At Diablo we rucked to Martha Rivers. We went to what I call the Islands of Misadventure (parking lot islands). There are 11. We did 5 merkins at each, then lunges, squats, and step ups.
A good sweat was achieved.

Today at Diablo we rucked as usual, but we also lugged 3 kettle bells up Gaston’s hill. At each mailbox you did two overhead presses. At each light post, two curls.
At the top of the hill we did 50 LBCs and planked for 5-15 counts, then 5-10 counts.
On the way back, we had one group do merkins while the other went ahead with kettle bells, then we did a kettle bell relay and reversed it.
A few complaints about my 30lb kettle but otherwise, a good workout.
We kept it simple today at Diablo Sammich.
Many times I have tried to find the end of the development behind Pelican’s. Many times I have failed and when we reached a cul de sac, we did merkins to make up for it.
Wattsup and HIPAA once took me there and that distance plus a grueling pace made for a great workout
Last night, I swallowed my pride and looked it up online. To get to the very very very very end, you just follow Plantation Rd/St all the way to the end.
That’s exactly what we did. And it worked. I was tired all day too!
Today at Diablo we kept it pretty simple. We did a long ruck through the neighborhood.
At the end, we worked on our plank challenge, first having each person count to 20 while we held it. Took a break, then 15 count. Then 10 count. A few groans and complaints, but we survived.
Announcements: Tube is celebrating 18ys with his M. Convergence is coming up April 2. Flintstone is accepting shirt designs. Castle Rock has submitted a Diablo Sammich design. (It’s my new profile pic on Slack.)
Prayers for all those suffering the physical and mental effects of COVID.
We welcomed back Hermie!
I agreed to Q Pain Lab, and created what I thought was an awesome chest-heavy workout.
Then came the rain and the cold. I didn’t think anyone would show up, but I knew my prepared workout wouldn’t work. I wasn’t going to ask everyone to lay in puddles.
Instead we carried our coupons into the trail and found several covered areas. At each we did different workouts. At the final one, we did most of that original awesome chest workout.
The gentlemen of Diablo started with an obscene number of calf raises.
Afterwards rucked into the neighborhood and up Gaston’s Hill.
At the top we planked (almost to failure), each man gave a 20 count.
At Diablo Sammich we did a Rocky 4 themed workout. We listened to The Rocky Story soundtrack while we worked out. Lots of shadow boxing while rucking.
My favorite parts were doing the pledge during James Brown’s Living in America, and step ups to Gonna Fly Now (the long version).
I don’t know if we forgot our Russia concerns, but we got a good workout.
Today at Pain Lab we had the Pyramid of Pain:
300 Kettle Bells Swings – Jog between sets
200 Squats – Lunge between sets
100 Kettle Curls – calf raises between sets
50 Chest Presses – bear crawl between sets
25 Side Straddle Hops
5 Burpees
1 min Plank from your elbows
At Diablo, a drunk woman was in the parking lot. It was 30 degrees out. I tried to help. I let her borrow my phone, and tried to get her Mom to pick her up. Her Mom wasn’t having it. I told her I’d get her a ride after our workout.
I returned and she was passed out. I thought she was dead and realized how callous it was of me to workout while someone needed help.
Bandit stayed with me and we called 911 to help her get home. Tube wrapped up the Q.
It was the worst feeling in the world to think that I had only half-heartedly tried to help someone in need.
Leave no man or woman behind.
At Diablo, the men rucked. Forward. Backwards. Sideways. Through Martha Rivers Tightrope walked the parking spots. Step ups. Every crazy thing I could come up with.
