No Turtleman Q

Last week at Sandlot the Pax decided Turtleman was going to Q and i was the backup, since i am writing this back blast, you know no Turtleman

Let’s get started – i had planned to to the PT test since i didn’t make it Saturday but changed my mind at the last min.   Let’s go….

Pledge

Warm up: in cadence  LBC x15 and Merkins x 10

Mosey to soccer field 2 for some 4 corners consisting of 4 exercise starting at 10 reps up to 40 reps

quick 10 count (10) and repeat in reverse (same on field 3 and 4)

Mosey to soccer field 3 and repeat the 4 corners letting the pax choose their favorite or least favorite exercise for the corners (diamond merkins, ??,squats, & flutters)

(in the middle of  the said exercise i realized someone will be 50 this week so we increased the reps to 50 in his honor – field 3 and 4

Mosey to soccer field 4 and repeat the 4 corners letting the pax choose their favorite or least favor exercise for the corners (Moroccan nightclubs, burpees, Michael Phelps, imperial walkers)

with about 10 minutes left we headed over to field 1 but don’t have time for 4 corners so we would sprint the long sides and suicides on the short sides – man look at that we are running behind so we did one side each because we had to take the long way back.

Arrived back the start with no time to spare! 6:15 and we done!

Announcements: PT test was last Saturday, Up coming Mt Mitchell trip in September

Prayer request: Gastone’s father in law, the ones struggling with addictions, other spoken and unspoken request

YHC closed in prayer
-it was a struggle for me. 4 years ago on this date, I walked in from posting to my M screaming & crying into her phone. She had gotten the news that her sweet Lauren was in a bad car accident & didn’t make it. Trauma does crazy things to your body. My rock is extra heavy & will not move. But I glad to have all of you cheering me on & helping me. Until next time, T-Square out

Shoulder Destroyer

It’s quite a drive to Sandlot for YHC so it’s been a while since my last post there. Seems like they work the legs and arms pretty hard based on the backblasts, so I decided to give the shoulders and upper back a good beating this morning. Stroganoff and Dirt got in a little EC and 11 total PAX at 0530. Disclaimer, Pledge, Warm up and off we go.

Mosey down Riverwood Drive stopping at each cross road for 5 Burpee’s then head to the lot at Food Lion.

Quick round of Ab work consisting of 20 LBC’s (IC), 20 Flutter’s (IC) and 10 Big Boys (OYO) then over to the wall.

Partner Dora

100 Dirty Hookups

200 Hip Slappers

300 Merkins

This sucked! Shoulders were smoked after this, but there was still plenty of time left and more on the Weinke.

Another round of Ab work (same as above) to give our upper body a chance to recover and then over to the lot at Planet Fitness for a Quarter Pounder.

Run 25 yds, 25 Werkins, NUR back

Run 50 yds, 50 American Hammers, NUR back

Run 75 yds, 75 squats, NUR back

Living Right is HARD

Galatians 6:9 – “Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.”

Doing good is hard work and at times we all doubt whether it matters. At times it can often seem overwhelming and start to feel like there is so much to do that we can’t possibly do enough. As Christ followers, we must trust in Him and rely on Him for our strength so that we can persevere and reap the reward of eternal life.

Sandlot and Neverland are great AO’s with lots of areas to work. The regulars here are a great group of PAX and if you haven’t had a chance to post here try to work it in soon. You’ll be glad you did. Thanks for the opportunity to lead and the push from each of the PAX this morning.

I’m Broke

Blood Everywhere

Good crowd this am-little mumble chatter, lot of work, and then there was blood…..keep reading.

We started with a simple disclaimer…because that is what we do. We all claim to be idiots…..and we are not wrong. However………I’m not sure what point I was going to make so maybe I’ll just stop there. As I am not very fond of warmups, I kept it short this am. We did some SSH, flutter kicks, then Merkins and then took off like a flash…..and then stopped quickly for the Pledge. Then we took off like a flash…..again, heading for “the hill” (insert threatening music:da da daaaaaaa). On the way there we may have done some plank or other exercises just to keep the group together. Upon arrival to “the hill” (again, insert threatening music: da da daaaaaaaa), instructions were given to partner up, but keep some distance. We would start at the bottom and P1 would run to mailbox #1, do 10 Merkins then run back to start. P2 would be doing AMRAP any ab exercise until P1 returned at which time they would swap duties (not doodies, remember-keep your distance). We would escalate to 20 Merkins, then 30 Merkins and then after Defib agreed with an evil smile (again, threatening music: da da daaaaaaa), we did 40 Merkins. There were some complimentary phrases that were spoken about the Q (aka: me) during this time, but I’ll keep those to myself as this is a “family show” right?

