The Storm 8/18/2020

15 at The Storm.

 

Warm-Up:

10 Burpees

 

The Thang:

Mosey to the big parking lot to the side of the school.  Start on the concrete walkway at the front of the parking lot, facing the length of the lot.  Start with 10 Burpees.  Mosey to 1st island for 20 Big Boys, return to start.  10 Burpees, run to 2nd island for 20 Big Boys, 30 Freddie Mercuries, back to start. 10 Burpees, run to 3rd island for 20 Big Boys, 30 Freddie Mercuries, 40 American Hammers, run back.  10 Burpees, run to 4th island, 20 BB, 30 FM, 40 AH, 50 LBCs, run back.  Finally do 10 Burpees, run to 5th island for 20 BB, 30 FM, 40 AH, 50 LBCs, 60 Flutter Kicks, return to start and finish with 10 Burpees.

 

Short mosey to the corner of the parking lot at school.  4 corner escalator is the next exercise using the entire parking lot as our square.  Start with 10 Hand Release Merkins.  Mosey to corner 2 for 10 HR Merkins, 20 Jump Lunges.  Mosey to 3rd corner for 10 HR Merkins, 20 Jump Lunges, 30 CDD.  Mosey to 4th corner for 10 HR Merkins, 20 Jump Lunges, 30 CDD, 40 Squats.  With plenty of time, we would go back down.  Start with 40 Squats, 30 CDD, 20 Jump Lunges, 10 HR Merkins.  Mosey to next corner for 30 CDD, 20 Jump Lunges, 10 HR Merkins.  Next corner is 20 Jump Lunges, 10 HR Merkins.  Mosey to final corner for 10 HR Merkins.

 

With a little time to spare, we stayed at the school for the next exercise.  Start with 10 Step-Ups, 10 Dips, 10 Derkins.  Then do 15 Steps-Ups, 15 Dips, 15 Derkins.  Finish is out with 20 Step-Ups, 20 Dips, 20 Derkins.  Mosey back to COT.  Time!

08/25 Storm

19 men joined YHC for my first Q at the Storm in a couple of years.  Some nice conversation beforehand and at 05:29 Dirt hollered let’s go.  Patience my friend.  I was showing we had a minute.  Any way, let’s boogie.  Time to clock in.

First exercise is… no, wait.  Let’s do Moroccan Nightclubs while Termite takes his sweet time.

Warmup: Toy Soldiers and Imperial Walkers both X 15IC

Pledge

Mosey to the school and partner up. Dora 1,2,3,4,5.
100 – Jackass Merkins
200 – Air Dramas
300 – Australian Mountain Climbers
400 – Flutter Kicks
500 – LBCs

Quick mosey back to the launching point.  YHC had a few other ideas, but decided on 10 minutes of Mary.
Typical Mary thangs.  Doodles led us in 22 for the Vets.

TIME!

NMM: really appreciate Dirt allowing me to Q this morning.  This is a nice AO with a ton of rock pushers. It’s also not fair to let Buckeye and Dr. Seuss be partners.

VQ at Storm and it was a great workout. Large turnout was appreciated. Everyone enjoyed the workout. We almost got out with 0 burpees but “someone” snuck it in at the end.

40 team Worst Merkin Ever with run

5 burpees to finish

 

Back and Forth

Since I hadn’t posted at The Storm in a while, I figured the best way to return would be with the Q. 16 PAX decided to join YHC for a little back and forth workout around the school. After the disclaimer, pledge and a short warmup here’s what happened….

 

Head over to the front of the school and get started.

25 Dirty Hookups IC

Run a lap around across the parking lot and back stopping at each island for a Burpee.

25 Derkins

Lap

Rinse and repeat

 

We then headed off on an Indian Run around the school with the last man dropping off for 2 Burpee’s. We made a quick stop at the loading dock for a Triple Nickel.

5 Diamond Merkins, run and jump on the dock for 5 Jump Squats then back down the ramp x5.

 

Continue with the Indian Run back the way we came to make sure that everyone had a chance to get in their Burpee’s. We’re back to where it all started, but this time we did a little Dora.

Partner 1 runs the same loop as before, but no Burpee’s.

100 – Hip Slappers

200 – Big Boys

300 – Flutter kicks

 

Finished things up just in time.

