Shake n Bake!

After missing my Q a couple of weeks ago @ The Goat, YHC was a little worried of over sleeping and missing another Q. Set the alarm and checked it twice, all is good.

Warm-up

  • SSH x 30 I/C
  • Imperial Walkers x 20 I/C
  • Don Qs x 10 I/C
  • Merkins x 15 I/C
  • Stretches
  • Burpees x 5

The Thang;

Mosey to back of school for a speed and agility workout, but first we need to get loosened up some, Wojo style.

Start at back of school parking lot, Skip to other end by the playground and back. Repeat but doing butt kicks and then another trip doing high knees.

Next all PAX takes a parking spot, stand facing out, then shuffle to front of parking spacing and lunge jump back to the front, rinse and repeat 5X

Next exercise, each PAX lines up on painted line and do Rocky Balboas down and back, 5X,

Then we do the Rockette, Squat, Jump – Kick right leg up with left hand extended, squat, kick left leg touching right hand squat and finish with a jump. Rinse and Repeat 5X

Now we divide up into two groups so we are not running each other over…Group 1 lines up, does a side shuffle for about 10 feet and then sprints toward about 75 yards. Group 2 does the same starts when Group 1 starts sprinting. All Mosey back to repeat for a total of 5X…

That is round 1, the goal was to get in 5 rounds but YHC didn’t realize how much time the sprints would consume, so we did 2 1/2 rounds. Maybe next time, we will only do 2 sprints per round.

We moseyed back to front of school to finish workout with some stretching.

Breakfast at the Bobby!

As 2020 rolls on with it’s challenges and opportunities (there’s a difference?) some things just stay constant. One of them is the lit field at The Ricky Bobby and the Centurion that lights our way when we get there to assemble for a beatdown buttermilk style courtesy Tesla. Today’s humid adventure in the gloom went like this:

COP:

SSH X 20

IW X 20

Grapevine stretches

Mtn. Climbers X 20

LBC X 20

Mosey to the end of the football field and partner up for BLIMPS. partner 1 runs the field and back. Partner 2 does the called move. Flapjack, rinse and repeat as follows:

Burpees

Lunges

Imperial Walkers

Merkins

Plank Jacks

Squats

After this, we mosey over to the sidelines and the benches for more work:

Dips

Step ups

Dirkins

10X, 15X, 20x apiece.

After 10X – Sprint to the other side and jog back.

After 15X – Karoake to the other side, jog back

After 20X – Bear crawl half way,  Burpee broad jump halfway.  Jog back.

Meet in the center of the field for some Four Corner work.  Game works like this. Start with 5 burpees, go to the called corner and do the reps. Mosey back, 5 burpees, next corner

1st corner – HR merkins

2nd corner – Big boy sit ups X 10

3rd corner – CDDs X 10

4th corner – Jump squats X 10

Mosey back to the flag and a little Pax called Mary. Game here is pax calls move and does 10 merkins. Pax does move until merkins are complete. Tesla and three others get in on the fun until time os called and we say a pledge.

NMM:

Humid morning today but everybody put in good work! Spam and Nutria are getting better fast. Great to see. Love the AO, a poor man’s version of The Charge over in Metro. Fun place to work out. Pleasure and honor ot lead. look forward ot doing so again soon.

TRB – The Wednesday workout

14 HIMs showed this gloom to push their own rock and to help encourage the PAX.

It’s important to remember the fundamentals of what we do on a daily basis. Disclaimers, picking up the 6, Pledge of Allegiance and COT.

One of the less practiced things that we do is to count off how many PAX are in attendance each workout. Most of the time we stick together pretty close but you never know when someone may get sidetracked or worse. It only takes a few seconds but it can make a big difference to know where everybody is. Just saying…

Warm Up

Don Quixote, Grass Cutters, Goofballs

Mosey to the field at the track for some work in the grass.

The Thang-

Field of Dreams – Count off so there are 4 groups for the 4 stations. Everyone will do AMRAP at their station until the prior group arrives. Everything starts with the group that does 15 burpees. Once they’re done with those they go to the next, that group goes to the next and so on.

