Cadre Roony

Q’d up another workout. Wanted to bring something a little extra to the Greatest Ruck AO in Gaston County.

Pledge

The Thang:

The Cadre Roony WOD

Start: 400M Ruck

5 Rounds with pack on:

  • 75 Mountain Climbers (4 count)
  • 75 Squats
  • 200M Ruck
  • 75 Flutter Kicks (4 count) – Hold pack overhead
  • 75 Overhead Arm Claps (4 count)

Finish: 400M Ruck

We ended up completing 3 rounds due to time.

I’ll have to admit doing exercises in cadence was a little extreme. We couldn’t count as we were already gasping for air. We omahad to 150 OYO count right leg only for MTN Climbers and Flutters and 150 OYO overhead claps after the 1st round.

This workout was created when Cadre Roony was diagnosed with Stage IV pancreatic cancer. GORUCK worked with him to put this WOD together so that you can complete this WOD in support of Cadre Roony. Cadre Roony passed away on April 3rd, 2019 after his battle with pancreatic cancer. More info can be found at the GoFundMe page created for him.

Diablo Britches

We had a good crowd, mostly rucked, did a few exercises, and solved some problems. The fellowship with rucking is unique. Come try it out whether you are in Dallas or GasHouse, give it a shot.

We did not do a namorama-Q fail. And it is very late. Dang, not a good example. If I am lucky, no one will read this…..ever. It was July 2 and I believe we had the regulars.

Ruckership

3 showed for some Rucking with a round of 11s for good measure.

2.6+ miles, squats and calf raises.

4 for rucking. 1 for running. Merkins squats lunges heel raises and 4 and a half minute abs. Almost 2 miles covered. Watts Up almost tore something.

Lake Whoopeegonagetcha

7 REAL MEN showed for another Diablo Sammich. There were some words btwn Whoopee and Oompa earlier in the week, so I was happy to see a good crowd. We took off with our rucks and a little something special for Oompa. I think we got 2.52 miles in with a short bit of arm/shoulder work. I threatened to bring my angry eyes but the best I could come up with was the rock I got from Dr. Feelgood at our CSAUP at Crowder’s Mountain that said “keep pushing.” We never saw Oompa but I was able to hand it off to Sargento who delivered it to Oompa for me.

Once we got back to start (or just before we got going, can’t remember when), Sledge got a little close to me near the puddle at Pelican’s so I did a quick jump in the puddle and got a teeny, tiny, iddy, biddy little bit of water on him…..he got me back a little later.

COT then we were outta there.

Fuddruckers is a good place for a nice sammich or burger. 6 PAX fuddrucked around for 2.6ish miles. Great 2nd F.

Make the Best of the Situation – Diablo Sammich

Solo Q.  No one showed.  I ran 6.5 miles and got in 200 squats.

It was fun.

Exercise and education.  Listened to two full podcasts during the workout.  One was this week’s F3 43′ with Dredd & Dark Helmet, the other was directly related to my professional life.  Made some notes from them afterwards.

Make the most of the time you have, regardless of what you are doing.
