Buttermilk morning at The Fighting Yank via Tesla!

Well, now we know don’t we? What this “buttermilk” thing is really all about. Now that we have solved that mystery let’s get on with the business here doing the F3 business we do Saturday mornings in Midtown Belmont. YHC had wanted to provide plates to push around for hairburners but to no avail. Don’t worry men, it’s coming! Just hen you least expect it. So, sore Achilles and all YHC does the 4 plus mile EC work and gets the pax rallied for breakfast. Yeah, we did it. Went like this:

COP: up to the Field of Dreams for warmup work.

Tesla Stretches, mosey to the other side

SSH X 20, mosey back

IWs X 20, mosey back across

Gravel pickers X 20, mosey back

Mtn. Climbers and Tesla stretches again.

Time for a some Superpipes! Top of hill at old Middle school: 5 plank jacks

Run downhill to the pavilion: 2 burpees.

Run up the steps to the street, 5 butt to the street monkey humpers.

Rinse and repeat, we do this 2X.

Picked up a “straggler” walking on the track. Fascinating story. Guy boxed professionally mostly in the UK. Can’t remember his name. Had to do the disclaimer.

Up to the Corner of Knowledge.

10 dips (my cadence)

10 stepups

10 dirkins

10 inclined big boys.

Line up on the sidewalk for transportation instructions:

To first cross walk (middle) burpee broadjump

To end, frog hoppers (these truly suck). Lost our straggler here.

SSH X 20, lunge walk back to COK

Mosey down to the playground, count off by four for a rotation.

10 pull ups

20 Merkins

30 squats

40 LBCs.

Run to the top of heartbreak hill and do 5 burpees.

2X on this.

4th quarter boys! You and I know what that means don’t we! It’s time to get tougher!

Bear. Crawl. Slalom!

Because we had almost 20 guys we only needed to rotations to get this done.

SSH X 10

Copperhead Squats X 10.

Mosey back, halfway drop and do 5 HR merkins. Oh, did I tell you, we did 5 more burpees for the train!

At the end, 5 chop-chop drills and a 2 minute plank to end with. Glass was empty!

Slow walk down to the Yank and a pledge.

Was this not fun? Or did it suck? Maybe both? That can always be the case! Plenty of little hurts but we soldiered on. Which was kind of a theme YHC wanted to show on this Coronation Day. The English bulldog and it’s tenacity is a thing. YHC was raised a grandson of that empire and so hen I hear people here put down the crown and all that goes with it, I have to either remind that our freedoms started there (see Runnymede and the Magna Carta, 1215). And we are an extension of a great tradition that actually values the individual human life as a sovereign entity. Few if any empires have ever done that. We should appreciate that tradition. And we can’t help but notice King Charles’s comment about service either. “I come to serve not to be served.” Words to lead by men. They have done it since 1066. Maybe it works.

AI F3 Challenge Accepted

Just over three weeks ago, the digital realm known as the Twitterverse was buzzing with fervor over the intriguing trifecta of Artificial Intelligence, ChatGPT, and their potential impact on the intricate art of F3 workout creations. Amidst this virtual symphony of ideas, a modest tweet was unleashed, and without hesitation YHC embraced the gauntlet thrown before me.

Following a dreary washout on the 22nd of April and the epic gathering known as Convergence last week, the time had come for the unveiling of PainLab 5.6 – aptly titled “The Rise of the Machines.” Now, dear reader, I present to you an unadulterated account of the exchange that transpired between my inquisitive self and the ingenious ChatGPT, a feat achieved in a mere 11 seconds. While I shall leave the bickering keyboard warriors to debate its veracity, rest assured that these seven HIM bore witness to the fruits of our labor. Scant alterations were made to the workout itself, save for one substitution: Kayne’s dirty word anthem “Power” was replaced with the haunting melodies of Guns N’ Roses’ “November Rain,” coinciding with the departure of the Girl Scouts from their nocturnal escapades at the museum (my apologies to the concerned mothers).*

My request: will you create a 50 minute workout and music playlist for kettle bell and body weight exercises?

The Machine:

Sure, I can create a 50-minute workout and music playlist for kettlebell and bodyweight exercises. However, please keep in mind that it’s always a good idea to consult with a qualified fitness professional before starting any new exercise routine.

Here’s a sample 50-minute workout and music playlist:

Warm-up (5 minutes):

  • Jog in place or jumping jacks (1 minute)
  • Bodyweight squats (1 minute)
  • Lunges (1 minute)
  • Mountain climbers (1 minute)
  • High knees (1 minute)

Workout (40 minutes): Perform each exercise for 45 seconds, followed by a 15-second rest. Rest for 1 minute after each circuit. Repeat the circuit 3 times.