Round 1

Station 1 – 15 Burpees

Station 2 – Squats

Station 3 – Merkins (yes from the president of the MHC himself)

Station 4 – LBCs

Round 2

1 – 15 Burpees

2 – Lunges

3 – CDDs

4 – Big Boy situps

It’s somewhere in here that Buckeye said a quiet goodbye and wandered off into the dark (reference 1 for the need for a countoff)

Round 3

1 – 15 Burpees

2 – High Knees

3 – Werkins

4 – American Hammers

Mosey around to the back parking lot for part 2 of the Thang. This was about the time Top Hat said an unexpected adieu. (Reference 2 of the need for a count off)

Four Corner Escalator

Corner 1 – 10 Bobby Hurleys

Corner 2 – 10 Bobby Hurleys & 20 Pickle Pounders

Corner 3 – 10 Bobby Hurleys, 20 Pickle Pounders & 30 Dying Cockroaches

Corner 4 – 10 Bobby Hurleys, 20 Pickle Pounders, 30 Dying Cockroaches & 40 Goofballs!!!

Instead of going back down the escalator like the weinke said we moseyed back to the start due to time constraints.

It think we did a little Mary but it wasn’t long and we’re done. Thanks for the opportunity to lead again today men. Lets look ahead to the 19th when Nutria will bring his VQ!

Phase 1 expedition

My mission for launching the worlds greatest AO was to create the most convenient opportunity for the hundreds of sad clowns who live in my neighborhood to attend. Since we launched at the beginning of the year I believe only Wet Nutz has taken the PAX off of NHE property. Today we embarked on a tour of Phase 1 of the Cramer Woods metroplex. It went like this…

Warm Up:

Goof Balls x10 IC

Don Quixote x10 IC

Pledge of Allegiance

Mosey into the hood.

The Thang:

Our objective was to stop at each cul-de-sac intersection and do some work. Partner up and while #1 runs to the end of the clu-de-sac, #2 does the exercise. Some of them were longer than others. The order was:

  • Merkins
  • WW1 situps
  • Squats
  • Burpees (yes, Sargento called burpees!)

Running out of time so we had to get back to the school. Dirt said we ran about 2.7 miles. AYE!

Prayer requests: First responders, some normality, Tiger, my Uncle Bill in hospital for back surgery

Thanks for hanging with me today men. It was awesome!!!

Ricky Bobby at The Ricky Bobby

Having not been down to The Ricky Bobby in a while, I picked up an open Q. I mentioned to Freight I had the Q and he called it “our AO” and I remembered we joked when Sargento named it that he named it after us. I suggested a Co Q since Freight is off this week and he doesn’t get to Q the weekday morning AO’s very often and he, of course, agreed. 21 Pax joined in the large circle. Fife (the new guy from Monday) was back again. It was great to see Hipaa back after an injury. Several Pax ran from their homes and we have an FNG named Joshua Crowder. Disclaimer was given. We had a collection of 9 Respects this morning which I love to see (We won’t count Roscoe yet but he can see “Respect” from where he is, love ya Roscoe). Let’s go.
Warmup
SSH x 10 IC, Cotton Pickers x 10 IC, Moroccan Night Clubs x 10 IC (Shut up SA), 5 Burpees OYO.
The Thang
Dirty Mac Deuce
12 Reps, Arms, Legs, Core

Set #4 CDD’s, Calf Raises, Dying Cockroaches x 12 IC, run a lap.
Set #5 Diamond Merkins, Lunges, LBFC’s x 12 IC, run a lap.
My time is up so I turn it over to Ricky AKA Freight.

We mosey to the back parking lot with half of us lining up on the first parking space line and the rest about halfway across the parking lot.
Broad Jump 2 spaces, 10 Merkins, 10 Jump Lunges, 10 WWI’s, then Broad Jump 2 more spaces, repeat exercises, broad jump 2 more spaces repeat exercises. Bear Crawl back to where you started. We did 3 sets.
Everybody find your own parking space line for Captain America. 1:4 ration of Burpee to Lateral Bunny Hops across the line all the way up to 10:40. Ouch! Mosey back to the front.

WORD
We all post to get in better shape but that’s not all. The longer I post, the more I like to see the Pax. I love Midoriyama and Folsom but I also love every other AO that I have posted because I get to see guys that I have known for a while now and meet new ones. So on that morning you don’t want to get up, think about the guys you get to see and that may need to see you and post for them. We all need each other. Thanks to all who came out. Thanks to Freight and thanks
to Site Q Sargento for naming the AO after us!

