Music Under the Lights

According to Twitter, a beatdown with 80s rock edition was promised so I did not want to disappoint. We had a small coupon to carry around (bluetooth speaker) with threats to be punished with a double helping of BRR legs if was dropped with Pandora adds interspersed with 80s music. Yes, JK2, that was my music growing up and after I get finished taking my multivitamin and prostate medication I will hobble my crippled butt over to you and beat you with my cane….

WU: 10 reps IC of the following: SSH, Freddy Mercury, Squats, Superman (cut that short, was not funny, will trash that one as I thought was really a waste of time other than humorous relief by Stroganoff who was not present today-rough few weeks-you get a pass), Burps (no pun intended T Square), LBCs, Cross Body Mtn Climbers, then 5 Burpees OYO.

The Thang:

Mosey around the parking lot together with called exercise at each speed bump with each exercise done AMRAP (as many reps as possible) for 1 minute. The exercises included the following: Merkins, Cross Body Mtn Climbers, Burpees (thanks for the suggestion Defib?), LBC, Renegade Rows (plank position with alternating arm raises), Jump Lunges, Table Top Toe Grabs (excellent form Joboo), Plank Jacks, and Prisoner Jump Squats.

Once finished with that, we moseyed to the art thing/Eye of the Storm for another round of the above exercises X 10 reps with 10 different Pax taking turns leading the exercises-great job guys.

We then moseyed back to start for some Mary for about 5 minutes.

Announcements, Prayer requests, named an FNG Sean Corkerin (?spelling) RADAR-glad to have you-brought in by Sargento.

Advisory Meeting this Sunday at 7pm-all Pax invited. International Headquarters of GSM.

Great start to the day-Whoopee

It’s not funny…

Sorry so long getting to this, I have no excuse other than life which is sometimes a good excuse but I should have done this sooner. I have already forgotten a lot of what we did.

WU:SSH, Freddy Mercury, Squats, Superman….WAIT, I think I heard Stronganoff laughing??? Theres no laughing during F3!!!! OMAHA to 10 Burpees OYO, then back to the WU with Superman, Burps, LBCs, Mtn Climbers.

Mosey to the baseball field, may have done an exercise or 2. Mosey back to the parking lot. At each speed bump we slowed down for 5 burpees then continued the mosey. Once we left the main lot we gave up the burpees. We made it to the small traffic circle for a quick exercise (see above, don’t remember, was still trying to recover from being laughed at by Stroganoff). Moseyed up the hill to the Eye of the Storm/Art thing for some plank. I have decided to try meditating during plank to get me to a happy place. Thanks for waking me Defib. More exercises but don’t remember what. Mosey back down to the start for a game of “Grab you Balls.” Pax partnered up, went to opposite sides of lot, balls in middle and at start time you ran to middle and grabbed 1 ball, brought back to your side. You could run all the way across and grab 2 balls from other side. Goal was to end up with more balls on your team’s side at the end. Once we finished we threw all the balls in 1 bag and declared both sides winners. More moseying ensued with another trip to the Eye of the Storm/Art thing then closed out with COT and namorama for our FNG who ate some Chinese food recently.

Enjoyed it, sorry so long getting this done.

Cramerton Speedway

Was a relatively small but high quality crowd today at Goat Island. The weather was perfect. Here’s what I remember:

WU: 10 reps IC of the following: SSH, Merkins, Freddy Mercury, Monkey Humpers, Scorpion Dry Dock, LBC, Mountain Climbers, then 30 Moroccan Night Club con la cucaracha (Whoopee original-MNC with toe raises as if stepping on cockroaches).

The Thang:

Mosey down hill then around to BB&T bldg, partner up, pA goes up/down stairs while pB does AMRAP called exercise X 2 rounds of the following:Merkins, Squats, Scorpion Dry Docks, Toy Hillbillys (mix btwn toy soldier and hillbilly), and hold in hip slapper position (careful to remove shoes each time so as to avoid soiling the walls of the beautiful building). When partners swap position they do 5 LBCs together.

