No Weinke?

I was so pumped I rolled into the Folsom gloom about 20 minutes early. Why not get in a little EC? Stretch a minute and mosey a few laps around the tennis courts to get the lungs pumping. I see some headlights, looks like YHC won’t be alone. Mosey back to the start and here comes another PAX. So 3 for a good ole MW beatdown. 5:30, time to clock in. With no Weinke, looks like we will wing it.

Mosey down to the ballfield parking lot, stopping at the bump for 5 burpees OYO. On the six for some more LBCsx 15 IC and flutter kicks x15 IC. Always an honor to Q you guys. After this one, I think I’ve gotten how to do “Real Flutter Kicks!” I’m almost sure I’ve been performing baby flutters for almost 2 years.

Burpees for Bulldog

After noticing the challenge from Gastone to Bulldog about 100 burpees, I sprung into action to Omaha my Weinke. I probably shouldn’t have mentioned it on that social media deal Twitter, cause the lack of personnel was obvious this AM at Folsom. So, I roll into the gloom and to see that no other PAX were present. 5:20 hits so I hop out the truck and figure I’ll have myself a solo post. Wait…..off in the distance I notice 2 unidentified Folsom rats. Looks as if these 2 were doing EC prior to the Q. YHC stretches while keeping the optics clear. I shall mosey, hit the tennis courts, nice and smooth now, for a few laps and over the horizon are headlights like the sun was about to rise. There’s my old chum, Sparky.  I was quickly informed that the rats I spoke of were actually women who apparently want to do some FIA but most likely have never heard of FIA. Aight 5:30.

pick a corner for 20 burpees OYO, on your six for 30 LBCS OYO, recover then mosey around the courts to the sixth corner, I know there’s only 4 but pass through jail them keep getting it, stop for 20 burpees, 30 LBCS, recover, mosey 7 corners stop for 20 burpees 30 Lbcs, mosey 7 corners 20 burpees and 30 lbcs, mosey 6 corners for 20 burpees and 30 lbcs, since Bulldog had abliged to the challenge of 100 adding 1 for EC, we added 2 more. Mosey around and back down to the parking lot. Hmmmm……..no SHOVEL FLAG??? Welp, lets mosey to the park entrance for the pledge. Then take off and mosey back to start. Well, we went over about 3 minutes but, we knocked out 102 burpees, 150 lbcs, and logged in 1.9 miles. Not bad?

COT As men, we are all tempted and challenged by the grit of sin in our society. We need to focus on what God intended, which is “reach the lost with the Gospel!” When we focus on that, the battle with sin becomes easier. We will never be capable of wslking in glad submission to Christ, flawless, but we should strive in our hearts and minds to have self control over temptation. We are going to fall, but get up, God loves us no matter what!! We will learn from those failures and in reality we will become stronger in fighting them!

Prayer YHC took us out

mokeskin

It seems pretty stupid to get up at 4:30, get dressed to go hang out with a bunch of dudes, sweat a little bit, and socialize, right? Well, yes, getting up at that time for anything is pretty stupid, but what F3 has established that falls into those 45 minutes to an hour is way more than some social gym time. We are Men in our community. Men are meant to be strong and lead not only within our homes and churches, but also in our communities. What better way to call out those men in our community than offer free workouts and manly fellowship? Thanks for all you guys who push me, encourage me, and bust my chops when I slack or fartsack. That’s breeding leadership. Always a honor to Q, great work men……..I mean Sparky!

Some stuff in the rain, with a little wind

With the possibility of gale force winds and torrential rainfall, YHC wasn’t about to expect a huge turn out at Folsom this AM.  Along with the QIC, there were 2 HIMs willing to risk their lives and post in the gloom of Folsom. After discussing how bad it is that a Pax(Roadie) would call another(Hank) out directly the night before, then not post himself, we decided to clock in.

Route 66 has been popular lately and YHC enjoys the challenge, so line up in the parking lot. Lunge walk every other line stopping for 8 count body builders for, you guessed it, a total of 66. Recover, mosey around back to line up again for some 11s with merkins and SSH. Recover, 10 burpees OYO. fellowship mosey a distance then speed the pace a touch. Oh, speed bump. It’d be an injustice to Pizza Man if YHC hadn’t acknowledged the crossing of at least 1 speed bump with 5 burpees OYO. Continue mosey to start. Finish up with 22 merkins for the vets.

Nice work and thanks men for braving the catastrophic weather to post. Always an honor to lead.

Hungry Hippos……sort of…..

