Sweat

There were 6 strong men who showed for the Storm.last Tuesday. This is what I remember…

There were some of Stuart Cramer students hanging out yelling about their “beach day”. At 5:30 in the morning, that’s a heck of an early start but school’s almost out! Good for them!

Warm-Up: Goof Balls x15 IC, Imperial Walkers x15 IC, 5 burpees for the passing train.

Pledge

Bring Mary Up (Gastone version where we hold 6″ and raise them up when told). Feel the burn!

Mosey (very short) over to the wide sidewalk for a round of Blackjack. At one end we start with 20 merkins, run to the other end for 1 LBC. Back and forth, 19 & 2, 18 & 3, etc. This really started to suck around 13 or 14 reps of merkins so YHC offered an omaha switch to squats for those that wanted it. I did! This was a real sweat maker.

A short mosey closer to the school, we stayed on the wide sidewalk for a round of Dora 123. Partner up for 100 dips, 200 flutter kicks & 300 side straddle hops. The non-exercising partner would run down to the beach bums and back while the other did their thing. Good sweat!

Last mosey back to the start for the Lovely Day routine with Bill Withers. Hold plank position and do a mountain climber each time they say Lovely Day. We got about 3 minutes through it when time was up.

Thank you for letting me lead you again men. It was  pleasure as always.

Moleskin: I wanted to Q a last time before some dental surgery that will keep me out for a week or more. It will be hard to be away but I know all our PAX will represent until I return. Hold down the fort men, you are the BEST!

SFN… HELP Kids, GROW F3 Nation ~ JRR Tolkien & Tool Time

The Accumulator

6 showed in the gloom at the Storm, while many of the usual suspects were still in their fartsacks.  Light version of the disclaimer was given and warm up ignored as usual.

Pledge

Warm Up:

No time in the schedule for a workout, I know big surprise here right. Long mosey around the soccer field, by the high school, ending at the ball fields.  One train passed and 5 Burpees conducted mid mosey.

The Thang:

Some of the pax who have been to my workouts previously know that being by the ball fields usually means cinderblocks.  Had to break a few hearts today and let them know there would be no blocks in this workout.  Some where relieved, but those that know YHC best might have had some fear in their eyes.  On to the workout.

The Accumulator:  Perform exercise 1 for 1 minute and rest 30 seconds. Perform exercise 2 for 1 minute and exercise 1 for 1 minute, then rest 30 seconds.  Continue accumulating exercises until 7 are preformed.  Workout went like this…

  • 60 seconds of Burpees
    • 30 seconds of rest
  • 60 seconds of Squats & 60 seconds of Burpees
    • 30 seconds of rest
  • 60 seconds of Shoulder Taps, 60 seconds of Squats & 60 seconds of Burpees
    • 30 seconds of rest
  • 60 seconds of SSH, 60 seconds of Shoulder Taps, 60 seconds of Squats & 60 seconds of Burpees
    • 30 seconds of rest
  • 60 seconds of Flutter Kicks, 60 seconds of SSH, 60 seconds of Shoulder Taps, 60 seconds of Squats & 60 seconds of Burpees
    • 120 seconds of moseying (to parking lot and back)
  • 60 seconds of Merkins, 60 seconds of Flutter Kicks, 60 seconds of SSH, 60 seconds of Shoulder Taps, 60 seconds of Squats & 60 seconds of Burpees
    • 120 seconds of moseying (to entrance of first bridge and back)
  • 60 seconds of Crunchy Frogs (not to be confused with Country Frogs), 60 seconds of Merkins, 60 seconds of Flutter Kicks, 60 seconds of SSH, 60 seconds of Shoulder Taps, 60 seconds of Squats & 60 seconds of Burpees

We did lose a man before set 7.  I hope he was able to find a suitable toilet, because the suggestions from the pax were all deemed unworthy.  Not sure what this individual had against trash cans, but godspeed to him.

With 7 sets finished and a slow mosey back to the flag we finished right on time.

Announcements:

  • Mud Run this weekend!

Prayer Request:

Thanks to those who braved the gloom and pushed me once again today.  We don’t fight off the fartsack for ourselves, we fight it off for our brothers in the gloom.

Monster Mile

7 Pax in the Gloom to start today. 2 showed up while we were 2 sets into the warmup. ShortSale and Westpoint you still owe 19 Burpees.

Warmup; 10 burpees, next exercise is 9 burpees; disclaimer for FNG. Welcome Westpoint glad you’re here. Next exercise is 8 burpees, next exercise is 7 burpees and you get the idea down to 2, on the last set which should have been 1 YHC called 10 burpees. Definitely heard some trains through this so I think we are caught up. AYE. Nice work men. Thanks OBT, appreciate you sharing this one.

