According to all accounts, they rucked it…
The last time YHC lead The Goat, it was a coldish (Tesla had on long sleeves), wet day. Today seem like a rinse/repeat but with warmer temps. Last time attendance totaled 3, luckily today we doubled that especially given the races this weekend / tapering. YHC had prepared for the rainy day, although in hindsight, we could run normal.
Nonetheless, here is how it went.
No FNGs, so lets get to it…. Mosey to the gazebo.
Break out the deck of cards…
Hearts – SSH
Diamonds – Air Presses
Spades – Squats
Clubs – Big Boys
Non-Face Cards, do the number on the card
Face Cards = 20
Aces = 25 of all four exercises
Following the counts of BlackJack, when the total is 21 or more, take a lap around the square.
We continued until time was out.
Prayer Requests:
- Nutria’s family with stomach bug
- CPAP & Dirt – Job Search
- Mortimer, P70 & P200 teams
Praises
- Pillager’s Grandparents Birthday this week
- Nutria’s Van problem covered under warranty
YHC took us out.
Thanks to all that attended. It was an honor to lead. Maybe next time we can have dry weather.
Watts Up Powering Down
A few weeks back Flintstone asked YHC to take today. He had the day off and wanted to sneak off to F3 Shelby to join his friend Latte for Blocks by the Fire.
So here we are. Thanks Dirt for the EC…
7 joined YHC when 0530 hit. No FNGs, so no disclaimer.
We knocked out The Pledge of Allegiance to start.
Today is National Peanut Cluster Day. Dirt noted that its also International Women’s Day and YHC added its also National Proofreading Day.
Are these related? Maybe.
How do these relate to what is planned…
Mosey….To KFC.
There was a brief discussion (given the length of the mosey) if this workout needed a special disclaimer about any hidden nut allergy or possible milk… again . No Epi-Pens provided.
Copying is a form of flattery, they say. (Or lack of originality) So we started on a modified recent Broke Q.
4 Exercises, done IC. Starting with 5 and going to 1.
- SSH
- Squat
- IW
- LBC
Mosey on to Withers and Whisenant.
Time for The Cooper.
10 Burpee’s, 10 Merkins, 10 Squats, 10 Big Boys then take a lap around the loop. Rinse and repeat with 9,8,7…all the way down to 1. (Full disclosure, YHC did Flying Squirrel as shoulder is not 100%)
Still plenty of time left, so mosey to Fidelty Bank.
In Broke’s Q, the 4 Exercises were done IC and were 10 to 1. So it was time to catch the rest.
4 Exercises, done IC. Starting with 10 and going to 6.
- SSH
- Squat
- IW
- LBC
Lap around the building.
Time was getting short, so everyone was instructed to pick an Ab exercise. We were going to do 15 IC. It didn’t matter if there were repeats, the idea was to keep at it for the time left.
We did one or more sets of the following:
- American Hammers
- Boxcutters
- Flutters
- Freddie Mercuries
- Dying Cockroaches
BTW, this ended up being way suckier than expected.
30 seconds left, just enough time for a quick mosey to the flag.
Time!

Watts Up Powering Down
Ummm….
Rucking and other stuff.
Sledge didn’t write anything, but they probably rucked and maybe did other stuff.
Either way they didn’t fartsack…
Who knows, AT isn’t writing the backblast. Probably visited Walmart…
0530 Arrives with no one but YHC. Luckily Uncle Ted rolled in shortly thereafter and we got started.
Mosey to the gazebo.
Warmup:
SSH, Imperial Walkers and Merkins.
Enough of that…
Pick one ball from bag 1 and one ball from bag 2.
Bag 1:

Sometimes there were done IC, sometime not. After 5, mosey around the square.
Dirt arrived mid first mosey thinking he was early for EC, seems either his alarm or time is off.
And now there were three. We continued the pattern until near time.
Gather the party favors and mosey to the vehicles.
Knock out The Pledge of Allegiance.
Uncle Ted took us out.
Watts Up Powering Down.
YHC was informed on Wed. Couger would make a rare morning appearance. Additionally Cougar would be bringing a FNG, who was going to be getting married at the courthouse later today. (Cougar is the best man) To pay homage to this event, YHC prepared today’s weinke with a marriage theme.
Alas, no FNG and no Cougar..
Disappointed? Yes
Change the Plan? No
11 PAX where gathered around YHC by 0530.
Its go time…
We knock out The Pledge of Allegiance.
Warmup:
- 21 SSH IC (Toward the end of this set, JJ decided it was finally go time for him, making the total 13)
- 2 Burpees
- 12 Merkins IC