I’m Broke

The Storm – July 21, 2020

It was March, the last time I had “Q” at an AO. I was a little rusty and it shows in my backblast.

I gave the disclaimer and then we heard the train so we all performed 5 burpees.

We went on a good half-mile mosey to the other side of the school where we circled up for the warm-up exercises.

WARM UP
SSH (25 IC)
MNC (10 IC)
Low Slow Squat (10)
Plank Jacks (20 IC)
Diamond Merkins (10 IC)

After the warm-up we did 11’s. I thought it would not take long, but it took the whole time. We started at the circle of the main entrance to the school and ran to Lakewood Road. We did merkins and jump squats.

When Dr. Seuss and Oblivious finished up I decided to head back to COT for a little ab work. We did LBCs and then Wet Nuts wanted us to end on 10 burpees so we did that.

Bricks, Bricks and more Bricks!

15 Pax showed up for a challenging day of humidity. We started with a one mile run out of the storm of which I said, “wait don’t forget your bricks”. Everyone reluctantly grabbed two. Half a mile the knuckles start dragging the ground and most cut the run short… somehow I ended up getting there last because I took the long way! (old people rule and set by example).. Once we got back it went as follows:

  • Figure 8 style with your bricks I might add.,, first corner: LBC AND FREDDY MERCURY 5X EACH, LITTLE GUMBY IN THE WOODS AND STAR JACKS 5X, MOROCCAN KNIGHT CLUBS AND SHOULDER PRESS 5X (DID I MENTION WITH THE BRICKS), BURPEES AND WERKINS 5X, with 8 total rounds representing figure 8 proudly… and did I mention with the bricks?
  • Mosey to the big hill behind the football fields down the gravel road for some 11″s the Fort Mill guy “IT” says more burpees so burpees at bottom and squats at the top. About half way through ran out of time and mosied on back with our bricks in hands through the entire journey.
  • Prayer request: Tigers family, our great police officers, Sister Act and crew.
  • Tongues hanging out we allowed the bricks to rest ! Thanks guys you are awesome.

Fife being new to F3 on Monday was wondering where THE GOAT was. So 13 pax ran over there this morning to show him.

Warm-up:

25 Hand Release Merkins

25 Plank Jack’s

25 Hand Release Merkins

25 Mountain Climbers

 

Mosey the long way to the roundabout up on the main road with the sculpture.  Next exercise called here;

10 Rounds

5 Burpees

10 Hand Release Merkins or curb dips

15 Squats/Bobby Hurley’s/Tiger Squats(pax choice)

5th and 9th round bear Crawl to middle of roundabout and back out.

Mosey to roundabout down the hill in front of school.  Here perform 50 LBCs.  Then NUR to loading dock on other side of school.  Partner up.  Got in 1 1/2 rounds of Partner 1 AMRAP Hand Release Merkins, Partner 2 jumps up and down on loading dock 5 times.  Then switch

Mosey to wall on side of school.  Wall sit with 25 air presses.  25 Calf Raises. 10 Vertical Wall Jumps.  Mosey to flag!  Time.

Fastest Workout and Backblast Ever

So Buckeye, Seuss and YHC got in a few miles EC before the beatdown to warm up. It worked.

Last night the PAX of Gashouse were informed that Sargentogeddon would occur today. What that means is a workout to end all workouts. No more Storm. It’s been fun!

Mosey to the tennis courts. Oh no, they’re locked! Mosey to the small circle in front of the school and do a countoff.

Sargentogeddon:

After counting off, the PAX would:

Round 1 – Sprint to from road hump to road hump and do 20 merkins at each one. Wait for the 6 at the stop sign. Mosey to the artwork, try to do a countoff then bear crawl around the artwork. Our hands got good and brick colored doing this. Mosey back to the start.

Round 2 – Karaoke to each hump and do 25 squats. After the 2nd on skip to the rest and the stop sign. Mosey to the artwork, wait for the 6, try to do another countoff then mosey home.

Round 3 – Nur to each hump, do 33.3 LBCs and wait at the stop sign. Mosey to the artwork, try not to get hit by the traffic then all the way back to the shovel flag.

Countoff one last time when the 6 arrives. Good work men, especially those who kept up with the 6, there were plenty.
