Proverbs 11

11 The Lord detests dishonest scales,
    but accurate weights find favor with him.

When pride comes, then comes disgrace,
    but with humility comes wisdom.

The integrity of the upright guides them,
    but the unfaithful are destroyed by their duplicity.

Wealth is worthless in the day of wrath,
    but righteousness delivers from death.

The righteousness of the blameless makes their paths straight,
    but the wicked are brought down by their own wickedness.

The righteousness of the upright delivers them,
    but the unfaithful are trapped by evil desires.

Hopes placed in mortals die with them;
    all the promise of[a] their power comes to nothing.

The righteous person is rescued from trouble,
    and it falls on the wicked instead.

With their mouths the godless destroy their neighbors,
    but through knowledge the righteous escape.

10 When the righteous prosper, the city rejoices;
    when the wicked perish, there are shouts of joy.

11 Through the blessing of the upright a city is exalted,
    but by the mouth of the wicked it is destroyed.

12 Whoever derides their neighbor has no sense,
    but the one who has understanding holds their tongue.

13 A gossip betrays a confidence,
    but a trustworthy person keeps a secret.

14 For lack of guidance a nation falls,
    but victory is won through many advisers.

15 Whoever puts up security for a stranger will surely suffer,
    but whoever refuses to shake hands in pledge is safe.

16 A kindhearted woman gains honor,
    but ruthless men gain only wealth.

17 Those who are kind benefit themselves,
    but the cruel bring ruin on themselves.

18 A wicked person earns deceptive wages,
    but the one who sows righteousness reaps a sure reward.

19 Truly the righteous attain life,
    but whoever pursues evil finds death.

20 The Lord detests those whose hearts are perverse,
    but he delights in those whose ways are blameless.

21 Be sure of this: The wicked will not go unpunished,
    but those who are righteous will go free.

22 Like a gold ring in a pig’s snout
    is a beautiful woman who shows no discretion.

23 The desire of the righteous ends only in good,
    but the hope of the wicked only in wrath.

24 One person gives freely, yet gains even more;
    another withholds unduly, but comes to poverty.

25 A generous person will prosper;
    whoever refreshes others will be refreshed.

26 People curse the one who hoards grain,
    but they pray God’s blessing on the one who is willing to sell.

27 Whoever seeks good finds favor,
    but evil comes to one who searches for it.

28 Those who trust in their riches will fall,
    but the righteous will thrive like a green leaf.

29 Whoever brings ruin on their family will inherit only wind,
    and the fool will be servant to the wise.

30 The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life,
    and the one who is wise saves lives.

31 If the righteous receive their due on earth,
    how much more the ungodly and the sinner!

Pray for Madoff, Gavel, Quiche, Spiderman, Mayor, Bandit.  Lift these men and their families.

Two is one, one is none

YHC had the Q this morning at the Pub but was a little concerned that other life duties would get in the way so I had my son, Sargento, on standby just in case I couldn’t make it.

YHC ended up getting there early and ready to go and so did Sargento, and Sargento actually had printed Weinke’s for everyone in case he was the Q.  He was going to make the PAX take the “mud route” but YHC took the Q back from whatever insurrection was taking place.  (Thanks for covering for me big Cheese!)

The route was Gaston Day School Road inbound, left on Armstrong, left on New Hope, Right on Lee, Left on E. Perry, right on Armstrong Park/Gaston Day School Road and back to start.

Defib and Dr. Seuss were out front.

Sargento and Stroganoff were fast today.

Breaker, JJ, Ooompa Loompa, and YHC all were OYO but we finished at 0615 just like we are supposed to and no one got lost, inured or seriously killed.

Announcements:  There will be a canned food Ruck this Saturday at all AO’s.  Bring some canned goods for those that need it!

Sargento is Q’ing a Salvation Army “ring the bell”.  Information is posted on SLACK so check it out.

The Gashouse has two confirmed Mortimer teams.  Training will commence in January with mandatory training runs with dog biscuits in your pockets.

Praises:  Stroganoff’s 2.2 is now an All-County Cross Country runner as her HS won the conference tourney and his 2.2 set a PR when it counted most!

Praise #2:   Breaker Breaker’s daughter in law Emily graduates from Appalachian State this weekend, joining the distinguished alumni from that majestic university.  Respect Yosef

Praise #3:  YHC’s M had surgery yesterday and she is doing well.

We said the Pledge of Allegiance and closed in Prayer.    YHC totally forgot to get the video nameorama but it isn’t required so get over it.

We are blessed to be American and live in a free country.  Never take that for granted.

