Soccer Arms!!

14 HIMS posted for another Pizza Man delivery.  With all the P200 training and runners now in Gashouse, I want to make sure the PAX don’t get a case of the soccer arms.  With that being said, 17:30 hit and it was time to begin.  Brief disclaimer and here we go….

Warm-up:

SSH X 25 IC (well was suppose to be but we had some guys coming in hot so we continued until they joined)

Hillbilly squats X 10 IC

Don Quixotes X 10

Enough of the warm-up, lets mosey to the soccer field to have some fun!!

Workout:

Each corner of the soccer field the PAX completed two exercises then duck walked/lunged along the end lines and sprinted along the sidelines.  The exercises were:

Corner 1:

  • Merkins X 25 SC
  • LBC’s X 25

Corner 2:

  • Werkins X 25 SC
  • Flutter X 25 (50 SC)

Corner 3:

  • Military merkins  X 25 SC
  • Freddy Mercury X 25 (50 SC)

Corner 4:

  • Diamond merkins X 25 SC
  • LBFC’s X 25 *For those who don’t know, this is a crowd pleasure*

*Rinse and Repeat*

After corner work was done, the Q offered option 1 or option 2.  The only thing was I didn’t let anyone know what the options were.  So the PAX choose option 1.  Good choice!!  We need to train for the Burpeethon coming up on April 29th!!  With that being said, the PAX completed 8,9,10,11,12 burpees on every minute.  At the end of this the PAX did 50 burpees in 5 minutes.  Great work men!!

Now it was time for some fun!!  We numbered off for a little 7 vs. 7 soccer game, the only difference is the were no goalies and if your team gets scored on you complete 5 merkins.  It went as I thought it would with men playing sports.  At the end of the game Team 2 was the winner!!  Time to mosey back to the flag and Slaw lead  22 for the VETS.

COT– Pledge, Announcements, Prayer Request

Once again, I want to thank the 14 HIMS that showed for another Pizza Man delivery.  I am honored to lead a great group of men!!  Special thanks to Mastodon for the Streams in the Desert book, it really hits home!!  Until next delivery Pizza Man is OOOOUUUUUTTTTT!!!

You never know….

Well it was a record setting night at Midoriyama.  17 HIMS posted for a special Pizza Man delivery.  17:30 hit so it was time for the delivery.  It was another Thursday so I wanted to use a throwback delivery with some added toppings.  It went like this:

Warm-up:

SSH X 20 IC

Don Quixotes X 20 IC

Seal Jacks X 20 IC

The Thang:

Now it was time for the delivery.  The PAX went on a mosey throughout Midoriyama and at each opening on the right we performed two exercises with 25 reps each. The exercises were:

  • Merkins/LBC’s
  • Incline merkins/Flutters
  • Squats at the big opening
  • Decline Merkins/WWI
  • Wide merkins/American Hammers

After this set we couldn’t pass up the playground for some pull-ups.  While doing pull-ups someone noticed a train horn.  WHAT?  Train horn?  Well, everyone in Gashouse knows that means 5 burpees.  So the Q yelled Omaha and we did 5 burpees.  We then continued our mosey to the next openings for:

  • Diamond merkins/LBFC’s
  • CDD’s/Dying cockroaches

Continued the mosey to the picnic shelter after a count off to hear that record 17 number again.  At the shelter we performed:

  • Dips/Freddy Mercury’s

*Along the way there are four speed bumps which now are called “Burpee Bumps” thanks to Slaw.  At each Burpee Bump the PAX did 5 burpees.*

On the way back the Q went for a detour to slider hill.  The PAX ran down and up the hill then performed 1 burpee at the top, then 2, then 3, then 4, and finally 5.  Great work men!!

Fellowship mosey/mosey to the steps for calf raises.  These are not my favorite so it’s something I need more of.  We completed 5 calf raises on each step.

45 minutes complete.  Now time to mosey back to the flag for 22 merkins for the vets.

Theme of the workout: You never know what tomorrow begins so make the best of each day!!

With that being said, 15 years ago to the day my life suddenly changed.  I can honestly say that it was the worst day of my life.  Some people know but I lost my sister in a car accident.  Everyday was tough because I caught myself always asking why her and not somebody else?  After time of thinking and sole searching I asked myself, Is this the Christian way?  After that I started realizing that each of us are on this earth for a purpose and that God has a reason behind everything.  Now I honestly say that live everyday to the fullest and truly cherish every moment with friends and family I can.  You never know what tomorrow brings!!  I want to say thank you to my F3 brothers for posting to help me through this tough day.  Once again, you see God’s work because nobody knew what this day meant to me but yet 17 HIMS posted to set a record at Midoriyama.  GOD IS GOOD!!!

Isaiah 41:10– So do not fear, I am with you, do not be dismayed, for I am your GOD.  I will strengthen you and help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.

Thanks for giving me the opportunity to lead a great group of men!! Until the next delivery Pizza Man is OOOUUUUUTTTTTT!!

26.2 or a little more in 45 minutes

12 PAX showed for another Pizza Man Midoriyama delivery.  With this being taper week before the Charleston Marathon, I wanted to concentrate more on strength training and being around my F3 brothers with this delivery.  17:30 hit and it was time to begin.  Short disclaimer letting the FNG know that I’m definitely not a professional and that it’s YOU vs. YOU.

