Thursday at The Pub

Welcome to The Pub. We run.

No disclaimer (forgot); No Pledge (forgot); not the Epic start I had planned.

At the last second, YHC decided on a little road run (no sidewalk) and tackle the hill on Gaston Day School Road (toward the roundabout) first to get it out of the way. We ran. Some faster than others. Good mumble chatter (is that one word?). Gaston Day School Road to roundabout – Right on Kendrick – Brief detour through Clubview Estates – Back to Kendrick Rd. – Right on Robinwood (Changes to Hoffman Rd) – Detour through Colony Woods neighborhood – Back to Hoffman for final section back to The Pub.

We finished. No one got hurt (no blood or falling down).

~ 5 miles. P200 is about 4 weeks out. Keep up the miles.

Announcements: March 4th – 9:00 am – Work day at the Rotary Community Garden – 2.0’s welcome; Some talk about an upcoming Ultimate Frisbee event??; Convergence on March 18th.

Several Prayer requests.

COT complete.

Thanks for the opportunity to lead.

Until the next one. AYE!

Da Pub

Image result for exhausted runner

5 men braved the 56 degree morning with a slight breeze. It felt great outside and I with everyday could be that exact temperature in the morning.

The Thang: We ran 5 miles.

Moleskin: 4 of us showed up for a run and Tube showed up for a Bootcamp, oops. That’s ok Tube I have showed up for things I was not expecting before and they usually give you that great pain which helps you grow maybe. First 4 miles were fellowship pace and the last mile and a half we ran at an even 8 pace to finish strong. Billy Madison and Tube ran an alternate route of maybe around 3 but made it happen.

Thanks for the honor again of being the Q.

Gastone Out!

Thought we Drank at The Pub

8 strong men including a visitor from Greenville/Spartanburg area showed for a mosey this morning at The Pub.

We ran. Gaston Day School Rd to Kendrick Rd to Clubview Estates Neighborhood back to Kendrick Rd to Robinwood Rd. to Hoffman Rd with a detour through Colony Woods neighborhood back to Hoffman Rd and final section back to The Pub.

Approximately 5 miles or so.

Faster pace than I planned.

Announcements. Prayer requests. Name-o-rama.

As always, it was my pleasure to lead the group especially with a visiting runner from the Upstate who pushed me today. Hope to see you again Kilowatt. Lots of good mumblechatter during the run – I normally cannot verbalize anything while running but was able to squeeze out a few audible sentences this morning.

Thanks for the work men.

Until the next one. Aye!

Inaugural back blast from The Pub

No splashy merlot served here! Just a solid 4 mile run. Few in number, great in heart, we met in the  parking lot of Hoffman Village (Publix and Hickory Tavern).

We did as much warmup as Whoopie could stand: SSH, mtn climbers, imp w, and one other I can’t remember. Ran up Hoffman, R on N Hope, L on Titman, R into Bethesda Oaks, 2 R turns to take us back to N Hope, R on N Hope, L on Hudson, L on Hoffman, & back to the p lot.

There were two suggested names for the new AO: “The Pub” & “The Hoff.” The Pub got the most votes, so the Pub it is.

FYI–Here’s the original pre-blast for the new workout: http://f3nation.com/2016/12/20/pre-blast-new-f3gastonia-running-workout/

Hope to see others there next week. 🏃🏃🏃🏃🏃
