Today at Diablo Sammich men rucked. Men mumbled. Men sweated. (Is that grammatically correct?) Men pushed it.
Those men?
Tube
TimeFrame
CastleRock
Hermy (R)
Men listened to TimeFrame tell a nail biting thriller about a dead body under a blanket.
Prayers: Tube’s aunt battling cancer, TimeFrame’s mother losing a close family friend, and CastleRock’s aunt in a nursing home with only a few days left.
Announcements: Diablo Sammich will be closed on Thanksgiving day. Everyone agreed to do it that way. Diablo folks are welcome to attend the Pub 5K.
Month: November 2021 (Page 6 of 12)
0530 arrives with 6 joining YHC, amongst the PAX a Kotter and a near Kotter.
No FNGs, so lets get after it.
Warmup:
SSH x 15IC
Hillbillies x 10 IC
BB x 10 OYO
Merkin x 10 OYO.
Mosey to the first light pole (yes the one at the back entrance),
The Thang:
Since Dirt was the elder of the group, YHC gave him the choice of Option A or Option B
Don’t really remember what letter was chosen, but the choose equated to:
1 Squat, 1 Merkin, 1 LBC. Repeat at every other light pole and increase the count by 1.
(The other option was 5 of each exercise listed above, at every 3 pole.)
Continued in this fashion until we arrived at the Dollar General.
Meander and then Mosey through the parking lot and into the Food Lion parking lot.
1 Member of the PAX attempts to shoot the ping-pong ball into the cup. If they make it, the reps from the deck of death are halved. If they miss, the reps are doubled (grace was given for the aces, they stayed at 100)
Buy-in the a round was a burpee equal to the round number.
Buy-out was running around the number of light poles equal to the round number.
In between, a card from the DoD was drawn and followed.
We completed almost 5 rounds and no one made it in the cup.
Whoopee suggested alternate rules, so this will make another appearance.
Great to see Gastone and Dry Rub back in the gloom!
Need to make myself Q more.
Until next time…
Watts Up Powering Down.
Thought it only appropriate to start the workout with I’m back and holding out the superman until it hurt…. anyway here’s how it went.
9 pax started out … and then the legend came in hot… the Leppard ( more on that). We started out with some mountain climbers to get the heart rate up over 170 ish… then superman hold it in reverance of Cam Newton ( cough, cough) anyway. I forgot Tiger was in timeout and stayed behind and did a block workout and nap while we were doing all this other stuff…
Let’s mosey down the road across the street. Leppard and two or three others he was influencing lagged behind pretty heavy. I believe he was still working from home and hindering other pax. Finally they got across the road we went around the circle and I keep looking back NO Leppard and a few others he was hindering. So me the old guy has to let them know the office meeting is over and we will run out of time if you don’t pick up the pace. Across the road to the pier we all meet up again and form groups of 3 for some Dorie… I decided that since everyone was being influenced by the Leppard we would run up the wheel chair ramp… you know with the handicaps we were facing. Anyway 100 plank jacks one hand out ( whah) 200 something.. can’t remember alzheimers and 300 american hammers… Slaw said he was having minstrel cramps on these not sure what that was about. Ner up the hill lot of crying and business meetings on the way… did a count down Purple haze started at a 100 instead of 10… then mosey away at every light post stopped and did different painful exercises with 25 in each set such as diamond merkins, werkins, CDD, big boys, lunges, skipped, kareokee, monkey humpers, chest slappers… you get the picture it was time to walk a ways back with some other exercise I forgot the name of… old people damn!
Anyway thanks for the opportunity for the old guy to embarrass you all ! First time at the legendary Midoriyama so I got all I could done.
Prayer request:
Montross sister to give birth, Broke’s mother, people battling addiction, domestic violence up, Mayor’s M , Tiger’s M and stepsons, people going into the holiday season with family and loved ones..

YHC didn’t have any words of wisdom prepared, but being the HIM he is, Defib stepped up and provided some inspirational thoughts.
Luke 12:48 – “From everyone who has been give much, much will be demanded; and from the one who has been entrusted with much, much more will be asked.”
We are all very fortunate compared to most and should strive to give back in all that we do.

SSH’s IC
Abe Vigodas IC
Chinooks IC

Mosey to the next brick wall for a one minute wall sit and 10 thigh slappers OYO.