Mosey back to start, Burpee challenge: escalator burpees every 30 seconds (or so)  starting at 1 and going to 10. Next we moseyed to the bottom of the hill right across from bridge for Cramerton Speedway-Catch me if you Can-partner A runs backwards around the town square, partner B does 5 Merkins then runs to catch partner A taking care not to pull a Roscoe/Anthrax sandwich. Swap and repeat process until all the way around the town square. Once back to start, lunge across bridge (5 bonus point for each spiderweb/spider you eat), 10 burpees on other side of bridge then mosey back to start. Next we heard the word of the week from Monk: “I will give thanks to the Lord with all my heart.” Followed by the corollary (I am paraphrasing) “While I do 10 burpees.” So we did 10 burpees and called it a day.

Namorama, Prayers for Outhouse, Announcements about BRR, Backwoods Brawl, run for the cars and off to.

Enjoyed it guys. Thanks for pushing hard.

Lightbulb

Today was my first time to Biggerstaff Park ever. Trying to be a good team leader I did some computer recon the night before, however there is nothing like being on the ground and checking out a new AO so I got to the park a little early. I had no trouble finding the spot-Dolph was there with the shovel flag and ready to go. Shortly after I arrived, 9 more alleged convicts from cell block F came thru the Sally Port to leave some sweat at Folsom and dodge the shakedown by the PoPo rolling thru the gloom this morning.

Here is what I remember-we started with the disclaimer then our WU: 10-15 reps IC of the following: SSH, Merkins, Freddy Mercury, Monkey Humpers, Scorpion Dry Docks, and (old man) Don Quixote. After the WU, we moseyed down to the bathroom area for some Dora 1-2-3 with partners. Instead of total number of reps, I set a secret timer with the duration known only to me. We did 3 minutes of Merkins, 4 minutes of LBC, and 5 minutes of squats (partner A did exercise and partner B ran short loop in front of bathroom then flapjack when partner B returns to start).

The walls of the bathroom were really nice, so I decided we did not need to go anywhere yet. Hip slappers were next-we had a few jokes, however, none were particularly funny so we just keep doing hip slappers…I really like these.

Once we semi-recovered from this, Freight led us to the picnic area and we did a few rounds of Dips and Squats IC. During the pauses to recover we talked a bit about the origins of F3 (Dredd and OBT) as well as the 5 rules of F3. I remember really enjoying these discussions when the Fort Mill and CLT guys started us off, not because I remember what they said, but because I really needed some time to catch my breath and recover. We also reviewed “how to count-F3 style” and took turns doing a few exercises IC with the Folsom guys-GREAT JOB!! I still remember my first time leading exercises with CSPAN and Swiper and feeling very……unintelligent. It’s not that hard, however the situation makes it awkward until you do it a few times. Keep working and if you forget, you can google “how to count F3” and see OBT and Dredd with a short video the night before you do your virgin Q. I think we finished with 5 burpees OYO then moseyed back to start. We did the pledge (thanks someone, maybe Freight, for the reminder) then our namorama and COT. Sorry Medicine Woman, can’t give yourself an F3 name. Moose does sound tougher, however, you get what you get and I would not ask for another. It is liable to be much worse.

Later in the day I told Bandit I had one of those “aha” moments. You know, when the light bulb goes on in your head and you realize things are not what they have seemed in a GOOD way? Starting this new AO in Dallas is what we have been training for over the last 11 months-I know we have been told that, but it really did not sink in until after the workout this morning. Getting there early and talking with Dolph, teaching the Folsom guys how to count, talking about the F3 rules, explaining what “you vs you” means, and spending time at the COT watching these guys interact with each other-that is what we are about. Exercise is just the means to get us started on this journey with each other. We are a bunch of guys who like to exercise, however, we are not JUST a bunch of guys who like to exercise, we are F3 and that means so much more. I am just starting to get it. What a great start to my day….Thanks guys.