After completing the above fun stuff, we moseyed back to start with some plank and jump squats along the way. When we got back to start I asked Easy Rider (I think) to pick a spot on the wall, any wall, at Pelicans. We kept our partners, and P1 stayed at the wall. Somehow we picked Gastone’s name for the car part of this and the exercise was for P1 to do AMRAP HIP SCHLAPPERS (all caps means you have to YELL that while you are reading-tell your M I said your welcome if she gives you grief for this while you are reading this now) while P2 bear crawls to Gastone’s Prius (he lost his man card and now drives his sister’s Prius) then mosey back. It was at about 3 HIP SCHLAPPERS that I heard TSquare scream like someone was pulling his toenail’s off. It was awful. I looked up as I heard something about “ketchup” to see TSquare tilt his head back while this red stuff was spraying out of his face covering everyone in sight with blood. Stroganoff fainted and Gastone started doing mouth to mouth on him. Defib jumped into action and did chest compressions on Dry Rub, although Dry Rub was not really having any problems at all. I think Defib’s reflexes just kicked in and he felt like he needed to do something. There was too much blood to get close to TSquare. Outhouse took off running with Time Frame into the woods. I think the blood made them nauseated. They came back a little while later once the bleeding had stopped.  Easy Rider, Watts Up, and Steubing kept on hip schlapping like there was nothing going on at all. Finally the bleeding stopped when TSquare shoved half a towel up his nose-it looked painful but got the job done. So much for schlappers……TSquare is not allowed to do those any more.

We moseyed to Clavin’s hill in the park next. At the bottom we did 5 Merkins then climbed the hill and did 10 Mountain Climbers then back to start. After 5 more Merkins we went up for 20 Mountain Climbers. We repeated this for I think 30 then 40 Mountain Climbers with 5 Merkins between each set. I think we did more mountain climbers but can’t remember how many-seems like it was a lot. My stomach was still a little upset about what happened with the Hip Schlappers, TSquare’s nosebleed, and the interaction (pick whatever one you want) that happened in the parking lot. I really just wanted to get away from these guys at this point so I started to run…but they kept following me…..all the way to the picnic tables. We passed Stroganoff’s mom and aunt. I made sure they knew some dude named Steven Long was my hero. Mom’s like that kind of stuff….even when it’s not true (especially when it’s not true). Mom’s often know they have a loser for a son but for a fleeting moment they can smile and live in that fantasy world that makes them think their son is something special…..not that this was one of those times though (wink wink).

At the tables we did some step ups and Derkins until Defib picked the right number. We moseyed back to start with some jump squats along the way then finished with the COT.

We had a quick namorama, prayer for family members of PAX and several PAX as well, and then took off. Not sure, but I think there was some ketchup on the wall. Hopefully it will rain soon.

Rock Pushing at The Sandlot

I volunteered to Q at The Sandlot to start off the week right so I drive from NOGA to SOGA to get some work in on a muggy 75 degrees with 80% humidity. That’s why it is called The Gloom!

Warm Up
SSH, Cotton Pickers, Low Slow Squats, MNC’s all x 10 IC

PLEDGE

Mosey around the new Planet Fitness parking lot and back to the rock pit. Everyone select a rock and fellowship mosey to bank parking lot.

Partner Up for Rocky Dora (I made that up).
100 Triceps Extensions, 200 Chest Presses on your six, 300 Curls while your partner runs around the bank and back and switch after each lap. Use your own block and Slaw chose poorly. Hard working group this morning with not a lot of mumblechatter. It could be possible that I have gotten used to a ridiculously high amount of mumblechatter and this morning was closer to the norm.

Mosey to the bottom of the Park’s parking lot for four corners.
5 Burpees, mosey to next corner.
10 LBC’s IC (called by Slaw), 5 Burpees, next.
15 Squats IC (called with varying degrees of speed by Watts Up), 10 LBC’s IC, 5 Burpees, next.
20 Merkins IC (Yes I said in cadence, called by Gastone), 15 Squats IC, 10 LBC’s IC, 5 Burpees, back down.
15 Squats IC, 10 LBC’s IC, 5 Burpees, next.
10 LBC’s IC, 5 Burpees, next.
5 Burpees. That may be a record number of Burpees in one of my Q’s. I’m not happy about it but Sister Act has been pushing me lately.

Mosey to a picnic shelter for what was supposed to be 80 D’s but modified to 40 D’s for time.
10 Dips, 10 Derkins, 10 Dying Cockroaches, 10 Diamond Merkins.

Mosey back.

Quick word about F3 stance on recent events that you may have seen but is worth repeating.
F3 Core principle. F3 is open to ALL men.
“A statement is not needed, our leadership is what’s needed… we’ve got to figure out, in each of our spheres of influence, how we will step into the void that exists where leadership should be. I’m not saying we should run for office, though that may be one way to do it. I’m not saying we shouldn’t pray, as certainly there is power there. I’m saying we must become something different. We must learn from these things that we are facing and strive to be better. We must embody grace and mercy and love, as that is what virtuous leadership should be built on.”
Now get missional, quit worrying about your little baby feelings and your ego, AND GET TO LEADING! We have been preparing for the times like these, men! This is our day. A few weeks ago when F3 made shirts that read “The Gloom Belongs To Us” ….that wasn’t just the morning Gloom we were talking about. Look around, the leadership situation in our world is GLOOMY. This is what we’ve been knowingly or unknowingly getting ready for. If you believe in what F3 stands for, then let’s get invigorated and get to work.”
Again… Core principle. F3 is open to ALL men.