Proverbs 10

Proverbs of Solomon

10 The proverbs of Solomon:

A wise son brings joy to his father,
    but a foolish son brings grief to his mother.

Ill-gotten treasures have no lasting value,
    but righteousness delivers from death.

The Lord does not let the righteous go hungry,
    but he thwarts the craving of the wicked.

Lazy hands make for poverty,
    but diligent hands bring wealth.

He who gathers crops in summer is a prudent son,
    but he who sleeps during harvest is a disgraceful son.

Blessings crown the head of the righteous,
    but violence overwhelms the mouth of the wicked.[a]

The name of the righteous is used in blessings,[b]
    but the name of the wicked will rot.

The wise in heart accept commands,
    but a chattering fool comes to ruin.

Whoever walks in integrity walks securely,
    but whoever takes crooked paths will be found out.

10 Whoever winks maliciously causes grief,
    and a chattering fool comes to ruin.

11 The mouth of the righteous is a fountain of life,
    but the mouth of the wicked conceals violence.

12 Hatred stirs up conflict,
    but love covers over all wrongs.

13 Wisdom is found on the lips of the discerning,
    but a rod is for the back of one who has no sense.

14 The wise store up knowledge,
    but the mouth of a fool invites ruin.

15 The wealth of the rich is their fortified city,
    but poverty is the ruin of the poor.

16 The wages of the righteous is life,
    but the earnings of the wicked are sin and death.

17 Whoever heeds discipline shows the way to life,
    but whoever ignores correction leads others astray.

18 Whoever conceals hatred with lying lips
    and spreads slander is a fool.

19 Sin is not ended by multiplying words,
    but the prudent hold their tongues.

20 The tongue of the righteous is choice silver,
    but the heart of the wicked is of little value.

21 The lips of the righteous nourish many,
    but fools die for lack of sense.

22 The blessing of the Lord brings wealth,
    without painful toil for it.

23 A fool finds pleasure in wicked schemes,
    but a person of understanding delights in wisdom.

24 What the wicked dread will overtake them;
    what the righteous desire will be granted.

25 When the storm has swept by, the wicked are gone,
    but the righteous stand firm forever.

26 As vinegar to the teeth and smoke to the eyes,
    so are sluggards to those who send them.

27 The fear of the Lord adds length to life,
    but the years of the wicked are cut short.

28 The prospect of the righteous is joy,
    but the hopes of the wicked come to nothing.

29 The way of the Lord is a refuge for the blameless,
    but it is the ruin of those who do evil.

30 The righteous will never be uprooted,
    but the wicked will not remain in the land.

31 From the mouth of the righteous comes the fruit of wisdom,
    but a perverse tongue will be silenced.

32 The lips of the righteous know what finds favor,
    but the mouth of the wicked only what is perverse.

Painlab 12/5

 4 Hims showed for a sweet sunrise at Painlab. Given that fact that the median age was above 50, we decided to warm up with circles, shrugs, twists and some Vodoo Yoga. Don’t worry, we got it in with hammers, flutters, lunges and a series of punches and ab work outs. We practiced safe distancing with at least feet apart. Thanks men! Praying for us to get through this heavy time of COVID. Stay safe & healthy

LBC’s

Run a lap around the track and say good morning to The Sentinel.  The Sentinel is a gentleman who shows up each Wednesday to walk and run the track.  We have invited him to join us but he keeps doing his own thing.  Have to respect a guy who will get up at 4:30 AM and workout regularly.

Meet back at the start for Ring of Fire.  Here we circled up and held the LBC position while one Pax did one LBC.  When he was finished the next Pax did one LBC and so on and so forth around the circle.  We increased each round buy one LBC until we each did 8 LBC’s.

Run a lap.

I gave the PAX the choice to rinse and repeat with Flutter Kicks or Eskimo Merkins.  They choose Flutter Kicks and we completed 6 rounds.

Run a lap and Sargento led us to the steps at the back of the school.  We didn’t have enough room for this large of a crowd to do Calf Raises, so they will have to wait.  Instead, We Bear Crawled around the ramp from the school to the parking lot.

Here, we ran Rugby Sprints for approx. 50 yds.  Each PAX took turns calling an exercise (AMRAP) and when he said “GO”, we sprinted to the second light and back, then slow mosey back to the light.  Some of the exercises were Goof Balls, Diamond Merkins, Bobby Hurleys, Peter Parkers, Half Plank and Mountain Climbers.  Sorry, I can’t remember them all.  We had a pretty good crowd today.

Mosey to the side of the school to the two sets of stairs for Calf Raises x 100 OYO.

Mosey to the start.