I am ready for some warmer weather. I got a new redheartthing and can’t wait to post in it….#BRRchallenge.

Restraining orders and disclaimers

It was only the second posting to Derecho, but we still had a great turnout with 18 legs for some of the fast moving Pax of GasHouse. I was glad to see Anthrax back, however I felt the need to propose a restraining order before we even started to keep Roscoe at least 15 feet from him. Just like at home, nobody really listened to me and this restraining order was broken quickly with, as one of my childhood favorites described in Smokey and the Bandit, “A complete lack of respect of the law.” I quickly announced the disclaimer and we got started. My second disclaimer is that I did this without a Weinke and really don’t remember a lot about what we did.

WU10-15 reps of SSH, Merkin, Freddy Mercury, Carolina Dry Dock, Don Quixote, LBC. During the WU our favorite German Shepherd Lisl lunged at me several times snarling and gnashing her teeth. It was only by sheer luck, 11 months of training with F3 workouts, and cat-like reflexes that I was able to avoid certain death. Next time I will bring a few dog treats or tie a t bone steak to Roscoe’s arse.

The goal was to focus on running with some time leaches spread throughout so that I appeared to have planned some form of exercise. The truth is I was making it up as we went along but I guess that is ok since I was the Q. Anytime we passed/crossed at speed bump, we did two 8 count body builders. We moseyed to the softball/baseball fields and did some dips and squats (1 min each X 3 sets of each). We then moseyed thru the parking lot until we got to the lower eye of the storm (roundabout) and talked about dolphins and daffodils for a minute or so. We then settled in for some core stuff-I think we did 2 sets of 50 reps of individual Mary’s choice then we were off to the upper EYE of the storm. At the upper EYE we did 100 Merkins. The challenge was to do them without stopping and I believe Defib took that challenge without too much trouble despite some type of upper respiratory thing he was clearly ignoring. We then made our way back to the lower eye for more core work (I think). There was more running that followed with speed bumps galore. I liked one speed bump so much that I think we crossed it 6 times (plenty ‘o body builders) then made our way back to home base. I know we did a bunch of Moroccan Night Clubs (70?) but cannot remember where. At home base we did some more stuff including Jobu’s/Monkey Humpers. See disclaimer #2 above.

I have to say I enjoy this AO more than I thought. Running in the gloom is very peaceful, except when there are German Shepherds diving at you trying to chew you like the neighbor’s cat Fluffy. Next week, T bone steaks for dinner on Sunday night at my house for anyone interested….

Mayor needs a horse collar?

It was short on numbers but high in quality this morning at Rotary. While waiting for the Pax to arrive, we talked about the Rules of F3: there are only 5, the rest you find your way and try to survive and accelerate at the same time. Those rules are the following: free workout, open to all men, outdoor (rain or shine, hot or cold), led by unprofessional participants in rotating fashion, and end with COT. Bottom line, we decided just before the WU if we don’t have someone questioning what we are doing, we probably are not pushing it hard enough. After these deep thoughts, we got to work because we knew we were good enough, we were smart enough, and doggonit people like us (you young guys born in the 1980’s or later prob don’t know who Jack Handy is, look him up-#SNL).

WU:IC 10-15 each IC: SSH, Press/Press/Fling (missed you Roscoe, these were for you-hope you were enjoying yourself on vacation), Merkins, Freddy Mercury, Gorilla Humpers, Scorpion Dry Docks, and Old Man (slow) Don Quixote.

