Warmup:

Partner up and one gets a block. Meet in the parking lot. One partner will do an exercise with the block while the other runs to the far side to do 5 reps of another exercise. Switch and rinse and repeat for 3 rounds then I’ll give you another set of exercises. Some of these come from my sandbag workouts I do so we just subbed in the block.

Avalanche/Starburst

Block situp/Tiger squat

Thruster/Rocky Balboa ic

Shoulder to shoulder/lunge

Leg levers/ SSH

Bear hug squat/diamond merkin

High pulls/corkscrew ic

High knees with block overhead/offset merkin(one hand on the curb)

2 Pax posted at Members Only Sunday morning. Tesla showed up for Q Source. Been a little light the last 2 weeks. I hope its due to vacation. The Nantan ran with EC added in. I rucked down some streets I’ve never been on(title of the BB). It looks like I’ll be moving back to Dallas in about a month so I hope turn out will keep up so that this AO can remain open. Sunday mornings with Q source is my favorite day for a post. I hope others will see how special that can be. I will be looking for a site Q to take over for me.

No hairs were harmed during this workout

10 pax posted to F3’s hottest AO on Thursday for a Sargento, no Mayor, no wait Freight beatdown. As always it was an honor to lead and have you guys test out ideas that pop in my head.

Pledge

Warmup:

He’s getting after and it and is even throwing in some off the books work. Keep at it brother it will pay off. Many of us have been in your shoes so we know how tough it can be. Just know we will continue to be here for you.

Swimming

10 pax posted on July 5th. Looks like some stayed out too late shooting fireworks. Whoopee came and ran around for a while all by himself. He left early but I’ll still give him credit just based on age alone. The air was about as thick as it can get. It was hard to swallow and often felt like we were swimming against the current. The below is what we did. Oh and SA didn’t post today, hate to see it!

The warmup:

Sealjacks ic x 15

Don Q’s ic x 15

Low slow squats ic x 15

The Thang:

Dirty 11’s- in the parking lot start at the end of the row. At the island in the middle do a burpee each time you pass. Monkey humpers and WWI situps.

On the wall at the school australian mtn climbers ic x 10 followed by 30 sec wall sits x 3 rounds.

Mosey around the school to the bus area for route 66 Bobby Hurleys. Mayor learned today that route 66 only goes to 11.

Mosey on the trail behind the fields back to the flag.

I’m growing concerned with the lack of modesty I’m seeing in the pax. Between the tights and ranger panties there isn’t a lot left to the imagination. I mean if you’re rocking a 1″ inseam and we don’t see your justifier I do feel bad for you but lets just leave that at home!

Correction

8 pax started their Sunday with either a run, ruck, or ride. After words we discussed correction over coffee. T-claps to all of you and your dedication to getting better each and everyday!

Cat Emoji

3 Nantans, past and present, converged at Midoriyama during a wonderful summer time storm. The thunder was really booming while I was doing some EC rucking before hand. Being alone in the park gave way to some good reflection on how awesome thunder is. I figured it was going to be a light crowd due to the storm and even considered if anyone would show at all. I pondered on how many people get struck by lightning and yet we fear it so much. Oh its lightning outside we better run for cover! Do we only swim in the ocean when the sharks aren’t in the water? Do we only drive cars when no one else is on the road? Those things seem as equally or more dangerous. A quick search and I found that the odds of getting struck by lightning are 1 and a MILLION! Also 90% of those that are struck survive. That sounds to me like we’ve made ourselves a bunch of cat emojis. Anyway moving on.

Warmup:

Go get blocks and go to the side parking lot

The Thang:

Run a lap then ruck a lap carrying your block x 4 laps

timer set, do 2 minutes of work and 1 minute of break

1)Plank lat pulls with the block plus a merkin(plank position with your block beside you, reach under past your torso and pull the block to the other side, do a merkin, rinse and repeat)

2)Front squat with the block

3)Overhead press

Run a lap then ruck a lap carrying your block x 4 laps

timer set, do 2 minutes of work and 1 minute of break

1)Avalanche with a glute bridge( on your back holding the block behind your head lift it above your chest, lift your pelvis up, back down, then move the block toward the ground behind your head without setting it down, rinse and repeat)

2)Lunge holding the block

3)Ground to shoulder with the block set it back down, jump over it, rinse and repeat

Run a lap then ruck a lap carrying your block x 4 laps

30 Ground to overhead with the block, jump over the block after each rep

Time!

Burden

15 posted to Folsom on Saturday to help push each other. Todays workout would be about helping your brother to carry his burdens. Little did I know planning this workout that I would have a heavy one laid on me the night before.

Warmup:

There was some discussion about me being parked in the COT location. How was I supposed to know? We weren’t even in the right parking lot! So we started with a mosey to the correct lot and did the warmup there. We did some Don Q’s,  sealjacks, merkins, lbc’s, and the scorpion(something I learned while posting at Oak Island last weekend).

Mosey to the blocks.

The Thang:

Partner up. P1 carries the block headed to the flag at the AG center. P2 does 3 burpees and catches up. Switch off until you make it there.

In the parking lot to the left we continued with the partner work. One partner runs around the island in one direction while the other carries the block and goes around the other direction. When you meet do 1 booyah merkin. Switch who runs and carries the block. Do this until you get to 10 booyah merkins.

Line up on the curb and get a new partner. At this point YHC talked about how sometimes our burdens are light and sometimes they are heavy and how we are called to help our brother carry his when it gets heavy. That is what we were doing by switching who carries the block.

Next we did some DORA. P1 rifle carries the block across the parking lot and back. P2 starts on the reps.

100 Starburst

200 Pointers

300 Back scratchers

Let’s head down to the fork in the road doing the same partner work that got us here.

At the triangle we dropped the blocks for some corner work. At this point there was a parade of seniors that were cruising the park for no known reason. They just kept rolling through over and over. Probably trying to figure out what those whipper snappers were up too.

Corner 1 do 5 squats. Corner 2 do 5 flying squirrels. Corner 3 do 5 crab cakes. Do 5 rounds going up by 5 reps each time.

Partner carry the blocks back to the storage spot and mosey back to the flag.

Prayer Request-Myself, Sarlacc, and Shatners daughters. Gumby’s mom, Space Jam’s dad.

Naked Moleskin:

Overall I can’t complain about my life. I don’t usually have a lot of prayer request because for the most part my issues seem light compared to what I hear others going through. Friday night I ran into the world trying to push against the things I try to teach my daughter in a hard way. For the first time I felt what has been described many times about the COT. When I tried to share it I broke down. I’ll be honest I can’t even remember the last time I cried. I mean years and years. It’s just not something I do. Much less in a group of 14 other men. I couldn’t help or stop it. This was/is a heavy burden! This is my daughter and the devil and the sin in this world has come after her. I cannot say enough about the men in that COT. They prayed with me and for me. They hugged me. They have individually sent me messages the last couple of days letting me know they are praying for us. Crap I’m about to cry again. I’m honored and thankful I have each and every one of you to help me carry my burdens and I welcome the challenge of helping you carry yours!