Circuit 1:

  • Kettlebell swings
  • Push-ups
  • Goblet squats
  • Plank
  • Jumping jacks

Circuit 2:

  • Kettlebell clean and press
  • Lunges
  • Russian twists
  • Side plank (left side)
  • Burpees

Circuit 3:

  • Kettlebell snatches
  • Tricep dips
  • Single-leg deadlifts
  • Side plank (right side)
  • High knees

Cooldown (5 minutes):

  • Stretching exercises such as hamstring stretches, quad stretches, and shoulder stretches (5 minutes)

Music playlist: Here are some high-energy songs to keep you motivated throughout the workout:

  1. “Can’t Hold Us” by Macklemore & Ryan Lewis
  2. “Jumpman” by Drake & Future
  3. “Lose Control” by Missy Elliott feat. Ciara & Fatman Scoop
  4. “Uptown Funk” by Mark Ronson feat. Bruno Mars
  5. “Lose Yourself” by Eminem
  6. “Turn Down for What” by DJ Snake & Lil Jon
  7. “Stronger” by Kanye West
  8. “Eye of the Tiger” by Survivor
  9. “Power” by Kanye West
  10. “Till I Collapse” by Eminem feat. Nate Dogg

Remember to adjust the playlist to your personal preference and choose songs that help you stay focused and motivated during your workout.

*yes, ChatGPT also rewrote the first two paragraphs when I asked it to “make this sound more clever”

Folsom 5/4

Who turned the air conditioning on? It’s May and 39 degrees. What the crap? No problem. YHC will attempt to get the bearded brethren warmed up real quick. SA and Ball Joint roll in on 2 wheels as 0530 hits.

Warmup:

5 monkey humpers IC facing SA as he walked up. We did some other stuff as well. We HAD to do gravel pickers because that’s the only warmup exercise that a certain PAX was willing to perform.

PLEDGE

Thang:

To the tennis courts for the Sheldon Cooper.

  • 10 Burpees
  • 10 Squats
  • 10 Merkins
  • 10 Big boys
  • Run a lap around the perimeter of the tennis courts

Rinse and repeat but decrease reps by 1 each round all the way down to 1.

Once you were finished, go back and pick one of your brothers up and stay with them until everyone is finished. This ate up a lot of the clock, so YHC decided on 11’s with American Hammers IC on one end, run across 2 tennis courts, Mike Tysons on the other end.

5 minutes remained so we circled up for Mary. Burpees, LBC’s, Flutter Kicks, Penguins and Big Boys were called.

Time’s Up.

Three beers later…AI to the rescue

Jane Fonda’s VQ at The Goat with an assist from Roscoe who convinced me I could pull off a Q
while at The Station for Happy Hour last week. Three beers in I thought he sounded reasonable
enough.  Roscoe was going to co-Q but backed out because he knew I could do it on my own, so I turned to AI for suggestions and this is what we did.

Started out with disclaimer (I am not a professional, although I was accused of same)

Mosey over bridge to Goat Island for warm-up,

exercise, stretches. Gentle reminders from the PAX of a Q’s responsibilities
were offered. Mosey back across bridge, 5 burpees for the train, followed by the Thang:
Round 1: Partner up. Partner 1 runs laps while partner 2 completes as many of the following
exercises, switching exercises for each lap (Merkins, Squats, Burpees, Flutter kicks). Rinse and
repeat.
Round 2: Same gig, different exercises (Mountain climbers, Plank jacks, Plank knee taps, Big
boys).
Round 3: Alternating lunges, Shoulder press.
Five more burpees for another train after much arguing among the PAX if it was indeed the
same train going in circles.

Uncle Ted at The Bobby

So with the addition of Ground Assault The Ricky Bobby has had less attendance. But not less in quality! Such as it was today as three pax gathered for F3 Tesla’s way! Looked like this:

COP/Warmup:

Out to the field, jog to the other side

SSH X 20

Jog back, 20 IWs

jog back, grass pickers X 20

jog back, Tesla stretches, Mtn. Climbers X 20

Center: 5 burpees

Corner 3: 20 Mike Tysons

Center: 5 burpees

Corner 4: 20 big boys

Center 5 burpees

Down to the goal line for some Herb Brooks. FYI, Herb was the coach of the 1980 US Olympic Hockey Team (Miracle on Ice) that was a cornerstone of my generation’s memories as I was in School at NC State then. So we did these suicide sprints in his honor which was a staple of his conditioning regimen.

25: 5 CDD, back to GL

50: 10 CDDs, back to GL

75:  15 CDDs, back to GL

100: 20 CDDs, back to GL

Over to the benches:

10 dips, stepups, dirkins

Sprint to the other side, 10 SSH

Rinse and repeat

Time for a Tesla staple, Bear Crawl Slalom!

Three across the field! All the way.

Done and pledge

NMM: Short crew but a good crew. Everyone did the work. Proud of ’em!

Prayers for our community in this very unsettling time. Guys, we are the light out there. Stand up and lead! It’s your time – right now!

Famous Toastery

Eleven men and a CHAMPIONSHIP BELT showed up to the greatest afternoon workout AO in the county, in the state, in the country and in the world.

All were distracted by the partially nude dude walking to the turd shack.
All listened to the tale of the failed EC at Folsom with the POKEMON guy.
All wondered about the smell from the turd shack men’s bathroom.

Warm-Up:

Collected Timeframe

Mosey to Martha’s

The Thang:

Basically, we used some old balm and mascara cases Tube had left over and Maybelline stuffed them full of different colors and we applied them to the same pig at various locations throughout Martha’s.  Merkin/Squat/And something else over and over and over with maybe a few other variations thrown in while others ran.  Rinse and Repeat.  Funny about the rinse part, we found out that most Pax do their own laundry and there is a preference on detergents.  We got 2+ miles in.

Gain is JJ’s favorite, EZ Rider prefers flame and gasoline.

Again, I had one of the best times of my life this morning.  Mumblechatter was probably at its best at COT.

Honored to Lead