Warm-up:

SSH X 26 IC

Don Quixote’s X 26 IC

Thang:

With the warm-up complete, I heard some mubblechatter from the PAX after they figured out where this workout was heading.  This delivery was a little different cause there wasn’t going to be much moseying.  The PAX were to complete each exercise and do 2 burpees after completed.  The exercises were:

Merkins X 26

Incline Merkin X 26

Decline Merkin X 26

Dips X 26

CDD’s X 26

LBC’s X 26

Flutter Kicks X 26

Lunges X 26

Mosey to playground for pull-ups X 26

(2 Burpees after each exercise)

*RINSE AND REPEAT*

After the last set of pull-ups/burpees the PAX circled back up and did 5 burpees, counted off, 5 burpees, counted off, and 5 more burpees.

Mosey back to the flag for pledge and 22’s for the Vets.

After all said and done here are the numbers:

Exercises completed in workout: 26

Reps per exercises: 26 and 2 burpees

Total number of reps: 698 (26reps X 26exercises + 22 merkins for the Vets)

It’s just a Thanksgiving Murph…

Well the clock hit 17:30 at Midoriyama so it’s time to begin.  The F3 GhostFlag or should I say GashouseFlag was present on this evening.  I was really hoping for some takers but I just think that everyone is scared to cross the river into Gaston County.  With that being said, the 10 PAX that showed maybe knew what they might be getting into this evening. I twitted out earlier in the day; may or may not be a Thanksgiving Murph, show to know.  Ash Pond(not going there) traveled with the Nomads Saturday to Latta and before we went our separate ways he said something about doing a Thanksgiving Day Murph.  It was real quiet and Whoopee said he had to work so since I had Q at Midoriyama on Tuesday that was going to be Pizza Man’s delivery.  Thanks for the suggestion Ash Pond!! I’m sure the PAX really loved it.  It went like this…

Nomads visit “The Deep”

3 Gashouse Nomads rolled out of the mall at 5:30am to go visit “The Deep”.  I really enjoy this whole nomad thing cause it gives the group an opportunity to experience the 2nd F with each other.  We arrived at Oakridge Middle School a little early but it was ok, because it let us see how nice SC schools really are and how their lottery money gets put to good use.  Slaw found his parking spot at the sign that says “Secretary” and then one by one the PAX started arriving.  Double-D and Crabcakes  had Q and they didn’t let down.  By doing this nomad thing it also let’s us see new ideas and exercises to bring back to the Gashouse.  Once again I would recommend each of you come experience the nomad workout at least once to enjoy 2nd F with your brothers and visit different AO’s.  Thanks again for driving Slaw!!  Until next time Pizza Man is oooooouuuuuutttttt!!!

Nice weather and Traffic

Midoriyama started off a little different today. The weather was nice and for once it was not hot as h#$%.  Also, there was an accident that had animal parts spill all over I-85 and this caused some Midoriyama regulars to run a little late….and yes I did say ANIMAL PARTS!!  Just have to love Gaston County!!  With the Ghost Flag present, I didn’t figure anyone from F3 Nation would come to capture the flag due to all the traffic and animal parts on I-85.  YHC had another good delivery for anyone coming to take the flag.  It went like this…………

Supreme…

I’m going to start off thanking everyone that was a part of the BRR team!!  That was honestly one of the greatest experiences that I have been a part of.  I would like to send a special thanks to Dr. Feelgood for all the inspiration and leading the 3rd F along the way!!

It was another Thursday at Midoriyama, this time it was a little different, it was a little cloudy and started to RAIN!! That’s right, I said RAIN!!  9 PAX made it out for another one of Pizza Man’s deliveries.  It went like this…

Warm-Up:

SSH, Don Q’s, and Moroccan nightclubs while waiting for some people to roll in.

Thang:

I like to call this the supreme cause it works all areas of the body.  The PAX performed 3 exercises together then sprinted to the end of the horseshoe pit and back.  There were 5 different groups of exercises and they were…

  1. Merkins, LBC’s, Squats
  2. Derkins, Flutters, Alt jumping lunges
  3. Incline merkins, WWI, Calf raises
  4. Dips, American hammers, One legged lunges
  5. Clock merkins, V-up’s, Wall taps

After we went through each of these we had time left so I asked Tool Time, Huckleberry, and Freight for a number 1-5.  The numbers they said were the ones that were rinse and repeated…3,1,and 5

We finished those up and had a little time to finish in Midoriyama fashion with 22 merkins for the Vets!! Then I heard Huckleberry say, “I thought we were going to do burpees” so thanks for the advice, we had time for 5 burpees to finish the delivery.

COT

Strong work as always from the PAX at Midoriyama.  Always a pleasure to lead and until the next Pizza Man delivery….Pizza Man is OOOOOUUUUUUTTTTTTT!!!

One last BRR training session

With the BRR waiting in the gloom on Friday, I wanted to get one last BRR hill run in.  I heard a lot of mubblechatter from the PAX of 11 at this sauna of Midoriyama but I warned everyone that we would be running!!  So it went like this…..

SSH X 15 IC

Hillbillies X 15 IC

Don Quixotes X 15 IC

The Thang:

Took off out of Midoriyama and headed towards Lowell…down and up 15% grade hills (or at least they seemed like it) for 3.5+/- miles…then detoured to the picnic area for 30 dips and 22 merkins…with time running out we moseyed back to the flag to finish with Moroccan nightclubs X 50 IC (thanks Tool Time).
