The Greatest Salesman in the World

9 degrees at the start.  10 HIMs showed for a brisk beatdown the day before Christmas.

As a cliche for the day, YHC broke out the 12 Days of Christmas workout from Christmas Eve 2017 that went as follows:

Short warm-up with SSH’s, Imperial Walkers and Merkins.

Mosey to track at Grier Middle School.

Here are the 12 exercises in the 2022 version of Stroganoff’s 12 Days of Christmas:

Day 1 – 1/2 lap mosey; Day 2 – 10 Bobby Hurley’s; Day 3 – 10 Merkins; Day 4 – 20 LBC’s; Day 5 – 5 burpees; Day 6 – 30 Flutter Kicks; Day 7 – 20 Squats ; Day 8 – 20 CDD’s (maybe); Day 9 – 20 Hillbillies (maybe); Day 10 – 2- SSH’s (maybe); Day 11 – 30 Mountain Climbers (maybe); Day 12 – 50 Moroccan Nightclubs (for sure).  I know these are the exercises we did, I am just not 100% sure of the order of things.

A little time was left so we added one lap of the Wolfpack Grinder with 10 IC Squats – Half Lap – 30 Freddy Mercury’s – Half lap

Mosey back to the start.  Brisk workout over.

It was great to have that many show for a 9 degree workout.  Before F3, not only would I have never worked out in this type of weather, I wouldn’t even consider it.  It’s always outside.  Do hard things.

My tradition on the Saturday before Christmas is to give out copies of a new book plus any I have left over from previous years.  This years book was The Greatest Salesman in the World by Og Mandino.  This is an older book but one that is considered to be a classic personal development book.  Og has a large collection of similar books and titles.  I would recommend checking them out.

Thanks for the opportunity to lead.

Until the next one.  Aye!

The Arctic Circle

A surprising 11 PAX posted in the 8 degree temps on Saturday morning at Old School. We wasted no time getting started.

Warmup:

SSH, butt kickers, high knees, butt kicker, high knees, let’s mosey

The Thang:

At the shelter 10 derkins, 10 dips, 10 stepups x 3 sets. Then run a lap. Do this for 4 rounds. About the third lap I actually felt a little sweet popup. Just as I mentioned this to Gumby and SA it quickly froze on my eyelashes! This is dumb! However we stayed moving so that helped with the cold.

Next we grabbed some sandbags Wirenut and I provided and partnered up in the parking lot. P1 does an exercise while P2 goes out and back about 30 yds. Below is what we did each round.

Cleans and Wojo out and back x 3 rounds. The Wojo for 3 rounds sucked at that distance.

Overhead press and karaoke out and back x 1 round

Weighted lunge and NUR x 1 round

I think we ran through those last two another round and somehow I missed the calf raises I had written down. Of course my eye lashes were frozen.

After that we did some sandbag ruck catch me if you can around the block x 2 rounds. Several batflippers had to run with it. I guess they are afraid of burpees.

We finished up with a few minutes of mary

Mt. Hollywood Christmas cookies burn off

A frigid morning in Mt. Hollywood but the heat was turned up in tribute to Santa’s Sleigh following a warm up to include:

Side Straddle Hops
Arm Circles
Chinooks
Don Quixotes

A modification of BLIMPS was used spelling out Santa’s SLEIGH in conjunction with the 12 days of Christmas:

Starting with 1 repetition each, adding 1 repetition each round x 12 rounds:

Squats
Lunges
E2K
Iron Mike
Groiners
Hillbillies

Following each round, run a lap in the lot.  The next round begins when all PAX return from the lap.  In this case with only two PAX, there was no break.

Upon completion of the 12 days in the SLEIGH, 8 box jumps up onto the site benches were performed in dedication to Santa’s jumping down chimney stacks.  8 Derkins followed with each derkin executed with naming each of Santa’s reindeer.

Finished off with core exercises to include:

Flutter Kicks
Big Boys
LBC’s
Protractors

Spread the Good News

This morning it was really cold again. The HIM were out rucking, running or walking as best they can to beat the fartsack and shed the holiday pounds. All were better for posting.

Thw Word was from Luke 2:8-20 where the shepherds were told of the great news of Jesus’ birth. They left the fields to see the baby and then told everyone about it. Let’s tell everyone of this great news too!

Prayer Requests: Wirenut’s family

Announcements: Beer Mile Saturday at Sargento’s (see preblast), 8 Block new year’s day.

Making Molehills Out of Mountains: Exhortation – Crossroads 12/18/22

10 PAX posted for a cold morning run at Crossroads.  Then the pledge, name-o, announcements, & COT (just probably not in that order!).  We rounded out the morning with a warm cup of coffee, a great discussion on “Exhortation”, and a quick video clip that I felt illustrated the principle to a T.

Announcements / COT:  Beer Mile – New Year’s Eve @ Sargento’s neighborhood (check Slack) / 1st Quarter points challenge

Prayers:  Gumby’s mother & brother-in-law / Wirenut’s family / Turtleman / Huck

One is the loneliest number that you’ll ever do

It was the morning before Christmas and all through the parking lot, not a creature was stirring for the PainLab AO, not even a Him. What! Its 8 degrees out here and ya’ll fart sakin son’s a britches leave me hanging out here by myself 🙄 Shame on you! Santa’s gonna take care of you loosers. So I did what any Him would do, I improvised and hung with the misfits from Gashouse. Just read the 12 days of Christmas that Stroganoff dished out. It was strong Q and it was freakin COLD. At least I didn’t fart sack 😛

Where’s my snow, damnit

I roll up a minute late because the M’s car was parked behind mine. That’s my excuse and I’m sticking with it. I see a few idiots here, I mean these guys are idiots for being out in this cold & rainy mess. It should be snowing for Pete’s sake. The only Him there to Ruck is Mainframe. Cool deal, this is my first time meeting. We stomped around in this stuff for about 30 minutes until it started to freeze rain a little heavier, so we decided to head back to Publix to grab some cover and get some work in. We did American hammers, LBC’s, squats, flutters, over-head press, rev crunches and a few others. Good work Mainframe! Keep at it and look forward to seeing you make a few more AO’s
