1 hour of Omaha

We’ve had great numbers recently at the Yank but I knew today was going to take a hit, Q vs. Q at Gashouse and BOS put out a clown car opportunity to MeCa a few days ago. But we are there for whoever shows so here’s what I remember.

I was hoping for even numbers so we could play with the blocks Tiger purchased last week and left in the Bunker. 7 HIM joined me by 0700 to say the pledge of allegiance. We moseyed down to the Bucker for the warm up and block werk but the blocks weren’t there. After doing a quick scan we realized they were either stolen for nearby construction or by the city since Tesla talked us into leaving them in the open rather than hidden in the trees. Oh well move on.

Warmup: stretch, gravel pickers, toy soldiers and merkins.

My weinke was out the window due to no blocks so I improvised. We ran over to the side street next Everyday Cafe where we bear crawled two parking spaces then stopped for 10 squats, there were about 10 spaces. We stayed close for some Dora 1 2 3. 100 merkins, 200 shoulder taps and 300 LBCs.

Next we ran to Hawthorne hill for triple nickel of CDDs at the bottom and Big Boys at the top 5 times.

We ended at the track for Tesla’s favorite fourth quarter routine bear crawl slalom.

Back to The Fighting Yank statue for five minutes of Mary: burpees, ab work and a few more burpees.

Hand Release Merkins galore

We had 7 at 0530 for an EC Food ruck for Dallas Christian Ministry. Norwood joined and brought food from his pantry at home, sorry Mrs. Norwood. 5 would do the bootcamp, 2 rucked some more and Flintstone left in his footmoblie.

Rain started as we finished the ruck so we took cover under the awnings at Old Stone. Still raining at 0700 so we said the Pledge of Allegiance from our cover. Mosey to my truck to pick up a deck of cards, then to the pavilion at the park.

Disclaimer, man it’s dark be careful and don’t get hurt.

WU: SSH x20 IC, leaf pickers x10 IC, toy soldiers x15 IC, LBC x15 IC, 5 burpees OYO

Mosey to the track for one set of 11’s-HR merkins, big boys.

Rain had stopped but since I had the cards in my pocket we took the long way to the shelter with plenty of tables for more fun. Draw a card and add 10 to the number except aces, those had fun of their own.

❤️-SSH. Ace-2 laps around track
♠️-HR merkins. Ace-1 minute plank
♦️-LBC’s. Ace-100 flutter kicks
♣️-Dips. Ace-100 step ups

Impossible to remember the order of cards pulled but two aces were on the top, 2 laps around the track and 100 flutters were a great start. Reshuffle the deck due to complaints and kept going. Plenty of hand release merkins and dips, a few SSHs but hardly any LBCs. Time was called before we could finish the deck. YHC was seeing stars on the way to the flag but it was good to get out there.

Flying by the seat of my pants

Watching the weather all week I had a few ideas in my heads, but nothing on paper. Rain was gone by morning but we still had a light crowd. I decided to borrow a portion of a Def Leopard Q from Midoriyama, here’s how it went.

Corner 4 – 40 Flutter Kicks (count right side as one), 30 Imperial Walkers, 20 hammers, 10 PF Merkins
Corner 3 – 30 Imperial Walkers (count ride side as one), 20 hammers, 10 PF Merkins
Corner 2 – 20 American Hammers (count right side as one), repeat 10 PF merkins
Corner 1 – 10 PF Merkins.

Mosey across the street to old middle school for a triple nickel. Squats on one end and calf raises on the other.

Mosey back to shelter for another round of ab werk.

Mosey to track for another triple nickel as time was running low. 5 CDD’s on one end then run half way around track then do 5 jump squats, called by Norwood finish the lap and go again. We got in 4 before headed to the flag.

Time! Great work and fellowship by all.

Pledge of Allegiance.

Missed the rain by this much

It looked like it was going to be a rainy mess this morning but when YHC got to Members Only it was clear but humid. I saw a few cars of ruckers and two runners getting some EC. 0630 came so I headed out on another solo run. We all came back in one piece and finished COT just as the rain started.

Ring of fire

Tiger messaged me earlier in the week that he needed to switch Q’s with me and I obliged. Woke up to a nice cool morning and drove to the Yank with a white board in tow. Pulled in to see some getting EC and some high rollers of F3 Gastonia. I was a little nervous but I’d turn that in energy.

Mosey down to the Bunker as a train was leaving, whew! I said in my head no burpees today. Nothing really planned for a warmup but we did Gravel pickers, toy soldiers, SSHs 11x IC. I think there were 11 merkins too, OYO.

We split from the Bunker crew and head to the track. I’m going to hate the day Belmont gets rid of that.

Arrive at the track to see my white board, borrowed from my M. Mayor had a Q at the Goat a few weeks ago and I stole his idea. I switched up the exercises so it wasn’t a complete copy of his. Idea was to perform 10 of each exercise then take a lap, 9x lap, 8x lap all the way to 1 of each exercise and a lap.

Exercises were LBCs, merkins, squats, plank jacks, Freddy mercury’s, shoulder taps, SSHs, big boy sit ups, lunges and CDDs.

Everyone finished and some starting counting back up the ladder. The up and down was bad with the low rep numbers, sorry to everyone’s backs.

Plenty of time left so fellowship mosey to the shelter. Dips and derkins using the tables 20/10, 15/15, 10/20. Mountain climbers and step ups next, same reps. Finish and mosey to The Yank for some Mary. I think we did flutter kicks, American hammers, and crunchy frogs. Pizza man counted 22 push-ups for the vets and we were done.

Great crowd this morning with a few different faces. Thanks men.

Pledge of allegiance.