Mosey to the farmers market parking lot for some coupon work. Each HIM choses an exercise for the others to do while he runs to the blocks, does 12 curls, and runs back.
One more stop at the library for…
American Hammers IC
WW1’s OYO
Lt. Dan’s OYO
Hillbilly’s IC
Mosey back to the start for 3 minutes of Mary. We went around the circle with each HIM calling out an exercise, all continued the 12 rep Space Force theme, nice work!
Tried to put an Easter Egg in this one but the Space Force had different plans.
Humbled and honored to serve as Q, thank you for the opportunity to lead.
Rebar
Remember the classic movie Ferris Bueller’s Day Off when the teacher, Ben Stein, was taking roll? When it got to Ferris, obviously he wasn’t there but teach kept calling for a name, Bueller…Bueller…Bueller… That’s what happened in this edition of TRB. There was no Q named Tesla to be found! Oh well, there were three of us who actually set our alarms correctly so we hashed it out and got after it. This is what happened…
No disclaimer, all veterans.
I think we did a warmup.
YHC took the lead for the first section of the workout.
Suicide Ladder Escalator !!!
Run to the first light and back, doing 5 burpees at the start. Then go to the second light and back, then the third and then fourth, doing 5 burpees at the start each time except on the final return do 20 WWI situps. We did 3 sets of this thang.
Next up Nutria made up some Triangle Thang
Each PAX would do AMRAP of something while at another station that dude counted to a number. The idea was to do the exercise until the other guy got to your station. That was the idea…
1st round – 10 Step Ups each leg, AMRAP American Hammers, AMRAP Hand Release merkins (stupid merkins)
2nd round – 10 Decline merkins, AMRAP Lunges, AMRAP Flutterkicks
3rd round – 20 Mountain Climbers each leg, AMRAP Squats, AMRAP Heels to Heaven
Finally, CPAP decided to do a 4 Corner Escalator on the field. It probably should be called the Field of Tesla’s dreams since he didn’t get his cussin’ rear out of the fartsack this morning!
Corner 1 – 10 CDDs
Corner 2 – 10 CDDs and 20 Bonnie Blairs each leg
Corner 3 – 10 CDDs, 20 Bonnie Blairs each leg and 30 LBCs
Corner 4 – 10 CDDs, 20 Bonnie Blairs each leg, 30 LBCs and 40 Mountain Climbers each leg
We headed back to the start due to time after that.
Moleskin: You have to be ready when unexpected circumstances come your way in life. You may not like having to deal with stuff but being prepared will help make the most out of what often could be a really crappy situation. Even though Tesla screwed his Q up royally, it gave the 3 HIM in attendance the chance to modify and lead like we’re all called to do from time to time. The moral of the story is: stand guard, be ready and don’t ever let Tesla forget his mistake! 🙂
Announcements: Christmas Party (M’s welcome and encouraged to attend), Speed for Need at Christmastown 5k
Prayers – Buckshot & M, Queso’s knee recovery and team health, good sportsmanship
Sargento, Nutria and CPAP out!
Brown Streak joined us at The Storm on 11-9-21. Welcome back Kotter! Hope to see you again soon.

Pledge – PP was out of town on business. Thanks for the flag BOS.
Seal Jacks IC
Hilly Billy Walkers IC
Eskimo Merkins up to 5
Mosey out the lower entrance and do 50 squats at each light pole. I think there were 5 light poles for a total of 250.
Route 132 up the hill stoping at each light pole to do Merkins and Flutter Kicks.
The first PAX up the hill went over to the traffic circle so we Bear Crawled around the traffic circle.
Mosey to the traffic circle at the school for Ring Of Fire. Five rounds of Merkins and five rounds of LBC’s.
Partner up for Declining Suicides. Pax #1 runs to the school box office and back to meet PAX #2 who is Lung Walking to the box office.
Mosey to the flag for Mary.
Time.
Thanks for participating men!
A cool icy chill rolled through Folsom this morning. There were no bugs, no birds, and (fortunately) no skunks….only 11 sweaty men who showed up to show out and put in some work. I wasn’t really watching the clock as I enjoyed some fellowship with my friends but Ball Joint, being the Site Q and all, reminded us that it was indeed 5:30 am and time to get to it so here we go.
