Gratitude

Record 22 at The Sword this morning! String start on the first Monday in 2023. Some ran, some rucked, and at least one was spotted runking. Afterwards I discussed my word for the year, gratitude. 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 says rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus. The Hebrew term for gratitude translates “recognizing the good”. By doing that it has an uplifting and multiplying effect in our lives.

Sub Q at The Sword

Light crowd at The Sword this morning, I guess the rain scared a few guys off.

Filled in with the Q for Huck and we discussed Psalm 130:1-8 and the importance of being honest about where we are , who we are and who God is. Be thankful for all you have, you are forgiven and accepted by God.

Without Love

You have nothing. 11 pax at The Sword this morning. Good job starting the week off right! Some ran, some rucked, one even run-rucked(bat flipper). After words we talked about love. I didn’t have just one verse to share. I also shared some exerts from a book I’m reading and a recent devotional. We have to take a moment and put ourselves in others shoes before we let our anger loose. We need to understand each others viewpoint. We may still disagree but I bet we won’t be as angry.

1 Corinthians 13:1-8

Our Actions Affect Others

7 PAX started off the week with a run followed by a discussion on how our actions affect others. Make a difference in the lives of others by living according to Ephesians 4:31-32 “Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice. Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.”

The Sword 8-1-22

Two runners and a rucker made it through the high humidity at The Sword this morning.

Psalms 1 – “Blessed is the one who does not walk in step with the wicked or stand in the way that sinners take or sit in the company of mockers, but whose delight is in the law of the Lord, and who meditates on his law day and night. That person is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither – whatever they do prospers. Not so the wicked! They are like chaff that the wind blows away. Therefore the wicked will not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the assembly of the righteous. For the Lord watches over the way of the righteous, but the way of the wicked leads to destruction.”

Be Ready

11 pax worked on being sheetz ready at the Sword this morning. We also discussed being heaven ready. Luke 12:35-40 is the get right and leave right for your soul. Matthew 24:29-31,36 We don’t know when he is coming back but we better be ready.

Moleskin:

I’m growing concerned with the lack of modesty I’m seeing in the pax. Between the tights and ranger panties there isn’t a lot left to the imagination. I mean if you’re rocking a 1″ inseam and we don’t see your justifier I do feel bad for you but lets just leave that at home!

What a morning

Highlights from the run…..

  • Wichita ran shirtless in ranger panties and was able to flex and pose as he ran through town at a sub 8 pace
  • Sister Act followed Wichita and drool was seen flowing from his mouth
  • Sparky showed early to run 5, but only got in 1 mile due to visiting every bathroom and porta john in Dallas
  • Round  Up followed Sparky’s lead and also hit the porta john
  • Double Stack showed late and didn’t know to be back by 0600 so he pushed the rock until 0615

Highlights from the word…

  • Leadership lessons from King David
    • To be God’s leader requires Patience
    • To be God’s leader requires Humility
    • To be God’s leader requires Courage
    • To be God’s leader requires Faith
    • To be God’s leader requires Grace

Tripping vs. Falling

Running, walking, merkins, weight vests and trips to the port a potty were all spotted at The Sword this morning.

Afterwards we discussed the difference between tripping and falling.

Psalm 37:23-24 – “The Lord makes firm the steps of the one who delights in him; though he may stumble, he will not fall, for the Lord upholds him with his hand.”

Sword 1-24-22

Nine PAX gathered at The Sword this morning for a run or ruck and to discuss the book of Proverbs.

Instead of choosing a specific verse to discuss this morning, YHC decided to discuss the importance of daily bible reading and specifically the book of Proverbs. If you don’t have a daily reading plan, or are unsure of where or how to start, try reading in the book of Proverbs each day. In Proverbs, God teaches us principles that will bring us peace and contentment, rebukes us for our sinful acts, teaches us how to live, and trains us on righteous living.
