Pretty Simple

Nine loyal PAX rolled up into the Folsom gloom for a simple beat down this AM. Nothing like the cooler air of the coming fall mornings to get you pumped. YHC didn’t plan a technical or extravagant Q, but all in all, it worked out. With some chatter about election, society, and work we stretch it out to wait for any other non fartsackers. It’s 5:30, so let’s roll.

very, very, very long mosey up to the tennis courts for what really looked stupid on paper, if it had even been written. Partner up!

P1 will run a lap around the entire tennis court area while P2 performs the exercise. Switch and continue, like some Mary. U know the drill, accumulatively building to the total of each.

100 burpees, 200 Mt climbers, 300 LBCs, back down with 200 Mt climbers, 100 burpees. See, not too bad? Dolph, finishing 20 minutes ahead of the rest as usual decides it’s a good time to catch up on his Yoga while waiting. Once all PAX had completed, we too joined in. Not sure the names, but plank pointers for length of time and switch appendages? Anyways, short BB, but it took the entire 45.

Parking Lot Race

3 Men showed up in the gloom. Light crowd but we got the work in. We started with the pledge and rolled into the warmup. SSH x 10, Mericans x 10, squats x 10, CDD x 10, LBC x 10. Mosey to lower parking lot.

YHC picked approx. middle of the spaces and numbered 6 spaces with 10, 20, 30, 40, 50, 60.

10 Burpees run to end of parking spaces and bear crawl to other side of spaces, run to end of spaces, bear crawl across the short end and run. Back to middle spaces and complete 20 mericans and run, bear crawl, run, bear crawl, run. Back to middle for 30 CDD’s and run, bear crawl, run, bear crawl, run. Back to middle spaces for 40 squats, R, BC, R, BC, R. Back to middle spaces for 50 SSH, R, BC, R, BC, R. Back to middle spaces for 60 LBC’s. R, BC,R, BC, R. Rinse and repeat.

Nice work Huckleberry and Mary Lou as we discussed the several fartsackers. We tracked about 2 miles. #DRP

this is stupid

5 men braved the weather and take their DRP. no fngs, 0630 hits and it’s time to clock in.

weather: 64 degrees, rainy and wet.

warmups: cdd x 20, squats x 10 and toy soldiers x 15 all IC

quick mosey to the nearest turd shack for 25 donkey kicks and 25 plank jacks. rinse and repeat.

mosey to the building nearest to the highway for 50 plank squat and 50 merkins.  it was during the plank jacks that yhc heard “this is stupid” for the first time.  side note: pizza man was doing mike tyson instead of just planks; contributing to the suck.

mosey across the highway to the walmart parking lot for 75 morracan nightclubs and 75 calf raises.  during the start of the calf raises, roadie mentions this would be better on the curb.  so we moved and started over.  more mumble chatter about stupidness.  rinse and repeat.

mosey back to the building nearest the highway to repeat the 50 merkins and plank squats. more mumble chatter.

mosey to the turd shack for 100 lbc and 100 flutter kicks.  repeat with 100 lbc and 100 rosalitas.  more stupid mumble chatter.

mosey to the amphitheater for some rocky balboas, dips, derkins, incline merkins.  we tried a new variation of ring of fire. all held BTTW and one by one the pax bear crawled to the end of the amphitheater.  stupid.  we repeated but this time adding 5 burpees at the end of the amphitheater.   more mumble chatter.   ten merkin ring of fire.

mosey back to the launching point for the pledge and 22 merkins to honor our vets.  TIME

Folsom Ginners

8 Pax rolled up into the nice cool air of the Folsom AO this AM. Gotta love when the humidity dies down and the fresh cool air has you feeling a little nippley. Anyway, the Park has already become a full time campground due to the hosting of the Cotton Ginning Days event. These guys must be dedicated! I was a little worried about the possibility of awakening some of these hard core folk, but we carried on as usual. 5:30 and it’s time.

we make it to the horse arena for some of my favorites, box jump up the 5 steps of the concrete bleachers for 10 burpees, down the back up for 10 squats, down then back up for 10 Merkins, down for 15 dips on the bottom step IC. Mosey on around to the upper lot for some fast pace side steps across then back from curb to curb, then lunge walk curb to curb. 10 burpees OYO, LBC x15 IC. Mosey to another popular area of the AO, tennis courts to partner up for some Mary. P1 runs distance across all courts to the fence and back while P2 does Merkins, rotate for a total of 50, then the same with 100 squats, then the same with 150 LBCs. Next up is the use of the four corners, Mayor brought to our attention that there were four corners within “one” tennis court alone, nah we doing all 7 courts outside corners. 4 exercises 5 count each OYO at each corner, run to each corner, exercises were burpees, squats, LBCs, and Merkins. I notice we have a few minutes and we haven’t made it to my goal of at least 2 miles of running, so we line up for a good run of suicides using the width of each court t the end and back. Awesome, that actually put us at 2.3 miles total! We did our best t recruit some Ginners, but without success!

Street lights and shenanigans

6 Pax rolled into the Folsom gloom. I’ve always noticed the quantity of street lights within the park, especially after Garfield gave me an idea a few days earlier during his Q.  No one coming in hot so let’s do it.