Prayer Requests Dry Rub’s M is doing better. Clavin’s M, Sister Act’s daughter, Whoopee’s daughter, Stinky Bird’s foot, Roscoe, Stone Cold, Allen Tate and all police officers and our country.

COT Gastone took us out!

**NMM Thanks for coming out this morning guys! It was a nice time. I asked Slaw to pick up the six for me but everyone was right with us the entire workout. Way to push the rock!

Memorial Day @ the SandLot

A slew of us posted at the Sandlot on Memorial day Monday, so off the cuff we went.  We did a little warm-up @ Pelican’s and off we mosied to the playground for a mini-Murph.  This was 25-50-75.  We broke it down to the common 5-10-15. All reps were done simultaneously by all attending F3 PAX.  Afterwards, a lap around the baseball fields returned us to the Picnic shelter parking area.   We decided on three exercises to repeat for some sets.  Big Boys….. are all I can remember (sorry Watts Up, this is why we are diligent.)  Do a set of three, head to the picnic shelter for some work, then run to the next island for the same set of work.  Return to the picnic shelter after each set.  We put in a little work for 45 minutes in the gloom then called it a day.

No Namerama, Yes COT

Happy Memorial day (a little late)!  A “mini-Murph” doesn’t even begin to show the amount of honor owed to Navy SEAL officer Michael P. Murphy, but a forever grateful thanks to all the men and women of our nation who fought and died for our wonderful country.

7 11’s

Well it’s been awhile since I have Q’d at Sandlot….heck, been awhile since I’ve Q’d period. Got into a slump…whatever. It was good to be back out here with a little responsibility instead of fartsacking or just posting. I was not nervous, more embarrassed that it has been so long. I got over it and showed up almost late….forgot my gloves and had to run back to truck to get them. Howdy FNG, let’s get started.

Introduction, 5 rules of F3 for the FNG compliments of Sargento then PLEDGE and  warm up: SSH, Merkins….don’t get up yet……mountain climbers, big boy situps, then we are off. Mosey to 7/11 for 7 elevens: 11 Merkins on 1 end, mosey through the gas fumes to the other side then 11 Big Boy situps on the other end for a total of 7 sets of exercises. Plan was to mosey to the dilapidated pharmacy but too much traffic and not interested in Frogger this am-OMAHA to the Planet Fitness parking lot and mosey around half way, lie on the ground and feel how comfortable the new parking lot it (take that Folsom, it. felt. GOOOOOOOOOD.) Get up and mosey around to the wall for some (thank you Watts Up) HIP SLAPPERS!!! 3 rounds of 10 reps with mosey across the lot between sets then heck, why not? Do a 4th set of hip slappers then mosey on over to Food Dawg for some 3LB…..what is 3LB you ask????? Why let me tell you…3 Lunges (right, left, right) then a burpee. 3 lunges then 2 burpees, 3 lunges then 3 burpees…..We went to the 3rd light pole thanks to Sargento. After hitting 5 burpees we Omaha’d to 6 lunges because I was almost crying. We moseyed back to Planet Fitness for some Bulldog Merkins (legs on the wall like a Dirty Hookup straightened out then 3 merkins) then mosey across the lot and back. Think we did 3 sets: note to self-put hands back a little or else it is a problem. Next, mosey to the loading dock for Sumo Squats X 10 then run to loading dock, up, then mosey back with plank until 6 arrives. We did this 3-4 times I think. Time was running short so we headed to the walls for dips and step ups then back to start for some Mary.

Time up-named our FNG: Packerooney, nice guy. Hope he comes back Sargento. I think he’s got a lot of potential.

COT then hit the road.

Gotta run, not much time for my usual BS in the backblast. Enjoyed it and been too long

Whoopee

I guess I will take it….

5 and a 1/2 Credit for a surprise even to Gastone Q.

The Thang:

SSH 20

Merkins 10

Imperial Walker 20

Mountain Climbers 20

Grass Picker’s 5 (The only point of this was to watch Whoopee’s reaction, the disgust he has for Grass pickers)

Mosey to Vallywood Road and to the corner with Rivermont Drive.

Each mailbox on the right 20 Squats, we made it to 160 total.

Then we switched to the much easier Monkey Humpers 20 at each. 5 mailboxes.

20 yard lunge. (Mubbe Chatter really was just starting to come in)

Mosey across Union to Withers Funeral home parking lot.

11’s in the parking lot. Merkin’s and Crunchy Frog.

Pledge

Then mosey to an end parking space. 1st guy give me a arm exercise, move to next space and guy for a Ab workout, move to next space for a leg. Rinse and repeat unti the 20 spaces were finished.

Mosey back to the start.

The Moleskin:

This morning was listed as open but I did not know that. Watts Up and I decided since Whoopee was pulling up that he would be Q. Then he was running and would take all on a run. We quickly ignored him and then I took the Q.

Good morning with a great group of guys. Always an honor.

Prayer requests.