3 Pax fought the sack to hit the Folsom gloom for a beat down. Chatter was high about how great it felt. The air was nice, cool, and finally breathable. Whoops. 5:31 so we clock in.

warm up;

smurf jacks, mountain climbers, X10 IC………….we hear a sound from a distance……there’s Roadie coming in super hot and joins us just in time for 10 burpees OYO.  Mosey to the park entrance for some core with LBCs, American hammers, XYs x 15 IC( well the XYs were a little tough for the Pax including YHC to maintain cadence, so maybe 12-32?) recover for Pledge. Mosey a loop back to start.

Hungry Hippos was the theme YHC had in mind. Partner up, P1 wheelbarrow P2 about 10 yards while in said position, grab a rock and move it into a bucket, which was placed prior to start, then backward wheelbarrow the 10yards where all Pax perform number of exercises. Rotate Pax after each moved rock totaling 6 trips. 1st round with 10 hand release burpees, 2nd round 20 merkins, 3rd round 30 crab cakes, 4th round 40 high knee lunges, 5th round 50 Al Gore SQUATS, 6th round 60 french fries……..mumble chatter……..Ok 60 LBCs. After round 1 of wheelbarrow, modifications quickly were made to prevent further injury to a couple Pax, instead of wheelbarrow, lunge walked each round. With a few minutes left, mosey to the lower shelter for dips, step ups x15 IC, fellowship mosey with some real fellowship back toward start, at about half way, YHC calls for All You Got back to start.

Prayer

Nice work men. thanks for the opportunity to lead. Thanks for the opportunity to be a part of a Real Men’s organization where you get 3 very important aspects of life rolled into 1. I saw a quote the other day, “The Task Ahead of You is Never As Great as the Power Behind you.” F3 is always behind you, whether it’s just a push during a brutal workout or encouragement and support during a hard life struggle. Let’s push Tha rock and continue to grow these relationships and build manly leaders within our communities.

“Be strong in the lord, and in His Mighty Power.” Eph 6:10

MW’s return Q with only 2

As easy as it could’ve been to fartsack this morning, YHC had the Q and I couldn’t let Folsom down. Rolling in with a couple minutes to spare, I see 1 lonely vehicle in the lot, which is not all that unusual at Folsom. Some PAX roll in hot on the start. Anyway, 5:30 let’s roll,

YHC closed out in Prayer

F3 has been a real blesssing to a part of. It has been extremely hard for me to get back out there after about 7 months on IR. Seemed like I just couldn’t get healed up enough along with lost drive and motivation after being sidelined so long. What hit home was studying 2 Timothy past few weeks, seeing how Paul persevered in his commitment to spread the gospel. Even when he had been beaten, stoned, and imprisoned, he had a mission, he had drive, he had reason. Paul continued til his martyrdom to fight no matter the adversity. That hit home with me to get up and get back out there not just for the fitness, but for the fellowship and encouragement, and the drive to be a strong, godly man and help to grow more in our community.  Always an honor to Q!

Not Too Complicating

Other than QIC, 1 loyal PAX shows up for the first Folsom meeting of 2017. Seems like there are still several recovering from New Years or other non alcohol influenced illnesses. Once 5:30 hit, I thought about the possibility of a couple that might roll in hot a little late, but those guys were truly under the weather. Yes, I even felt like staying in the fartsack hearing the pouring rain hitting the windows of the house, but I couldn’t stand the crew up. No FNGs, so let’s roll.

Before the mosey back up to the vehicles, we hit the ground for 22 Merkins for the Vets. Trying to get 2 miles in, we fell short this time. No big deal, we did, hit around 1.2 or so. this morning was a reminder of what Whoopee had mentioned before, that no matter how small the group, a lot comes out of it. It’s a good time to get to know each other better individually. Huck and I had some good conversations. Whoopee was right. It’s always a great time and honor to Q.

Box Jumps Are not An F3 exercise!

Expecting cooler weather, 5 Pax roll up into the gloom while a mist of rain is still in the air. It was actually very nice at 53 degrees for the set Q. On the ride in, the F3 Folsom group text started tuning in. Roadie, Shingle, and sparky mention they wer n the way. Well, Sparky is usually not on time and coming in hot around 10 minutes in, but not today. Shingle rolls in with a comfortable minute to go, then coming in real hot is Roadie, not sure how that ole Yota handles the turns like it does but it arrives seconds before warmup. It’s 5:30, Sparky still has 10 minutes to be on his time. Let’s hit it.

