Spooky

Today at the Tequila Sunrise, 9 HIMs knew the rock needed pushing and that’s what we did. Three of us did some EC and unfortunately I thought there was more time left for stretching when it was time to start.

Disclaimer: I am not a professional…

2/5/21-Tequila Sunrise-I’m not Dirt, I’m MUD

Warm Up

Seal Jacks IC x 25

Imperial Walkers IC x 20

Ski Jack IC x 15

Mosey to the corner of Park Drive and Ferrell Ave, while getting 50 Squats, 22 Merkins (at The American Legion Post) and 50 Flutter Kicks along the way.

Welcome to the Half Pipe.   Do 5 Jump Squats at one end, 5 Burpees in the dip (both ways) and 5 Diamond Merkins at the other end.  Rinse and repeat x3.  The last round we increased the count to 10 on the Squats and Diamond Merkins.

Mosey back to the tennis courts while getting in 50 flutter Kicks along the way.  Here is where I earned the name MUD.   As you know, it rained overnight and we even had some light rain while at the half pipe.  There was plenty of standing water on the tennis courts for us to soak up while doing Suicide LBC’s and Hello Dolly’s.  We did a total of 80 Hello Dolly’s and 160 LBC’s while running back and forth between the tennis courts.  There was plenty of mumble chatter, as we all got soaked and cold.  Everyone was glad that time was running out as I wanted to get in some hand release Merkins for the last round but I felt that we didn’t have ample time to complete the round.  Maybe we’ll get them in the next time gentlemen.  We did 50 more Squats while we headed back to the awning by the school to finish out with reverse grip (fingers down) inclined Merkins x 20, Dips x 20 and LBC’s for the final 30 seconds.

It was great to lead these fine men on a cold and wet morning in Belmont.

Welcome to Tequila Sunrise!

On this clear, cold Friday morning of February 29, 2021, seventeen HIMs cheered to the freshly minted Tequila Sunrise. Before the festivities could begin, however, some work had to be done.

Pledge

Warm up: Mosey to field for some side straddle burpees (5 ssh i/c followed by 2 burpees) x5, Abe Vigodas/Don Qs i/c, cotton pickers i/c, toy soldiers i/c

After a short mosey around the track then to Park Drive, YHC called for 4 corner escalators. Corner 1 x10 LBCs; Corner 2 x20 LBCs, x10 squats with air press; Corner 3 x30 LBCs, x20 squat/air press, x10 merkins; Corner 4 x40 LBCs, x30 squat/air, x20 merkins, x10 Bonnie Blairs, or jump lunges as YHC did, or whatever it was that Tesla performed.

Pax was having a great time, but were quite surprised at the quickness of the next mosey, maybe 10 yards, to the VFW for 22 merkins for the Vets. Thank you for your service.

Mosey back to Belmont Central for some 20s on the benches – that would be 20 dirkins, 20 dips, and 20 step ups followed by a mosey to the far side of the ball court and back. Rinse and repeat.

Time was getting close, and YHC likes his rugby sprints, so off to the far side of the soccer field we moseyed. One pax called the exercise, OYO, and yelled “go” when it was time to sprint to the far side, sprint back, and slow mosey to the far side. Only rule this time was all exercises had to be started on the ground. Pax soon learned that Tiger is undefeated in sanctioned sprint races on the Belmont  Central field. This Site Q still recognizes Tiger as the undefeated champ, respective of the fact that “sanctioned” sprints are limited to Tiger and elementary school boys of Let Me Run. Rinse and repeat for a total of 3 sprints, a final 5 burpees for the train, then mosey back to the start for the official AO naming.

NMM:

Great group this morning. We pushed it pretty hard and most def pretty consistently. Which is the measure YHC shoots for. Think the pax got a good reason to show. Looks like we have a site Q! Orangeman! So I guess we get a name next week? Plan is to work it out at Primal tonight. Show to know! Beer tastes pretty good as a buttermilk chaser.

Day One at Belmont Central

After much more discussion than was needed, the day finally arrived to test a new Friday morning option for Gastonia region.  Strong number of Pax came out to show support.

No FNGs, let’s get started.  10 SSH, 10 Grass Pickers, 10 burpees.  Mosey.

Track with play ground equipment is at the soccer field beside school.  YHC calls for modified Murph.  Run a lap, 10 reverse rows, 20 merkins, 30 squats.   10 rounds.  Track is .2 miles.

Few minutes remain, mosey to bottom of hill where YHC likes to stage Bo Dereks.  Do few step ups, back up the hill to the flag.  Pledge.

Moleskin:  YHC devotion yesterday was on being powerless.  Speaking of how things happen in life that we have absolutely no control over. Sometimes they are small things in life, but sometimes they are big.   How we respond can go long ways in defining success.

Announcements:  New Q source option also launching in Belmont on Saturdays.  After the boot camp, meet at Cherub’s at 8:00 for Q source discussion.  Breaker Breaker is putting this together.  Q’s will be needed.

Prayer requests: Tick Tock and family, Double Trouble from Metro, Nutria friend Pat that has cancer, Breaker Breaker niece with covid.

YHC took us out.

Always an honor

Tiger