9 men woke up and took that DRP for another edition of the sparky beat down.  at precisely 0530, it was time to roll.

temperature: 62 degrees and nice

warmups: don quixotes, ssh and toy soldiers all x 15IC

quick mosey around the tennis courts.  partner up.  p1 does 20 dead lifts while p2 does 20 pull-ups. switch.  rinse and repeat.

mosey down to and around the lower parking lot and back. all with block: shoulder press, squats, curls and american hammers all x 15

another lap.  rinse and repeat the above three times. lap after each set, bear crawling the last 30 feet or so.

time left for 10 blockees OYO. pledge. time.

  • side note about the title. while the workouts are always free, sometimes things happen during that result in spending money.  during the block curls, floyd unfortunately busted his tooth.  this resulted in a 272 dollar dentist bill. hope you’re doing well, floyd.

4 men posted to folsom for roadie’s second touchdown beat down. no fngs, brief disclaimer and it’s time to roll.

warmups: ssh and gravel pickers both x 15IC.

mosey down to the lower parking lot. cones set up every ten yards, 100 yards total.

bear crawl to the ten, 10 cdds. sprint to the twenty, 20 lunges. sprint to the thirty, 30 merkins.  sprint to the forty, 40 squats. sprint to the fifty, 50 lbcs. sprint to the forty, 40 squats. sprint to the thirty, 30 merkins. sprint to the twenty? 20 lunges. sprint to the ten, 10 cdds.  bear crawl to the end zone for the touchdown.  run back to the start and repeat until time is up. winner takes the coveted folsom trophy.

so…who is the q?

11 dudes took to the gloom at folsom. low humidity, starting to feel better outside.  all are stretching as medicine woman notes that allen tate was doing some intense stretching, insinuating we may be about to run. allen tate looks up and asks…who is the q?  after being informed he was, and the look of complete surprise… allen tate quickly (about 15 seconds) puts together a plan.  it’s 0530; let’s roll.

warmups: ssh, gravel pickers, allen tates and merkins all x 15IC. pledge

mosey up to the edge of dallas cherryville highway for lbc, flutter kicks and burpees.  mosey a little more for some an work, alphabet and don quixotes. indian run down to the far parking lot. mosey to the hill. run up, run back, run up, backwards run back and do some burpees.  link arms for friendship sprints x 4.  mosey to the picnic shelter for dips, lbc and raise the roofs.  mosey to the tennis courts for 4 corners. work at three corners, run a lap at the fourth. circle up an lbc ring of fire.

mosey back to the launching point as time is up.

#Folsom Remembers 9/11

The fog/smog was out thick this AM rolling into the Folsom gloom. With a little humidity, the overall atmosphere was right for a good beat down. Still in the back of my mind, I can see the images of the towers falling 15 years ago and all the brave men and women who went in to rescue and help those in the horrific sites where America Haters cowardly acted in terror. I still lift up those families of all who lost loved ones. So today I honor those families. So the PAX were rolling in hot, but not quite as hot as Roadie on 1 wheel! Great crowd and looks there, an FNG! Alright, some fellowship and stretching then 5:30 hit, lets roll

mosey to the far lot and concession stand for flutter kicks x15 IC, thanks Sparky for the nice slow/fast pace cadence! Find a wall and Donkey kicks x15 OYO. Then on our 6 for 15 big boy sit-ups OYO.

Enough with the snack shack, mosey to the pavilion for 15 Rocky Balboas (total 30), then a round of ATMs, while remaining in plank position with 15 shoulder taps IC, 15 single count merkins on YHC count, then 15 fast pace merkins OYO. Time is getting slim, so mosey the hard surface back to the start.

Great work men! We have gone from pushing pebbles to Pushing Tha Rock! Looking to push boulders!  I appreciate the opportunity to Q, but more important I appreciate the group, our friendships, and what F3 is all about; creating Men, leaders in our homes, in our communities, and in our Walks in Christ! Blessed to a part of it all!

 

Sartfackers, attack of the sack!

3 of Folsom’s finest posted this morning. Several others were attacked by the fartsack (I hope they survived), one was outsmarted by the smartphone alarm, one had to work, and another with his 2.0 posted at 05:30 by mistake and thought we were not going to show. (Sorry about the mistake with the start time.)

Warmup: SSH, Windmills, Calf raises, and Cherry pickers.  YHC mixed up the count on these so some were 15 and some were 10 but all were done IC.

Thang: We mosey down to the lower parking lot for some four corners. Bottom left with squats, bottom right with lunges, top right with merkins, top left with french fries, YHC likes to add a middle to my four corners and so we did a set of lbc’s in the middle. All exercises were OYO x 50. We mosey  to the amphitheater (Huckleberry’s fav) where we did the alphabet, rocky balboa’s x20, dip’s x15 IC, and derkin’s also x 15 IC. Mosey again to the Folsom hill for 15 big boy situps at top, run down for 15 CDD’s at bottom and Bernie Sanders back to top, repeat 3x. Mosey then to concession stand for 15 Donkey Kicks, and mosey to the shelter for 20 stepups IC and some plank dips x20. Mosey back to tennis courts for a ring of fire to honor 9-11, 9 merkins and 11 big boy situps. Also by request 22 merkins in honor of our veterans.
