Details..Details..

10 pax ran the Pub. That sums it up, but Defib said to be sure to add details, so..

After some debate..and some “cranky” pax (I’m only going to run half, I’m going to run slow, I’m running a 9-minute pace, that route is kind of hilly),..I chose to run the good, but boring up-and-back route.

Lots of traffic made it hard to cross and caused some pauses.

Did Freight join us? That’s whose voice I thought I heard yelling “bat, bat” (thinking “bat flippers”), but it was actually Sargento warning of bats, one of which clashed with Termite’s head.

Defib had to turn around half way through to go to work. Sargento didn’t even realize he had been there, but then how would he as he had pulled ahead of the pax.

Sister Act ran his second sub 8 in a week.

“Mr. 9-minute mile” Slaw just about ran a sub 8 himself.

Roscoe popped up..in between vacations..glad to see him back!

Short Sale came through with water and passed it out immediately, unlike at the Midoriyama Slaw beatdown in the afternoon sun and heat where we had to wait..and wait..and wait.

Oh, and Flintstone, we END and 6:15, not START.

Blessed be the Lord!
For he has heard the voice of my pleas for mercy.
The Lord is my strength and my shield;
    in him my heart trusts, and I am helped;
my heart exults,
and with my song I give thanks to him.

The Lord is the strength of his people;[b]
he is the saving refuge of his anointed.

Remember who God is, what He has done for us, who we as believers are in Him.

Waterboy took us out!

This was a good time today! I appreciate the push and encouragement the pax give each other (and with more encouragement from SA, YHC will try to improve on keeping a steady hand during Name-o-rama video ). Thankful for you guys!

Glad Shell Shock is back out there and that Anchorman was in town and could join us.

Laughs and Taffy

7 HIMs plus YHC came out on a muggy morning to put in some miles at Prison Break. I got to sub for my brother who is running hills and leading his youth group at Crowder’s Ridge.

One thing about F3 for which I am thankful is that I know I’ll get a few laughs at whatever AO I post-and for the fact that SA broke his fall-and not his teeth. Had that have happened, he wouldn’t have been able to eat that bag of taffy that he probably had polished off by the time he got to work. Nice one!

Announcements:

Requests:

Roundup and Youth at camp

Word:

You adulterous people![a] Do you not know that friendship with the world is enmity with God? Therefore whoever wishes to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God. Or do you suppose it is to no purpose that the Scripture says, “He yearns jealously over the spirit that he has made to dwell in us”? But he gives more grace. Therefore it says, “God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble.”

“Do not draw the wrong conclusion about God’s jealousy and shrink back from Him because He will not rest content until He possesses all of you. This is the God of grace who is jealous, the One who has given His Son for you. No matter how deep your sin may be, His grace is deeper still.” Sinclair Ferguson

Keep pushing!

For those whom he foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, in order that he might be the firstborn among many brothers. And those whom he predestined he also called, and those whom he called he also justified, and those whom he justified he also glorified.

Romans 8:29‭-‬30

“..in the struggle for holiness in an unholy world, God is with us, behind us, not only AT our side but ON our side. Whatever opposition there may be from the world, flesh, devil, God the Trinity has DETERMINED to POUR HIS ENERGY into making us like Jesus Christ. It is His settled purpose.”  Sinclair Ferguson

Word:

Romans 8:26 ESV

Likewise the Spirit helps us in our weakness. For we do not know what to pray for as we ought, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words.

I like this translation:

So too the [Holy] Spirit comes to our aid and bears us up in our weakness; for we do not know what prayer to offer nor how to offer it worthily as we ought, but the Spirit Himself goes to meet our supplication and pleads in our behalf with unspeakable yearnings and groanings too deep for utterance.

Thankful for you guys, the run, fellowship, ability to do this! Let’s really pray for these requests..lift up Turtleman for tomorrow!

Pax traveling

YHC took us out.

Seems that I couldn’t remember Bubba Sparxx’s name when I asked him to give me a 10-Count; Oh, he reminded me. Seems Bubba Sparxx wasn’t quite sure if he had the Q at Storm tomorrow; I reminded him..He does.

I guess Pillager “forgot” to post; we were going to practice some cadence with SSHs..next time.

Great to have Gator with us for his second post; come back!

In fact, I would encourage more Pax, especially those in the Belmont/Cramerton area to post at Mt Hollywood. I don’t get there much during the school year, but it really is a great venue.

Very thankful,

Seuss

Monthly 5k

We have decided that, as a region, we are going to initiate a monthly 5k.  There will be no medals (sorry Sister Act) and there will be no official times.  You may be asking what’s the point.  That’s a good question.  It has been thought that it would be good to combine two things our region is really good at doing.  Running and donating money.  That’s the purpose of this – to raise money.  All the money raised through the run in December will be donated to a worthy cause.  The cause has not been decided, and feel free to offer your suggestions.   The runs will alternate between our normally scheduled running locations.  Each race will be named after a different PAX. You don’t actually have to pay to join, but if you’re able, it will definitely be appreciated.  If you feel so led you can donate at any time.  Feel free to give your money to myself or Broke.

Ok Ok – I will personally buy the PAX that’s wins the most events a medal.  We will also think of other prizes and such along the way.  Consider this like a skillet, but a little different.

That being said, our first race will be the Jacked Up Leg 5k.  The event will be help at Crossroads on Sunday, June 27th at the normal starting time.

I’m sure some of you may be thinking this is a dumb idea, and you may be right.   Sometimes you just throw ideas at a wall and see what sticks.  The main goal is raising money, but hopefully we can have some fun also.

Hope you’re all doing well and SYITG.

Gashouse Leadership Meeting 6/13/2021

The next leadership meeting for F3 Gastonia will be held at Lineberger Park on Sunday, June 13th at 4pm. This meeting is for ALL PAX who wish to attend and your SLT will provide updates on the happenings to date and also outline some planned activities for the remainder of the year.

The input of the PAX in our region is critical to our continued growth, so please reach out to me if you have any specific items that you would like to discuss. I’ll do my best to accommodate everyone, but would like to keep the meeting to 1.5 hours max.

If you have the time, plan on hanging around after for some 2nd F. There are plenty of options nearby for food and drink, or you can get in a little EC on the greenway while you’re there.

SYITG,

Broke