Pledge

Mosey to parking lot for 2 laps then (get them out of the way) 10 burpees OYO. Next we partnered up (sorry Stroganoff, not a whole lot of choices-you drew the short straw) and fast mosey/trotted in opposite directions around the parking lot with two 8 count body builders each time you passed your partner for a total of 5 laps. These got tough on the last couple laps for me and reminded me how running is not the hardest part of these workouts. Next we moseyed sssslllllooooowwwwwwlllyyyy to the gubment building with flags and did some Hip Slappers X 3 sets of 10 each IC under big brother’s watchful eye. During the rest period we recalled Hot for Teacher’s “hip slapping joke” last time. All I remember about this time is the punchline to Brownstreak’s joke: I can clearly see your nuts. I don’t remember the joke, just the punchline. Will have to ask him about that later. I think I remember Dolph saying he really liked the hip slappers-look out guys, think that will be a problem for us next time Dolph is Q-may want to plan a vacation next time he is on the calendar.

Next we went to the benches and did some squats and dips-1 min each X 3 sets each by a timer. I figured the lack of needing to count reps would encourage some Mumble Chatter and I was not disappointed (a little nauseated, but not disappointed). I heard about a certain Pax inability to ride a bike because his nuts were too big and the seat with a hole in it would only function as a “horse collar.” Easy Mayor, settle down. Gee, haw, whoa…… Also I learned what smartsacking meant (thanks Bandit, understand about those late nights). There were other comments that I just can’t recall, however there was constant chatter which was what I was hoping for.

We were closing in on finishing time so we started our trek back to home base by doing BLIMPS (5 Burpees, 10 Lunges each leg, 15 Imperial Walkers, 20 Merkins, 25 Plank Jacks, and 30 Squats) X 2 sets until we reached our starting point. Fortunately we had about 60 seconds to go so we did 5 ( or was it 10?) burpees OYO.

We did a quick COT with prayers for Outhouse and his mother, Dolph’s dad, and a reminder about Dredd and OBT coming to Rotary Meeting this coming Thursday (let Stroganoff or Dr. Dancegood, I mean Feelgood, know if you are coming).

Great morning guys. Although I would like to see 25 guys at every workout, I really enjoy the smaller groups. I spend more time with the second F during the workout. I think I need to make a better effort to do that in the bigger groups. Keep up the great work. I’ll be smartsacking this weekend-gotta work. Don’t forget the March BRR challenge and the advisory meeting next weekend open to all pax that are interested (7pm at Gaston Sheet Metal HQ on Sunday, March 6).

Sculpted 6 of Linus

I was really wishing I had fartsacked since Yeti was only 1 day away, until I arrived at the Rotary Pavilion and had the chance to spend some time with Hot for Teacher as he popped his cherry. He was already on site when I arrived and eager to get started. Soon afterwards the rest of the Pax came rolling in just like they always do. We started the warm up and Linus arrived fashionably late so we continued our SSH until he joined the circle. I had a new exercise I wanted to try out, so Linus became my target….

WU: SSH, Don Quixote (old man style (slow), that’s how I roll), Toy Soldier (for Dolph), Merkins, LBC, and then (drum roll)……Sumo Squat-reportedly shapes and tones the 6 better than anything else (with 1 leg do standing roundhouse kick, side kick, then squat X 2, then repeat with other leg). Linus seemed particularly comfortable doing these and I could not help noticing he may have done these before….coincidence…..I think not. Maybe he has been working on these. After about 3 or 4 of these per leg, I messed up the counting and I felt like we were wasting time so we broke out of that, did the pledge and got to work.

The Thang: Whoopee

Bearmuda Triangle-ish…more of a straight line. Was never good at algebra, or is that geometry? Who cares? Start at one end of parking lot and make way to other side by bridge. Either bear crawl or lunge for awhile then do a burpee. Continue bear crawl/lunge for awhile then 2 burpees, repeat with escalator/elevator burpees until you get to the bridge. Think I got to 5 burpees. After some group discussion we moved off the street for safety reasons and played some Blackjack. Sum of exercises is 21 (similar to 11’s) with Merkins and LBCs (20 merkins, walk/mosey across lot then 1 LBC. Back to start for 19 merkins then cross again for 2 LBCs. Repeato until complete or until we ran out of time). Been awhile since I was Q and I overplanned. Was planning for some other stuff but needed to get back to home base for Hot for Teacher’s portion of Q. We mosey back to start for Hot for Teacher who then took over.

