P. E. Teacher

A few late arrivals so the group did squats until everyone showed up.  Somebody that we suspected was Tesla came in on two wheels and hit the big pothole that we always stumble through when we run.  Turned out to be someone else.

Mosey to the “recess area” where the basketball goals are for the warm up.  SSH, Merkins, LBC’s, Imperial Walkers

Some mumblechatter about this being P.E.

Next, line up on one side and high knees down and butt kickers back.

Kareoke right, kareoke left.  Some claim this is the same thing if you turn around in the middle. #showtoknow

Lungewalk down, burpee broad jump back  (some mumblechatter about not liking the P.E. Teacher)

lungewalk down, bearcrawl back

Mosey to Davis Park for some hill sprints

10 merkins at the bottom, sprint to the top of the hill, slow mosey back

15 merkins at the bottom, sprint to the top of the hill, slow mosey back

20 merkins at the bottom, sprint to the top of the hill, slow mosey back

5 burpees at the bottom, NUR to the top of the hill

10 big boi’s at the bottom, NUR up the hill

10 big boi’s at the top, 20  American Hammers, mosey down

10 big boi’s, 20 Hammers, 30 LBC’s mosey up

10 big boi’s, 20 Hammers, 30 LBC’s, 40 Flutters

Several times cars came through and interrupted our street takeover.  Good job by the PAX calling it out so we could get out of the road.  Purple Haze (safety Q) would have been proud!

Partner up for a quick DORA..

50 burpees, 100 merkins, 150 squats

Although at least one team of bat flippers finished this, it was time to mosey back to start so the Q called End-ex.

Mosey back for the Pledge and that was time.

Can’t Think of a Title

Quite a large crowd in the gloom of morn on this Friday.  Between New Year’s and the challenge, numbers have been large. Let’s keep it up.

0530 hit, YHC gave a disclaimer, but most were too busy yammering to hear it, so instead of doing warmup, lets mosey.  Just around the the parking lot and up to the playground.

Still lots of conversations going on, but some participated.

Mosey to the church.

Sit on the wall for a bit
15 Donkey Kicks
Sit for a bit
15 Dirty Hookups
Sit
Marching and Presses

Partner Up – Dora

100 Merkins
200 Squats
300 Flutters

Back to wall, with intention to repeat, but after the DKs, a truck just sat in the street, apparently watching us.  Upon advice from Nantans present, we vacated and moved to the tennis courts.

Activities here included, running the lines, burpee broad jumps, bear crawls, lunges and something I can’t remember.

Back to the street.  20 Squats at every pole on the way back to the flag.  Errr make that 10 (cuz of time)

Had time once all were back from a couple of burpees to end the round.

Announcements were made.’
Prayers were noted.

Breaker took us out and we squeezed in the Pledge of Allegiance.

Although I hadn’t planned on such a large crowd, It was awesome.  I hope it continues.

It was an honor to lead.

Its Dry, Impromptu Q

YHC had planned for Ian to be bringing rain, even though Radar said no rain.

So, instead going with the plan, YHC decided to make it up as we went.

There was warmup, moseying, route 91, route 66, four corners, wall sitting and Dora.

As I remember, it was kinda like a normal Tequila Sunrise, except there was a group out putting miles in that joined us at the end.

Prayers were raised.

Announcements.

BB is here, but lacking

Next time, maybe I can be timely and really put what was done.

Watts Up powering down.

Sister Act Made It To Belmont

It’s been a while since YHC posted at Tequila Sunrise so I grabbed a Q from Radar and made my way back to by far the worst lit AO in Gashouse. With all the money in Belmont it seems they would put up at least a few lights at the school. PAX rolled in all the way up to 0530 and we ended up with a total of 12. After a warmup followed by a lap around the block we moved on to the Thang.

Sheldon Cooper (with modifications)

10 Burpees, 10 Perfect Form Merkins (thanks to Freight for bringing this exercise to my attention, a hand release merkin with shoulder tap at the top), 10 butt touch Squats (butt has to hit the curb), 10 Big Boys (must touch your shins at the top). Follow it up with a lap around the bus drive then rinse and repeat with 9 reps, 8, 7….all the way to 1.

After another lap around the block we finished up with 5 minutes of Mary. Freddie Mercury’s, Flutters, Nolan Ryan’s, More Burpees and some other stuff until time.

NMM/COT

The Cooper is a routine that I despise. It seems like someone (SA) always Q’s it on the hottest, most humid days of the year when the workout is packed with bat flippers and it’s a struggle to keep up with the pack. The reason I called it this morning was to make the point that sometimes we have to do things we don’t like in order to get better. Change is difficult and a lot of times we can’t do it on our own. We need others around us to push us and hold us accountable in all aspects of our lives.

I’m Broke

Tequila Sunrise – August 5, 2022

Only five PAX braved my workout this morning. However, we did have a Buckeye and Quiche sighting prior to the workout. Great seeing those two get some miles in.

Seeing no FNG’s I gave a brief disclaimer and we went ahead and said the Pledge of Allegiance.

We took a lap in the parking lot and circled up for the warm up.

Windmill x 10 IC
Seal Jacks x 20 IC
MNC x 10 IC
Squat x 10 IC
Merkin x 10

There are six lights on Park Street.

First Light = 5 squats
Second Light = 5 squats, 5 merkins

Sixth Light = 5 squats, 5 merkins, 5 big boy sit ups, 5 lunges (10 total), 5 plank jacks, 5 burpees

We then headed to the hill on Park Street. There are three light poles.

Aye,
Radar

Only a little lost

WARMUP:
SSH
Imperial Walker
Hillbilly Walker
Shoulder Taps
Slow merkins

THE THANG:
mosey around until I got lost.

Stop along the way for:
10 Merkins
9 squats
8 LBCs
7 Carolina Dry Docks
6 Jump Squats
5 American Hammers
4 Hand Release merkins
3 Jump Lunges
2 Flutters
1 Burpee

Did the full set each stop. I think we stopped around 6 times. I ran to what used to be an event center to do another round and was informed it’s now a private residence.  Better to be dissuaded by your friends than run off by someone wielding a shotgun.  We got a little over 3 miles in today.

Unintentional message of the day:
How do you respond when your leader is clearly lost?

Planned message:
You’ve done something challenging today.  Don’t shy away from other challenges as they face you.  You may need to press forward and persevere, or you may need to hold back and assess.  Both decisions require different kinds of toughness.

Thanks Radar for the call to lead outside the my home region. Was great to be in Belmont this morning.

Tequila Sunrise – July 1, 2022

It was a beautiful morning and 9 of us came to play ball this Friday,

We ran to the back side of the school to do our warm-up and did some Hillbilly Walkers, Moroccan Night Clubs, and Toy Solider Squats.

We made our way back to the baseball field for the main events

First up was a 7 of diamonds (4 base accumulator)

at home plate, we started with 7 Bonnie Blairs

Added 14 flutters at 1st base

21 CDD’s at 2nd

28 LBC’s at 3rd

Then made a 2nd trip around the bases taking one of the exercises off at each base until we were left with just the Bonnie Blairs

Then some good old fashioned competition was in order so we played some F3 Baseball.

We split into teams and each team started at a different base

When each team completed a cumulative rep count of 40 reps of each exercise they advanced to the next base via bear crawl and lunge walk

The team who completed the bases the most times during the remaining time won.

The exercises were : 40 merkins

40 Squats

40 PLank Jacks

40 burpees (we ran out of time before getting to these)

Back to COT and we were done!