Partner up…
The couples were:
BOS / EZ Rider
Purple Haze / Watts Up
Def Leppard / Sister Act
Flintstone / Slaw
Folgers / Round Up
Broke / Dirt
JJ
As you can see, JJ was the 3rd wheel. He made the best of it by making threesomes with all the couples as the time progressed.
Level 1
One thing about marriage is you do lots of activities together with your partner…
Let’s do 11’s with Hand Release Merkins on Level 1 and Squats on Level 2. Take the stairs to get to Level 2, but run the ramp back to Level 1. Partner 1 and Partner 2 do this together at the same time, at the same pace.
Meander to Level 2.
Sometimes a partner doesn’t feel well, is hurt, etc. and the other partner has to do all the work…
Let’s do 11’s again. This time with Burpees on Level 2 and Burpees on Level 3. Again, take the stairs up and the ramp down. This time one partner works while the other planks…
- P1 – 10/1 Burpees, P2 High Plank
- P2 – 9/2 Burpees, P1 High Plank
- P1 – 8/3 Burpees, P2 Low Plank
- P2 – 7/4 Burpees, P1 Low Plank
- P1 – 6/5 Burpees, P2 High Plank
- P2 – 5/6 Burpees, P1 High Plank
- P1 – 4/7 Burpees, P2 Low Plank
- P2 – 3/8 Burpees, P1 Low Plank
- P1 – 2/9 Burpees, P2 High Plank
- P2 – 1/10 Burpees, P1 High Plank
Meander to Level 3
In a marriage, you work together to accomplish goals…
Time for some Dora 1,2,3 P1 does the work, P2 runs to Level 4 via stairs and back via ramp. Then flapjack.
- 100 CDDs
- 200 Calf Raises
- 300 Dying Cockroaches
Mosey back to the flag, with enough time left to get 5 more burpees in for the train…
Time!
Announcements:
- Extinction Run tomorrow (Saturday, 13-Feb) @ Primal – Belmont 0900. Weather is supposed to be perfect.
- Strides of March CSAUP 06-Mar
Prayer Requests were noted and lifted as YHC took us out.
Genesis 2:24
Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh.
Ephesians 5:25
Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it;
Ecclesiastes 9:9
Live joyfully with the wife whom thou lovest all the days of the life of thy vanity, which he hath given thee under the sun, all the days of thy vanity: for that is thy portion in this life, and in thy labour which thou takest under the sun.
Watts Up Powering Down
YHC was sitting in front of his computer (shocker, right?) pondering the contents of the weinke for this morning’s Labryinth. While trolling through Twitter, happened upon the fact that 09-Feb-2021 was supposedly National Pizza Day (which has been verified, BTW). YHC what better way to pay tribute than to create little pizzas (aka circles) and instead of toppings like pepperoni or sausage or onions, we put the toppings like LBCs, Burpees, Merkins, etc. So…
8 HIMs were gathered when 0530 hit. Among the group of regulars was the used to be regular, Gastone. Glad to see him out. Supposedly Gastone is now pregnant with twins…not sure how this all happened, but that is YHC heard….
No FNGs, so lets get started.
Warmup:
21 MNCs IC
2 Burpees
10 Merkins IC
Tesla style hip stretches.
Mosey to the top of the parking lot in Martha’s.
Main Event:
It was at this time, YHC informed everyone yesterday was National Pizza Day and in tribute we were going to run circles and do exercises. You should have heard the enthusiasm (for pizza, not my suggestions).
Perform 10 of the exercise, Run the defined circle.
Perform 9 of the exercise, Run the defined circle.
….
Perform 1 of the exercise Run the defined circle.
Exercise #1: LBCs
Exercise #2: Squats
Exercise #3: Merkins
Exercise #4: SSHs
Each time a set was complete, we moved deeper into parking lot. It looks like lots of little pizzas stacked on each other (In Strava) (Assuming your pizzas are ovals).
Someone at some point said something about the Pub being on Thursdays, but YHC was too out of breath to hear them.
Time was getting short and we were at the end of the parking lot, the last set was shortened to start with 5 and work down to 1 with the absolute crowd favorite of Burpees.
Once those were done, we worked our way back to the flag with everyone getting somewhere around a 5K in for the morning.
We caught the Pledge of Allegiance to finish out the time.
Observations
- Everyone like Bellacino’s pizza.
- Blaze has good pizza.
- There is a great deal of nostalgia around the cardboard-esc pizza from days long ago in school.
Announcements:
- Extinction Run
- The Strides of March CSAUP
Prayer Requests were mentioned.
YHC took us out.
Thanks for the opportunity to lead. If you missed today’s (or Monday’s), you can come get powered up on Friday at Downtown (EC @ 0500).