Part Deux: Hot for Teacher

Plank Compass (got a nice view of Linus’ 6, he’s definitely been doing those sumo squats at home, you sumo squattin’ sculpted 6 SOB) for about 37 minutes. HFT loves to plank. Think we did some Peter Parkers next then not sure if we planked some more. Memory is a bit fuzzy. I know we eventually duck walked around the pavilion. Think HFT is part bird-his was more of a duck sprint. Worked in my favor as I was able to stand tall and walk like an old man for part of this while he could not see me. We got back to start and think we moved to Mary with a variety of things including LBC, Dying Cockroach, Freddy Mercury, humping the sky (AKA reverse plank), lie on your back in the Marge position and intermittently raise heels to sky (long name, maybe we should call it “heels to sky”), and (thankfully) 7 burpees OYO compliments of Spiderman.

Finished with a COT and ran for the cars so wouldn’t be late for work. Glad I posted. Feel better when I do and got to get in shape for the Yeti. I think it’s coming up soon. Anyone know when that thing is supposed to happen???

BRR March Madness Challenge: We have about 5 guys now and need at least 9 (preferably 12). I will put $50 towards any GasHouse pax registration fee if you post more times than I do in March. Got a couple new AOs opening up so lots of opportunities to get better. I promise you will earn every penny if you accept the challenge….. We need to register soon but can’t do without some more HCs.

Enjoyed it guys, thanks for coming out and thanks for sharing the Q with me HFT. Was a pleasure.

Whoopee and Hot for Teacher

Homeland Security

It was a moderately cold morning, but 7 of us fought off the fartsack to take a quick tour of the banks (and Walgreen???) for some mileage and ATMs.

WU: 10 reps IC of the following: SSH, Squat, Flutter (X 20), Sully Merkins (thanks for the suggestion from my M, however will likely never do this again-watch Monster’s Inc, Godfather-you can borrow my kids’ DVD if you don’t know what this is), Don Quixote, Gorilla Humpers, SDD

Pledge

Lot of running from home base with ATM’s at 4 banks plus a Walgreen’s (thanks JK2 for the good eyes spotting the ATM at the drug store), as well as some donkey kicks at (where else????) the BB&T. This was all in the first probably quarter mile explaining my rep reduction from 15/10 down to 5 with a quick Oklahoma. We hit a credit union a little while later and did a few SSH to get the blood back into my fingers. We then settled in for a nice run lasting the majority of the time then closed out the run with more ATMs at BOA.

We finished back at base with a few minutes of Mary with everyone getting a shot at leading, ending with some frozen cockroach (thanks Monk??).

I enjoyed the focus on running this am which was a change of direction for me, instead of the bootcamp type of stuff. Think we need a regular mainly-running workout here in GasHouse-maybe something we can talk about over the next few weeks-lot of options. Would enjoy the slow steady pace with some time to get to know the pax a little better. I enjoy the beat-downs as much as everyone, however getting some occasional mileage would be a nice change of pace-THINK ABOUT IT…… Not sure the extra credit is a long term solution for me-I need my beauty rest.

Thanks for the opportunity to avoid another fartsack and sorry this is late. Had some guy from Homeland Security stop by the house wondering why I was seen on 7 different ATM cameras yesterday…..