We named the new guy Fiestada after the lovely, school cafeteria pizza since he said he liked pizza and he is still in high school. Welcome!

Announcements: PT Test July 18th at Gashouse. Annihilation will be at the Yank on July 25th with Pizza Man on the Q for those wanting to try a faster pace bootcamp workout.

COT: Prayer Requests for Sister Act’s daughter and his family, Breaker’s step dad. Sargento took us out!

Next Man Up!

So when YHC showed up at the AO for a humid beat down it was pretty apparent at 5:28 we did not have a Q! So as Vanilla Ice pulled in we got to work with YHC taking over sans any real prep other than experience. Went like this:

COP:

Stretches, arm and Grapevine.

SSH X 20

IW X20

Mtn. Climbers X 20

Cherry pickers X 20

Mosey over to the field for some Jack Kevorkians as follows:.

1 set HR Merkins, 5X, 5X

2nd set: Big boy situps, 5, 10

3rd set: CCDs: 5, 10

4th set: Jump squats 5, 10

What we’re doing here is partner one runs halfway and do the exercise as above and then all the way and do that number, while partner 2 does them all the time of partner one’s run&work. Then we flapjack partners.

4 corners as follows:

Corner 1: 10 SSH

Run the field to corner 2

Corner 2: 10 SSH, 10 merkins

Lt. Dan to Corner 3

Corner 3:  10 SSH, 10 Merkins, 10 squats

Lt. Dan to corner 4

Corner 4: 10 SSH, 10 Merkins, 10 squats, 10 Diamond Merkins

Head to the sidelines for 11s, Dips on the benches, LBCs on the opposite side of the field.

Done, – pledge and COT.

NMM:

Humid morning and a failed alarm clock transpired to make for an interesting morning. Glad to step up and it turned out to be a buttermilk morning for sure! Pax worked hard. proud of all the efforts.

Couple of things for the pax. 1st, Vanilla Ice and Nutria are job hunting. VI as a teacher in the school system here in Gaston County ,Nutria in the chemical sales business. Any help would be appreciated including being a reference and if you know someone in the biz, let’em know and advocate! That ‘s a lot of why we are here men.

Looking forward to Saturday at the Yank. Everything is set with Sam and we may have visitors from Metro and Lake Wylie. Getting back to first principles is pretty necessary right now.

Great to have the opportunity to lead today. You show up for these things. So when in doubt, get up and post!

Tesla

We didn’t have Buttermilk, but we had Slaw

Either the PAX of F3 Gastonia are really pushing the rock, or YHC has the reputation of weak Q’s because once again the PAX were out in full force doing EC work. 15 PAX total at 0530 but no Tesla. The disappointment was evident on Slaw’s face and it quickly became apparent that he would gain nothing by removing his shirt during this workout as the PAX in attendance would offer nothing more than ridicule. Disclaimer, pledge and 1 SSH to say we did a warmup before we kicked it off.

Mosey a lap around the track and back to where we started for the main event….The Cooper!

10 to 1 format with a lap around the front entrances of the school between rounds.

Start with 10 Burpee’s, 10 Squats, 10 Merkins then a lap. Repeat with 9, 8,….all the way to 1.

Head around to the back lot for some 11’s with Imperial Walker Squats and Big Boys. It seems that Sister Act needs some help with his form on the Big Boys as it was horrific. He mentioned something about “Cherry Butt”, but I’m not sure how that applies. YHC tried to get the Mumble Chatter going but the end result was Sargento playing Kid’s Bop music on his phone. This AO needs Freight or Whoopee to pay them a visit and stir things up.

Still time for some Ab Work

20 IC of each – American Hammers, Flutter’s and Oblique Crunches

10 Burpee’s then back to the start and finish up with 10 more Burpee’s

NMM/COT

Proverbs 4:26 – “Ponder the path of thy feet, and let all thy ways be established.”

In order to walk the Christian walk we must not make hasty decisions, we should use discernment to determine the Lord’s will and then follow it.

It’s been awesome to get around to a couple of AO’s that I don’t regularly attend over the past few days. The PAX of Gashouse are really pushing the rock and there are a lot of new guys that have jumped in and are attending regularly. Keep EH’ing, reach out to the Kotter’s and try to get around to different AO’s when you can. Everyone has their favorites, but they’re all top notch.
