PUB 3/23/23

13 HIM met to push rocks on 3/23/23.  With just a few days prior to P200 and Moritmer we had some real diehards out.  The route took us to the armory and back.  I originally planned to cut it short due to upcoming race but Waterboy was there to keep me company and 5 miles flew by.

Prayers of Broke’s co-worker with cancer, Radar’s sister, Tiger’s mom Clavin’s M and Termite’s brother

Post Mortimer Halfpipe

5 PAX put in work at The Halfpipe. It was post-Mortimer week so some ran, some rucked, and some did station work. All continued to push the rock.

Slaw’s WOD 50

We gathered at Midoriyama on Tuesday where I planned to celebrate Slaw’s 50th birthday by doing the hero WOD I created for him. If you are unaware a few years ago I decided to create some WOD’s to celebrate guys that are important and impactful in my life. Slaw happens to be one of those guys.

Warmup:

SSH x 15ic

Low slow squat x 10ic

Merkins x 10ic

Lets mosey down to the soccer field

The Thang-Slaw’s WOD:

Each exercise is defined by Slaw’s age=50

S-squats

run a lap

L-lunge

run a lap

A-American hammers

run a lap

W-WWI

run a lap

S-starburst

run a lap

W-wide arm merkin

run a lap

O-one legged burpee

run a lap

D-diamond merkin

With a little time left I asked Slaw for an exercise. He said SSH. I expected more but I guess he’s started his downhill slide. Hate to see it. So we did 10 SSH’s at each light pole on the left going back to the flag.

Prison Break 3/22/23

A little late on this one, but here goes. A few of the regulars were missing and I assume they were tapering for the P200. Still, we had a great crowd. Shout out to Chubbs for pushing his pace a little more today and also to Wirenut for running around me and helping motivate me to run a little further this morning!

Maybe Man Nipples Are Not Useless

I saw Round Up after my run this morning. He was quickly heading to the truck to get home to help his babies up and ready for the day, but I did get to ask him briefly about some ‘interesting’ Facebook videos I saw of him and his baby last night. You will need to friend him on Facebook or ask him in person for more details. He and his M are 2 of the funniest people around on Facebook so you should check him out. They’re like a little reality show or something.

Great crowd this morning. We had 17 running or rucking various distances. Great work men!

Announcements: Q vs Q final at Folsom Saturday @ 6:30, Community Foundation Run also Saturday at the basseball stadium in Gastonia. Painlab-style workout before the run at the stadium if you’re interested. See Ball Joint or Flintstone if you are interested in the 24 hour run at the White Water Center.