Whoopee

I said no running

Our kitchen is being painted so our entire downstairs has been turned upside down this week and the smell is almost overwhelming. “Why does that matter to me?” you might ask….Well, ironically I had a hard time finding my running shoes to make it this am for the NO RUNNING workout. I actually made it there ON TIME ( and about 3 seconds before Dr. Feelgood) but not early enough to stretch so my WU again turned into a true WU instead of my usual speed WU. I got to the PAX and looked at my phone and it was exactly 0530…then along comes the FNG I have been EHing for many months. The purpose of the NO RUNNING workout was to be inclusive of a friend with a bad back-the same guy a few of us have done some mud runs with in the past who is now confined to exercises that don’t hurt his back. He still manages to sweat it out at the YMCA between quarterly injections in his back. He is the type that you would want with you in a foxhole (just an expression, never actually been in a foxhole myself, keep your comments to yourself-I said foxhole, not fox’s hole). He would definitely be leading the pax if he was out here regularly. Hot for Teacher, if you are reading this, I’ll say it again…you made my week posting this morning-glad you were there and hope you got enough kool aid to bring you back again in the future.

Here’s what I remember…

WU: 10 reps IC of the following: SSH, Squat, Flutter, Merkins, Don Quixote, Gorilla Humpers, Scorpion Dry Docks, SSH (short round #2 just because I like them so much).

Pledge of Allegiance

The NO RUNNING Thang:

Lunge to the Bridge…..wow, that is longer than I remember….are we there yet???…..I hate Whoopee…..OKLAHOMA. Stop half way at entrance to the Gov’t Building and do sets of Drop Down’s (R leg on bench/wall behind and stationary front lunge/squat on L leg) X 10 each leg then Derkin X 10. We did 2 rounds of this.

Continue lunge toward bridge……OKLAHOMA-turn right before bridge and go to wall for Donkey Kicks (aka BB&Ts) X 10 (or was it 20?) then 20 Squats followed by Hip Slappers (my new fav) X 10 (or was it 20?) then 20 squats. Think we did 2 sets of this with unreliable counting by Whoopee, sorry guys. Halfway thru, I needed some air so I polled the Pax for a joke (hip slapper…..joke….sorry). Hot for Teacher thankfully provided a (moderately long) joke about a rich guy, a naked woman, and a bunch of quarters. I laughed but not sure I could tell you if it was funny to be honest. I was just glad to catch my breath for a bit. Think there was a wardrobe malfunction somewhere along here and I was accused of impersonating Daisy Duke……real or just a fantasy of mine…….who knows? My eyes are up here!!!

I am just now realizing that I misread my Weinke (probably during the Daisy Duke hiatus) and left out a few minutes of Mary with a trip to the ATM that was designed to provide a core beating…..will save that for next time.

We then ran…scratch that…lunged to the center part of the parking lot and partnered up. I introduced the Pax to the “Slowjangle Biscuit with Blueberries.” This is not to be confused with the Bojangle Biscuit. Each partner lunged around the lot in different directions and did 10 Merkins midway then upon meeting said partner on back side of the loop proceeded with 10 Burpees (slapping double high 5’s was optional and encouraged-thanks Roscoe) then continued with the lunge around the circle and back to the start. We got crazy on the first half and added a little Chinook for the inbound lunge but ran out of fuel for the second half. I was not too hungry so 1 Slowjangle Biscuit was plenty for me this morning.

Time was running short so we lunged back to the Gov’t Building for some Dips and Derkins (X ? 2 sets of 20 each, I think). This was followed by (or preceded by?) 6 minutes of pain: 1 minute of Merkins, 2 minutes of Lunges, 3 minutes of Flutters (AMRAP during that amount of time). I OKLAHOMA’d so much this morning, I cannot remember the order. We then lunged back to start for about 45 seconds of plank until time was up.

Mission Accomplished…no running and FNG Hot For Teacher was present.

I have been thinking about the holiday posts by other F3 pax, specifically about the “word” for the year…a word to keep in mind that will help guide decisions and actions this year. Many words have been considered, however the image that kept creeping back into my mind was a bowling ball. Not sure if that is from my tendency to be a “disrupter” or from going bowling recently with Dr. Feelgood and our combined 7 kids during the holidays. I know, really sounds strange but what I got from this is IMPACT. That is the word that I have finally chosen for 2016. Never done this before, so will probably need some pax to keep me accountable. My goal is to have more of an impact on my family, my friends, my coworkers (sorry Defib) and those who spend time in my general vicinity during 2016. Hot for Teacher, you are the first victim of my impact for 2016. Hope to see you out here again soon. I’ll lunge instead of running during any workout we are here together.

