Hanging

Today was supposed to be Dry Rub’s Q, but he texted YHC and asked if I could sub since he had to be at work early.

So now…. what to do.

Remembering a Q by Rudolph, and since we have moved to “Level 2.5”, (the  playground is open), lets revisit some of that.

0530 hits with 6 joining YHC.  No FNGs – No Disclaimer.  Just The Pledge.

We Rucked, stopping at the playground to hang for as long as you can or 30 secs.

Repeat for a total of 3 times.  As YHC recalls, hanging was supposed to be good for the body or soul or something.  Ask Rudolph.

0600 hits and Les needs to check out early.

We escort him back and continue on to the bottom of Gastone’s hill and back.

Stops were made along the path for some squats too.

By the time all were assembled back at the start, we were in OT…. OOOOPs.

IPC Week 2 @ Prison Break

8 men definitely took a wrong turn and ended up at Cloninger Park for Week 2 of IronPax Challenge.  Shout to Slaw and Huckleberry for being there to proctor, encourage and mumblechatter.

 

The really short version of the workout:

It really sucks (and not in a good way).  Rep count for those that went the entire 43 minutes ranged from 440 – 625.

 

The short version of what was done:

  • Place coupon at Shovel Flag.  Start timer.  Complete a 400m run that starts and ends at Shovel Flag (do not carry block)
  • Pick up block and complete 10 Thrusters at the Shovel Flag
  • Rifle carry coupon to cone A (please completely move beyond/around cone)
  • Complete 25 Decline Merkins at cone A
  • Rifle carry coupon back to Shovel Flag (please completely move beyond/around Shovel Flag)
  • Complete 10 Thrusters at the Shovel Flag
  • Rifle carry coupon to cone B
  • Complete 25 Blockees at cone B
  • Rifle carry coupon back to Shovel Flag
  • Complete 10 Thrusters at the Shovel Flag
  • Rifle carry coupon to cone C
  • Complete 25 Weighted Squats at cone C
  • Rifle carry coupon back to Shovel Flag
  • Complete 10  Thrusters at the Shovel Flag

Prison Break’s Alternate ID

11 escaped the mileage of Prison Break to give Week 0 of the Iron Pack Challenge a go.

This week’s challenge…

For time:

4 Rounds of:

50 Squats
40 Big Boys
30 Merkins
20 Bonnie Blairs
10 Burpees
400 Meter Mosey

All pushed and were pushed.

IPC Warmup?

It went a something like this:

Pledge

WarmUp:

10 SSH IC
20 Plank Jacks OYO
10 SSH IC
10 MNC OYO

Tube took PainLab, YHC took GasHouse.

We headed for Ollie’s.  Stopping twice for 10 Squats and 10 Monkey Humpers.  Once at the corner and another at the only street (circle) between here and there.

Four Corners were setup:

Corner 1:
10 Merkins
20 LBC
30 SSH

Corner 2:
10 Stagger Merkins (R arm higher)
20 Freddie Mercuries
30 IW

Corner 3:
10 HRM
20 Some Ab Exercise I already forgot
30 Plank Jacks

Corner 4:
10 Stagger Merkins (R arm lower)
20 Big Boys
30 Hillbillies

Start at the light pole in the middle. 1 Burpee,  Mosey to Corner 1 and complete.  Back to Light pole for 2 Burpees,  Mosey to Corner 2 and complete, etc.

We stopped after we got to 8 burpees or 2 rounds.

Collected all the papers and met at the light pole for 10 burpees before starting back.  Again we stopped at the same 2 spots for 10 squats and 10 monkey humpers.

Since there was still a good bit of time left, YHC threw in some wall sitting, derkins, plank jacks, etc before actually making to the flag.

Here we did of a round of call an exercise.  The PAX does the exercise while the caller does 12 merkins.   2 laps around the parking lot and a little Mary to complete the time.

Roll of the Dice

5 had joined YHC when 0530 hits.

