Yoga and Other Shenanigans

It was a dry and very soupy humid Saturday morning.  Just the kind of morning that one can get a rolling sweat going.  That’s just what we did.

There were lots of exercises.  The ones that I can remember are squat thrusts, SSH’s, lots of various ab stuff, step ups, dips, derkins, merkins, yoga, squats, monkey humpers, and I’m sure other movements were thrown in there.  It was a hoot.

Everyone pushed hard, got stronger, talked a little junk, listened to what I thought was an excellent song selection, and did quite a bit of sweating.

It was a real honor and pleaser to lead such an outstanding group of guys.

Until next time.

Aye!!!!!!

COT

It was a great morning at the Bulldog.  Lots of chatter about the apparent beatdown extravaganza psycho buttermilk session the HIPAA poured out on the group last week.  It sounds like it was awful.   Hate I missed it.

The music for today brought to us by AC/DC, Tool, Sweet Vine, Metallica, and the Beastie Boys.

It was an absolute honor to begin to day with such a great group.

Crusty Vets

An absolutely beautiful 52 degree and dry morning.  A perfect opportunity to defeat the fartsack and shake off the crust…I mean rust.  All regulars at this morning’s edition of the Labyrinth although some not so regular to this particular AO.  It was great to see some of the Folsom HIM’s make it to the South Side for a visit.  Great to see Balljoint, Westside, and SA joint us for a little “buttermilk”.  All great guys.

After some hellos and good mornings the clock struck 5:30.

Penguins, Burpees, and much more

It was slightly muggy and the pollen and ragweed were in full bloom.  On the night before the workout YHC and Tube the Painlab site Q collaborated and decided that we would split duties since the weinke YHC had decided on did not involve an inordinate amount of running.  We thought that it would be a good opportunity to combine the PAX for a nice change and maybe encourage some of the Painlab regulars to give boot camp a try.

After a very nicely Q’d warmup:

20 Hillbillys

20 Imperial walkers

20 squats

10 merkins

5 burpees

YHC took the rains and over to the rear steps of the library for some of the thang.

Partner up.

Pax 1 stays and does AMRAP while Pax 2 travels any way he so chooses to the top of both stair cases for 10 merkins.  We had some interesting choices.  There was bunny hopping, the one legged sprinkler, bear crawl, and mostly the old fashioned mosey.  This x 3 per called exercise.

Merkins at top.  Squats bottom.

Cdd’s at top.  LBC’s bottom.

Up to the dentist’s office for a twist on The Walls of Jericho.  This was 7 reps of 7 exercises on 3 walls 7 times around the building.

Exercises were:

Squats

Monkey Humpers

Merkins

Mountain climbers

Plank jacks

LBC’s

Flutter kicks

Rudolph and Whoppee decided they would throw in 7 burpees on wall #2.  Finding inspiration in Whoppee and Rudolph’s example  Linus and YHC around round 4 decided to throw in 1 burpee per wall.

There was some interesting conversation about overweight penguins that quickly became very inappropriate.  We all had a good time with that.  You just had to be there.  Its also possible that we had a buzz going from the sea of pollen we were pretty much swimming in.  And the mumblechatter was as thick as the pollen.

We all finished with very little time to spare.

Mosey back to start and time.

No live penguins were harmed in this workout…just very offended.

Everyone pushed hard, got stronger, had some laughs, broke a sweat, talked some junk, and had a wonderful morning.

3 Showed at the Dawg

I guess on the heels of what was a monsoon-like couple of weeks most of the dogs decided to stay in the doghouse for this chilly and dry morning.  However, as they say a small yet mighty group decided to get after it this morning.  It was a great way to start the day.

Here’s how it went.

We ran some.  There was some stretching, SSH’s, LBC’s, CDD’s, kettle bell swings, more running, squat to overhead lifts, more running, dips, calf raises, more running, tricep extensions, merkins, squats, more running, WWI’s, WWII’s, and more running.

It was a wonderful morning.  Everyone (all 3) was in good spirits.  We all 3 worked hard and had great conversation.

It was a real pleasure.

Until next time,