Not sorry for the long post, had to get this out. It’s my therapy when the house is quiet and I have been smelling paint fumes for the past 2 hours. Looking forward to how F3 Gastonia grows in 2016 and proud to be a part of this group of great guys.

Whoopee

Insufficient Funds

It was clearly the coldest post for me on record, however we still had a very good showing, including 3 who showed for some extra credit at 5am to get a little running in before the workout (OutHouse, Defib, Whoopee-thanks for the push OutHouse). I learned a few things this morning: 24 degrees is too cold for shorts, SSH is best thing for pre-frost bite fingers (more is better, 40 reps is adequate), and I don’t like Wells Fargo ATMs.

WU: 10-15 reps IC of the following: SSH, CDD, Flutter, Squat, Merkin, Imperial Walker, Freddy Mercury (this was a true WU for me full of boredom after the first few exercises but I felt were necessary given the low temps).

Pledge

The Thang:

Mosey carrying the medicine ball to dilapidated Lowe’s parking lot, partner up (not necessary but gave us something to do until all pax arrived). Split into 2 lines and 1 pax from each line did relay with medicine ball around parking lot in different directions but crossing in middle on other side of lot to hand off medicine ball then continue around back to start. While partners were doing this running thing, the remaining pax stayed at the start and did rounds of AMRAP of the following exercises: SSH, CDD, Flutter, Squat, Merkin, Imperial Walker, and Freddy Mercury. After the pax returned to start, the next in line repeated the relay/run with ball until all had gone twice (I think) while remaining pax moved on to the next exercise. This really makes sense in my head but sounds very confusing on paper.

Next exercise consisted of Donkey Kicks (also known as BB&T’s) and Dips. We started in front of store and did 30 seconds of BB&Ts then moseyed to end of building and did 30 seconds of dips. I think we did 2 sets of this, but just for the record let’s call it 5 sets of each.

I was getting bored with this I think because of the lack of mumble chatter. Was not sure if it was the workout or the cold weather….my vote is the weather since I had snot-icycles at this point.

We moved on down my Weinke and did a quick audible. My plan was to mosey to the local Bank of Bank (not really that far) but during the mosey we came upon a Wells Fargo ATM which served my purposes just fine. In front of the ATM we did ATMs (A=15 sets of alternating shoulder taps in 4 counts, T=tempo merkins:1-3 down then up on 4, M=regular fast single count merkins). We moseyed around the entire parking lot for total of 2 sets of ATMs (only comment was from OutHouse-“insufficient funds” which almost made me laugh a snotcylce out) then went back to the original starting point in front of the store and did some zombie lunge walk. At this point my fingers were numb and my legs really felt funny so I pulled an Oklahoma and did a bunch of SSH-this quickly returned blood to my fingers which made me want to keep doing them (sorry Linus, my fingers needed that). We did some more lunges then moseyed back to start for a few minutes of Mary plus a frozen cockroach. I succeeded in avoiding the escalating burpee/lap run on my Weinke so I was relieved to be finished.

The cold weather really takes some of the fun out of this for me, however if I did not have the pax to work out with, I would clearly be at home in my fartsack. Instead, I had a half hour of running before the workout with a couple great guys, learned something about cold fingers and SSHs, and got a chance to talk about F3 with Defib and some non-F3 people on the way to a lunch meeting after finding the medicine ball in my back seat. Thanks for showing up and posting.

We ended with announcements: Q school Jan 16 with some community service after for those able to stick around, Yeti in Feb, Congrats to Boss Hogg on the grandchild and a few others I cannot remember.

Great seeing everyone this am. If you need me, I’ll be at Dick’s getting some long, cold-weather running pants, earmuffs, mittens, a scarf, goggles, and a pair of yak-lined running shoes.
