8 Ruckers and 1 Runner did work at Crossroads last Sunday. Yes this is almost a week later. Yes I completely forgot about it. It’s been that kind of week. The newest bat flipping skillet chaser, Gumby, kindly reminded me this morning that he hadn’t gotten credit for the final post of the month. Anyway here it is.

Coming off of the P200 I decided to ruck a little. Well it turns out 7 others decided the same. Mayor was already out getting after it so we hit the ground rucking. Somewhere around the college we see Mayor and realize he is the only runner posting at what is really a running AO! He had some words for us, they were mostly positive and reinforcing. The review board has decided this very act constitutes Mayor as a runner. Quiche will be proud! I’m not sure but it kind of looked like Mayor’s arms were getting smaller too.

COT:

The usual. Sorry it’s been a week.

Crossroads – P200 Training Hits the Home Stretch

17 posted for Crossroads on this wonderful Sunday. A few ruckers and a lot of runners. Props to the guys who participated in the Rooster the day before and made it out today. Pizza Man grabbed a recovery ruck while Gold Digger, to no one’s surprise, was seen burning up the streets as he normally does. Keep up the great work.

We went through announcements and, as we were wrapping those up, we were introduced to Sgt. Big Country. This a REAL hero and HIM folks! He saw the flag and came by to ask what we were about. He told us he had lost his leg while serving our country and just told us how seeing those colors just triggered something in him. He does some motivational speaking as well. Sgtbigcountry is his Instagram handle.
YHC asked him if he’d lead us in the pledge and a prayer and, I must say, that was one of THE most inspiring and emotional pledges I’ve ever been a part of. We gave him all the info so don’t be surprised if you see him around some of our AOs soon.

Anouncements: P200 upcoming, 2nd F on 3/22 at the Ole Dallas Brewery to watch some roundball, Joe Davis run, 3/9 Nomads to F3 Metro (ask Freight for details)

CSAUP Recovery

12 PAX total started at various times and did various things. Some ran, some rucked, all resisted the urge to fart sack and didn’t let a little rain stop them from getting better.

Keep Rockabilly’s Mom, Allen Tate’s M and each other in your prayers. Be on the lookout for details about a Nomad trip and Gashouse convergence coming next month.

Day 1 HIPAAPALOOZA – Allen Tate MF’r

YHC was excited to kick off HIPAAPALOOZA with the Folsom crew this AM. Earlier in the week, I had been approached by Montross to see if I would sponsor the Allen Tate Memorial Fun Run (MF’r). He stated it was to raise awareness for Kotterism, an issue that is apparently sweeping Folsom and other regions. Like the HIM I am I obliged his request and went to work. Race Bibs were made for the 12 HIM that “pre-registered”, Montross supplied the “Allen Tate MF’r” graphics & Montross’ M supplied the pins. Glad to see “The North Face” sponsored one of our runners: Sister Act. They supplied him with their new “Shimmer & Shine” line of clothing.

The Thang

Some ran, some rucked and some walked all for a great casue! A lot of PR’s were set. The clear winner of the race was our own Allen Tate. He actually won before we started, because showing up counts as a win in my heart.

Ramblings from a Rambling Man

During the 2nd F and Q-Source last week, Roadie let me take the Q next week and Montross kindly stepped aside as the next open slot, I would be out of town. I also took on the F.2 Language of the Q source.

I showed up at 0600 in time to plant the flag before the ruck crew took off. It was a good thing I was running today, because the pace was to be pushed as Roadie, Bedpan, Dr Seuss, Brock and Buckeye decided to Ruck. Two groups emerged and one group was at a 15 minute pace and the other was at 13:45. Super fast and Excellent work by those men. There were some comedic offerings by Bedpan when he looked at Roadie and asked him to “turn him on from the back.” He also mentioned that he spoke with Def about his blow up. Now, not knowing any context this is hilarious and it was funny knowing the context, however, it was in reference to his marking light on his rucksack and the pouch couch he plans on using for the P200. Def has some stories from the Tuna and Bourbon.

Sister Act and Blart waited as long as they could for Def before they struck out on their own, but those who were with him on the Bourbon, know how long he takes to change or get ready. It was declared that Sister Act may be the nicest person in F3 Gastonia and when YHC asked about different kinds of coffee to order instead of the usual black, Def kept referencing his wife’s and daughters choices to me, which made me feel hollow inside and less manly so I got the usual black coffee.

On to the Q-source. It was on Language and it meant something that it is the 2nd part of the foundation for all of the Q points. Read up on them; it is worth it. Thank you men for the input and Def for picking me up on the Bible verse today.

We give each other a hard time out there, but I wouldn’t have it any other way because the 2nd F and 3rd F is superior to all others (statement made – prove it wrong by stepping out and seeing what others have). Thank you again men…It was an honor and a pleasure. Until next time, and, as Bone Thugs-N-Harmony said, Ill see you at the Crossroads.

~Mayor