Pledge

Mosey to the football field and stopped at the bottom of the ramp for 15 Donkey Kicks IC. Continue to track for the MONSTER MILE. Run track, when you come to the home side bleachers hit the all the stairs (up and down same flight split by handrail) and continue lap, repeat for 4 laps. We had another train on the second lap in the middle of the stairs- 5 burpees- Strong work by all. YHC told Pax to plank it up at the goal line when complete for the six. Next pax were asked to partner up and fireman carry to the 20, switch positions to the 40. Bring it back with wheelbarrows. Circle up at endzone for SSH x 15 IC, Mericans x 15 IC, and WW1 x 12 OYO. Pax line up on goal line for 50 yd sprint. Mayor let out a “somebody cut him”. #DRP for all!!! Run back to shovel flag. Time.

Moleskin; Shadrap made the trip down to the Rock for their 3 year convergence and knew pretty quick what the warmup was, nice to have you back out brother. All pax enjoyed this warmup, think it will stick. The monster mile proves to be a challenge for sure. This definitely felt like hitting a wall. Thanks for push ShortSale. All pax pushed hard and got it done. Then the partner work we were at 9 and a fight almost broke out between Tophat and Mayor, but the Mayor lost and Tophat bear crawled and lunged. Way to push it Tophat, #TClaps. Couple of warmup exercises to keep things moving, then finished with an all out 50 yrd sprint. Westpoint got some wheels. We put in 2.25 miles, #DRP. Thanks for oppurtunity to lead you men, #ISI.

COT; Announcements, Prayer requests, Naming of FNG Westpoint. Namorama

BOM; TopHat, thanks for taking us out.

Cores and More

10 PAX showed up at the Storm today to put in some work.  I hate to admit it, but I was less than prepared to lead today.  Admittedly, I didn’t put a lot of thought into the workout, and pulled it together by stealing bits and pieces of workouts from previously posted back blasts.  I’d also like to apologize again to Mayor for silencing him when he was really just trying to build morale… #mayorlove. I’d go into more detail, but if you want to know these inside quips you need to show to know.  Let that be motivation for all you fartsackers out there to get posting.  Bottom line, I will do better next time.  Ok enough apologizing, here’s what went down at the Storm.

No FNG’s so no disclaimer

Recon Paid Off

YHC showed at The Storm 25 minutes early to find the appropriate spot for the planned workout.  We always mosey by or around the soccer field there, but since YHC has started posting, I’ve never seen it used.  This would be the perfect location for the planned workout, but to my dismay all the gates are locked and a sign clearly reads “No Access without Permission of the Athletic Director”.  Well the thought of climbing over the 5 foot fence flashed through my head, but the recent run in with the police at the Yank makes me think maybe that’s not the best idea.  Lets see if we can find any other sports fields unlocked for use.  I figure if the soccer field is locked, there is no way the football stadium is open, but lets check anyways.  All gates securely pad locked, but whats that I see.  A super secret entrance that might be open?????? I quickly mosey through here and there and yes its OPEN!  Head on back to the pax and lets get this thing started.

Pledge

Warm Up:

Omaha.  I’m so excited, I don’t know what to do with myself.  Follow Me!

I led the pax through here and there and through the super secret entrance.  Some might consider this omaha’d warm up a workout, but it definitely got us warm.  Here’s what we did.  Stadiums: Snaked up and down the stairs of the stadium bleachers at you fastest pace hitting every step.  Finish with 10 Burpees at the start.  Rinse and Repeat 3 times.

The Thang:

We moseyed back out the super secret entrance and to the parking lot for some corners work.  I really wanted to do this down on the football field, but didn’t want overload the pax on our new playground all in the first day.

We started at one island in the parking lot, traversed two rows then exercised, traversed the length then exercises, traversed the opposite two rows then exercised and traversed the final length to finish a round.  5 rounds in all, giving it all you got.

Mosey to the start and finish with 3 minutes of Mary.  Started with Dolph and went around the circle.  First time we heard Wheezy do a 4 count exercise and calls for his VQ began.  Also the first time we heard Oh Wow attempt a 4 count exercise and chatter and hilarity ensued.

One Big Loop

5 HiM including 1 FNG fought the fartsack, and a what looked like a heavy coating of dew (some would argue it was rain), to put in some work at the Storm.  The great thing about the Storm is there are endless areas to exercise.  Today was one big loop with running and pain stations and we didn’t even cover the entire AO.  With that said here’s what went down at the Storm this morning.