Almost time so we did burpees until 6:15.

Thanks for participating today men.

Dirt

And for the final time……

So is it the cold or Covid or fear keeping numbers down? Either way we have a very eager strong group of HIMS Present.
Pledge
warm up : goofballs x 10 Ic
SSH x 10 Ic
Makhtar N’Diayes x 10 IC
Plank Jacks x 10 IC
Advise all present that should they want running ( only JJ and Waterboy at this time) then they should post at Pub tomorrow as with today’s final tally we probably only traversed 1/10 of a mile except if you were to deduct the nur from the total then we are now in a negative column!
Mosey to road and instructed to “safely” nur to each of telephone poles and perform 5 burpees at each (5 total) I think
Now at Drs office for some more Non OSHA fun

Dirty Frogger 11’s ( performed in Riverwood road)
One side of road Bobby Hurleys and Mike Tysons at other with Burpees in the middle …. FUN!!
Move to drive and 10 inclined big boys and bunny hop to first pole
Mosey to parking lot ….just like last week JJ catches us off guard and yells,” Squirrel!” ( in actuality it was 2 deer)
The original plan was for partnering up … but this worked just as we’ll
One person would perform an exercise while the others performed the other called exercise until someone fails or stops brief rest and exchange
Exercise groupings were :
Al Gore/ lower plank
Jump lunge/ merkins
Burpees/ MNC
SSH/ Lbc
Jump squat with arms up / American hammers

Next over the wall and to the dock for climb up ( or in Waterboy’s case jump over! ) bear crawl down and 1 burpee twice over

Mosey to wall for countdown of 12 dips, 11 step ups/ 10 dips … all the away to 1 but wait somewhere in the midst of this comes Stinky BBird and Flintstone fresh from a run!! They join us and finish up back at start for final 3 minutes of core:

waterboy with star crunches ( he was avidly talking about holiday cakes from Lil Debbie and star cookies and all kinds of sweets … so he renamed his crab crunches for  20 count oyo

Flinstone pelted us with Freddy Mercuries IC x 15

lastly Stink Bird dropped Jane Fonda’s 15 each side

and were done

no announcements other than cancellations

prayers for Flintstones sister as they continue to isolate with many doctors what is going on

EZ Rider and his family

Nutria

Double Stuf family

moleskin

I advised the early group focus today was on legs and mostly joints as they lock up and freeze as we age and especially in the colder weather …. which today would serve me well along with the nur as in the normal ebb and flow of my day I came around a corner facing an adult pit bull …. thankfully he merely wanted me gone ( or maybe he was startled by my screams as that was all I had time for …. spray was nearby but I hesitated as he did not advance beyond 3-4 feet from me )

Mosey to the east side of the school.  Wall sit for one minute then 20 shoulder taps from plank position.  Count one arm.  Rinse and repeat x 3.

Mosey to the south side of the school and pair up.  Pax one moseys to the end of the parking lot and does 5 burpees while pax 2 amraps side straddle hop.  Round two 5 burpees and flutter kicks.  Round three 5 burpees and LBC’s.  I hear the train now.  Glad we did our burpees earlier.

Proverbs 9

Invitations of Wisdom and Folly

Wisdom has built her house;
    she has set up[a] its seven pillars.
She has prepared her meat and mixed her wine;
    she has also set her table.
She has sent out her servants, and she calls
    from the highest point of the city,
    “Let all who are simple come to my house!”
To those who have no sense she says,
    “Come, eat my food
    and drink the wine I have mixed.
Leave your simple ways and you will live;
    walk in the way of insight.”

Whoever corrects a mocker invites insults;
    whoever rebukes the wicked incurs abuse.
Do not rebuke mockers or they will hate you;
    rebuke the wise and they will love you.
Instruct the wise and they will be wiser still;
    teach the righteous and they will add to their learning.

10 The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom,
    and knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.
11 For through wisdom[b] your days will be many,
    and years will be added to your life.
12 If you are wise, your wisdom will reward you;
    if you are a mocker, you alone will suffer.

13 Folly is an unruly woman;
    she is simple and knows nothing.
14 She sits at the door of her house,
    on a seat at the highest point of the city,
15 calling out to those who pass by,
    who go straight on their way,
16     “Let all who are simple come to my house!”
To those who have no sense she says,
17     “Stolen water is sweet;
    food eaten in secret is delicious!”
18 But little do they know that the dead are there,
    that her guests are deep in the realm of the dead.

Pray for Clavin, Dirt,  Hacksaw, Tube, Orangeman, Doodles.  Lift these men and their families.

Tiger