Warmup:
Side Straddle Hops IC
Toy Soldiers IC
Don Qs IC
some EC stretching while we waited for Spackle
Let’s get it. Mosey to the flag at the entrance. A few of us made it there faster than others but that’s all good…Ball Joint and Wichita picked up the 6 and I led the other PAX in flutter kicks
Pledge. Short mosey back the gazebo area.
We’re going to run laps around the triangle road that is surrounding the gazebo. 10 Big Boys at the first corner, 20 Merkins in the second, 30 squats in the third. Rinse and repeat for 5 laps. Wichita and Spackle got in 6 because they are bat flippers!
Short mosey to the hill to the left of the spot where the road splits.
We borrowed from Rudolph’s farewell Q Saturday here – Jacobs Ladder – Run the hill 7 times. 1 burpee at the top after your first climb, 2 burpees at the top after your second climb, 3 burpees…you get where this is headed, finish with 7 burpees. Looks better on paper but the guys pushed through! Spackle gave us a 10 count to catch our breath.
Time is running short so let’s use this hill again – 7 more climbs but we’re bear crawling this time – 7 LBCs at the top each time.
2 minutes left on the clock so we mosey back to the parking lot. Time!
COT – Announcements: potential convergence to remember Chicken Little on 11/20 (see Slack for more updates and details), Christmas Party 12/11 (sign up, preblast should be sent soon), Christmastown 5k (Ball Joint and Bed Pan committed to joining me to push a chair. We want as many as we can get). Prayer Requests: Mayor’s M, Rockabilly’s family, Freight’s family, Chicken Little and family, Big Pappy & SA’s families, Haze’s friend on a heart transplant list, and Montross’s sister. I took us out in prayer.
It’s almost always a struggle to get up early in the morning (for me anyway) but I am always glad I did. Thanks for motivating me and I appreciate all of the guys that came out and posted with me this morning.
-Montross
12 men posted for a Friday Beatdown at Tequila Sunrise. Here’s what I remember:
The Thang
- 10 x SSH (IC)
- 10 x Toy Soldiers (IC)
- 10 x Cotton Pickers (IC)
- 10 x Mike Tysons (IC)
Bubba Sparxxx stayed at the school and did Bubba Sparxxx things., the rest moseyed into Eagle Park. YHC decided on 3 stations, and as we came to them, we’d stop and do 40 seconds of a called exercise. Stations were:
- Station 1: Merkins
- Station 2: Superman Pullups
- Station 3: Freddie Mercuries
So it went like this:
- Mosey to Station 1
- 40 seconds of Merkins
- Mosey to Station 2
- 40 seconds of Superman Pullups
- Mosey to Station 3
- 40 seconds of Freddie Mercuries
- Mosey to Station 1
- 40 seconds of Merkins
- Mosey to Serendipity
Here we partnered up, and 1 partner would run up the hill and around the loop while the other stayed to do the exercises. Switch and repeato until both partners did exercises twice and ran twice. The first round was:
- Partner 1 – Run
- Partner 2 – Monkey Humpers
Back to the stations
- Mosey to Station 2
- 40 seconds of Superman Pullups
- Mosey to Station 3
- 40 seconds of Freddie Mercuries
- Mosey to Station 1
- 40 seconds of Merkins
- Mosey to Serendipity
Round 2:
- Partner 1 – Run
- Partner 2 – Flutter Kicks
Back to the stations
- Mosey to Station 2
- 40 seconds of Superman Pullups
- Mosey to Station 3
- 40 seconds of Freddie Mercuries
It’s crazy how time was spent in that that was about all we had time for. We moved Station 3 a little up the road the last round, because we were increasingly bugging the local canine community. Lots of other plans on the Weinke, but we’ll save them for another day.
As we did Superman Pullups at the last station, Dirt asked if it was necessary for Superman to stretch out his arms to fly. Tesla answered “Depends on what he’s doing with Lois Lane”. Yep.
Very little time left, so we ran back up Assembly to the flag and got in a little more work with
- 5 x Chuck Norris Merkins (IC)
- 10 x Hello Dollies (IC)
- 15 x Crab Marches (IC)
- 5 x Burpees (OYO – Train)
And that was all she wrote.
