Two Man Group

One PAX showed up for the Workout.

Mosey to School Crossing sign.

5x Burpees at each utility pole until we cross the other school crossing, turn around and head back.

10x Big Boys at each utility pole, turn around and go back.

20x Squats at each utility pole.

Mosey back to the Middle School Parking Lot.

Shoulder Blasters: Perform exercise until Q changes.

Exercises: Baby Arm Circles; Reverse Baby Arm Circles; Moroccan Night Clubs; Chinooks; Air Press; Seal Claps; Overhead Claps; Cherry Pickers.

Warmup: Goof Balls x 15; Toy Soldiers x 15

Mosey to First Presbyterian Church Parking Lot.

Q-Sprints: The Q calls out an exercise and the PAX do the exercises AMRAP until the Q says to “GO”.  The PAX then sprint to the other side of the parking lot.  Then they mosey back to the start.  Rinse and Repeat.

Exercises: Big Boys; CDDs; Crunchy Frogs; Mike Tysons; Flutter Kicks; Groiners; LBCs

Mosey to another parking lot for some 11’s.  The exercises are Tiger Squats & Merkins.

Mosey back to the Middle School lot.  Burpee Dans – 4 lunge walks to 1 Burpee, Rinse and Repeat until we cross the parking lot.

Slow and Steady

9 HIM made it out to Folsom on this, balmy 60 degree morning.

Warm up was typical and nothing fancy.

Before moving into the first part of the workout we talked about exercise “form” and possibly one of the main cause of form degeneration (and subsequent injury due the bad form) MAY be that many times some PAX will breeze through an exercise while another struggles through it and after a few rounds the PAX that was behind starts to compromise form to keep up with the group. So to test this theory all of our work this morning was done slowly and deliberately and there were “catch up” points built into each evolution.  It all seemed to work well with the work being hard enough to keep the sweat on everyone’s brow but still truly “leaving no man behind” because let’s face it we’ve all been the six and will be again for one reason or another!

The work was simple,

At the picnic shelter we did:

Bulgarian split squats, dips, step ups, and derkins, 3 rounds of 10 reps

 

In the parking lot we did:

Paula Abdule’s with lunge walking forward and backwards and 2 Mike Tysons, every 3 space we would hold plank for the 6 then continue.

 

In the tennis courts we did:

Escalators, one exercise per court stacking them as we moved (together of course)

5 squats, 10 Hibillys, 15 mountain climbers, 20 plank jacks, 25 air presses, 30 LBCs

and of course if you stack the exercises then you must unstack them on the return trip.

 

Back at COT we had just enough time for some ab lab with: flutter kicks, Freddy Mercurys, American hammers, crab cakes, and LBCs

We ran Sargento had to run solo the Three Amigos left out a few minutes early to get some extra miles.

The question I have been thinking about today is should we communicate more, or show up to the AO earlier.

Benevolence

7 HIM, one FNG and YHC posted for a brisk morning beatdown.  I have been EH’ing a neighbor of mine and finally got him to commit today.  Welcome Bullwinkle!

After a quick disclaimer here is what we did

Warmup SSH, Merkins, Burpees, LBC and Imperial Walkers.

 

Mosey to Martha’s after reviewing the Credo we proceeded with 11’s with Merkins and LBCs with Burpees in the middle. It seems that I may have become somewhat predictable as Stroganoff seems to anticipate my every move.   Mosey too Soccer field.  4 corners stacking 10 Burpees, 20 American Hammers, 30 CDDs and 40 flutters.  Then de-escalate backwards to first corner.  Getting near time we began the long mosey back but not before knocking out 25 dips, 26 Step ups and 10 Derkins at he picnic tables.  Finally, mosey back but stopping at each light pole for 5 merkins before a prison break to Pelicans.  Time for namorama and naming of the FNG.  Bullwinkle comes to us originally from a small town in Saskatchewan that rhymes with a female body part.  Lucky for him I was benevolent enough to look past that for his nickname.

10 strong Pax showed up for the first gloomy Midoriyama Q after the time switch. Various excuses were made from some no shows; hate to see it. Blart noticed three deer walking from the softball field to the horseshoe pits but they didn’t stay for the work.

Warmup: SSH, Low Slows, Monkey Humpers for tardy Montross, Hillbillies and MNC’s.

Mosey to the distant left side parking lot for…

crowd favorite Dirty Mac Deuce: 12 Reps, Arms, Legs, Core

Set #1 Werkins, Low Slows, Flutters x 12 IC, run a lap around the lower parking lot.

Set #2 Burpees 12 OYO (as promised in the warmup, but no Slaw), Monkey Humpers, Freddie Mercs x 12 IC, run a lap.

Set #3 MNC’s, Mountain Climbers, Big Boys x 12 IC, run a lap.

Set #4 CDD’s, Calf Raises, Dying Cockroaches x 12 IC called by Broke so I could catch my breath, run a lap.

Set #5 Diamond Merkins, Lunges, LBFC’s x 12 IC, run a lap.

Stay here for the next Thang.

Throughout the workout I would read a line from a few of my favorite movies and ask everyone to guess the movie. This didn’t go very well as most of these kids haven’t seen any movies made before 2010.