We should do the pledge!” YHC abliged, the flag was looking pretty damn awesome so tha Pledge.

long mosey up to the horse arena. Mumble chatter, Huckleberry said something about wishing the horse arena were no more, and others saying “it’s never good going up the hill at Folsom!” Through all that, I reminded the PAX of Whoopee’s shadow of Dredd. “Fatigue makes cowards of us all,” that hit home, so the Men dug in. Alright, at the arena Concrete stands, find a spot. Box jump up each of the 5 levels, at the top 10 burpees, come down, 10 dips on the lower step, then 10 Merkins. Once announced, Huck mentioned “I’m not sure box jumps are a F3 exercise!” YHC said it should be, hahahaahaha. Anyway. When finished, take a quick lap around the arena track. Plank it up, then rinse and repeat. Once finished, long mosey down to the pond parking lot. More mumble chatter, something about, “the only time we come to this lot is for bear crawls” they were right. Line up, bear crawl to the center line, 5 Merkins, continue to the end for 10 Merkins, turn around and repeat back to start. Plank it up, now lunge walk to the center for 5 squats, then to the end for 10 squats, turn around and repeat back to start. Long mosey around the lower pond to the shelter. LBCs x20 IC, some slow cadence involved, 20 big boy sit-ups OYO, YHC hears something about a Gomer Q, so 10 burpees OYO. Gomer never Qs burpees. Rinse repeat. Time running short, QIC had to include a favorite of Whoopee, so mosey to the Turd Shed for some hip slappers, 10 IC. Alright, good finishing mosey back to the upper lot, which is always rough at the end, but the PAX pushed tha rock and fought the hill. Time running out, I had to pay respect to the Vets with 22 Merkins OYO.

Man, Sparky must still be on his way?????

just want to say how thankful I am to be a part of this group and movement. The accountability and encouragement that F3 has set the tone for is Awesome. To be honest, without it, I wouldn’t be up at 5:30 4 days a week doin this! Thanks for the opportunity to Q. Great work Men, let’s keep it up. As Dredd says, “it starts with love!”  How could you not love F3? Even though it is pretty ridiculous.

Nothing really planned

Had a pretty good turnout in the Folsom gloom for a Tuesday beat down. It’s only about 29 degrees, I’m guessing that’s the reason for all the farsacking going on. I really dropped the ball on preparation, but at Folsom, it’s easy to wing it. 5:30 hits, so let’s do it!

Welp, follow the balboas with 20 burpees OYO. Mumble chatter pretty heavy, but I still had one more exercise to add, yes, crunch position leg extensions x 20 Iac on YHC count. Rinse repeat 4 times. I check our distance and we’re short of 2 miles by 4 tenths and time is getting slim, so let’s mosey around the lower parking lot the long way back up to the flag. My watch says 1.9 miles. thankful for this movement and especially the Folsom guys and the accountability.

A Little Bit of 4 Corners

to start off with, I have to apologize that I never got the BB posted from Oct. 27. Honest overlook, and I can’t find my Weinke. Sorry Folsom guys, it won’t happen again.

Looks like 4 loyal PAX decided to relieve themselves of the fartsack to face the gloom with brisk cold air and an overwhelming dose of wild fire smoke lingering around the AO area. It’s a reminder of just how bad our friends in the foothills are struggling with this terrible situation. Praying for a fast containment! Ok, somebody is rolling in hot, not just hot, smokin. And it’s Gomer……after almost taking out several pear trees and the monkey bars, he exits his vehicle in like fashion prior to a complete stop with shorts and boots. Man, what a spectacular entry, ok it’s 5:30, get to business.

Long mosey down around the lower parking and back up the hill to arrive at the tennis courts. Line up for Burpee Dans, lung walk 4 steps followed by 1 burpee the entire length of the 6 courts. Mumble chatter around the 3rd court, I looked over at Dolph and he reminded me of how stupid this was going to be  and immediately my thighs called Omaha, so we hit half the distance then turn around to lunge walk 4 steps followed by 2 burpees to original start point. PAX were grateful YHC changed the play, including myself. Now for some four corners. Mosey straights, at corner one 10 burpees, mosey back to start, mosey through corner 1 to 2 for 10 burpee, 20 merkins, back to start, mosey through to corner 3 for 10 burpees, 20 merkins, 30 squats. Back around to start, mosey through to final corner which is starting point for 10 burpees, 20 merkins, 30 squats, 40 lbcs. Looked easier on paper, but the PAX pushed through. Time left, so let’s do suicides. Widths of each court, we stop for a burpee at each stop. Let’s mosey it out with a good final lap around the emotive court area.

Prayers lifted for PAX to be leaders and prayers for our Nation and it’s leaders.

great work men! It really doesn’t get easier. Thanks for the opportunity to Q this group of guys!

Pretty Simple

Nine loyal PAX rolled up into the Folsom gloom for a simple beat down this AM. Nothing like the cooler air of the coming fall mornings to get you pumped. YHC didn’t plan a technical or extravagant Q, but all in all, it worked out. With some chatter about election, society, and work we stretch it out to wait for any other non fartsackers.