All were experienced in the ways of F3, so almost no disclaimer was given before we recited The Pledge of Allegiance.

Warm Up

20 SSH IC
10 MNC IC

Lets mosey down Riverwood Parkway, stopping at every 3rd light for 10 calf raises and 10 monkey humpers.  We ran out of poles near the Dollar General, so lets go over the Food Lion.

Main Event

YHC pulls out 2 Dice.  Die #1 determines the exercise.  Die #2 determines the number of reps.  The opposite side of Die #2 determines the number of poles the number  of reps must be done at. (There are 6 light poles in the parking lot) (Opposite sides of a die always add to 7 (6/1, 5/2, 4/3)

Exercises:

1 – Merkin
2 – Squat
3 – LBC
4 – CDD
5 – Calf Raise
6 – American Hammer

Each PAXturn has a cash-in of 2 burpees and a cash-out of 2 burpees.

So if a PAX roles snake eyes (1 on both dice).  Everyone would do:

2 Burpees, 1 Merkin at every light pole (6), 2 Burpees

Round 2 doubles the reps rolled, the rest remains the same.
Round 3 triples the reps rolled…

We made it into round 3, before a mosey back to the start.

Once back, there was time for a final roll and a little Mary.

Main Event

We mosey straight down South Street a few blocks until you get to the building with parking underneath.

Partner up for some DORA.
P1 does the exercise, P2 up the stairs and around the bldg back to P1, then flap jack.
Complete the following:
100 Merkins
200 Squats
300 LBCs
400 MNCs

Somewhere in here Tube started to not feel well and exited.  Hope he is feeling better.

Going North on South Street, between 2nd and Franklin, Nur, but stop at every wooden pole on left and do increasing Burpees.  That’s seven poles for those that are keeping count.

Move over to the parking lot for some 11s.

Mosey on up South Street, back to where we started for a few minutes of Mary.

Let’s take Delilah dancing

When 0530 hit this morn, 4 had joined YHC.  Still no Les Nessman, but maybe next week.  Dry Rub was given an excused absence for work, but where were Voodoo and HIPAA?

Anyway the show must go on.

We knocked out the pledge and headed for Planet Fitness.

Here everyone took Delilah for a spin around the parking lot while the rest of us AMRAP’d an exercise.

From here, we rucked over near the abandoned car wash for some wall sits with ruck on the front.

Its again time for everyone to have some one-on-one time with Delilah.  Take her to the Union Road and back while everyone else AMRAP’d a different set of exercises.

A quick wall sit before setting off to ruck back to the start, “cutting” through the neighborhood.

Unfortunately, the wolverine we encountered in the neighborhood caused us to be 5 mins late getting back. DOH!

Bunnies and Bears

YHC looked at the weather last night expecting to see wet for the gloom from the Isaias, but saw none.  So the original plan was still on.  Here is how it went…

0530 arrives with 8 joining YHC.  A little light from the normal, so I guess Isaias scared some off.  A really brief disclaimer is given before completing The Pledge of Allegiance.

Announcing a Termite-style warm-up, we take off for a mosey.  ~1300 meters later we arrive at Robinwood Crossing Shopping Center.

And what do our wondrous eyes see, you ask?

Someone has vandalized the parking lot, F3 style and left some coupons to boot!

Complete the exercise, mosey to Planet Fitness, perform 1 burpee and then proceed to the next parking spot.

Now back to the regular programming for another round.

With a whole 90 seconds to spare after completing round 2, the coupons were gathered and all reassembled where we began.

Sauna at Painlab

6 Hims showed up for a sauna at Painlab. Tophat, Double stuff, Rudolph, Clavin, Hermie and Tube. The start was normal with your usual workouts, until I worked into my 2nd round of kettle swings. Pulled by back and went to my knees. Rudolph immediately jumped in for Q with my Blessings. I came back in gently and We finished strong. Rudolph will be showing proper technique on kettle swings next Painlab.
