Maybe This Sucked Less

Biggest take away from this particular day…. 21 is divisible by 3, well normally.

So between the light poles going up the hill, we did trio runs with exercises.  After a few rounds, we moved up to the next set and did more with new exercises.  Made a point to add random event to the team members.

Once at the roundabout, we came back via Lakewood Rd.  Thanks to an unnamed PAX (though not Breaker Breaker (he suggested SSH)),  Bobby Hurleys were called at the corresponding lights.  There are lots of lights down that hill.

The Pledge of Allegiance was recited.

Announcements announced.

Prayer Requests Noted.

Something for everyone at Folsom

Nice cool morning at Folsom!  Start of Mechanics week at the land of beards and Pick up trucks went like this.

Warm-up:  I don’t remember. 🤷‍♂️ normal stuff

Thang: Ok today we have a engine job and we have to take our engine BLOCK to Shelby to drop it off.  Mosey to the Block pile, grab your block.  Folling the paved path we stopped a few times to do 10 reps of triceps, curls, rows(10 each arm), squats.  We made all the way to the Bottom of Round ups Hill.  We dropped Blocks off and ran back to top of hill for 10 Burpees, back to the bottom for 10 WW3. This continued for 3 rounds.  We picked up block and in a similar fashion with stops for triceps, curls, rows, and squats ;  we made our way back to block pile.

With a few minutes left we moseyed to the tennis courts for some Mary and Carry with tires.

Time!

FRC didn’t relocate for a paving project

4 HIM showed for FRC at the normal location. Caution was thrown to the wind. This is what happened…
In the dim pre-dawn hours, when the world was still cloaked in darkness and the air was thick with the quiet anticipation of a new day, four friends found themselves running through a paving construction site. Their names were Quiche, Dr. Seuss, Golddigger, and Sargento, an unlikely quartet whose lives intertwined in ways as unique and unexpected as their names.

Quiche, with his love for culinary adventures, was often the mastermind behind their escapades. His nickname, borrowed from the savory pie, suited his quirky yet thoughtful personality. Quiche was the planner, the one who always had a scheme up his sleeve, and tonight was no different. He had convinced his friends to join him in an early morning jog through the newly paved construction site, promising an adventure they wouldn’t forget.

Dr. Seuss, whose real name was Sam, was the storyteller of the group. His nickname was a testament to his whimsical imagination and love for rhymes. As they ran, he couldn’t help but narrate their journey in a sing-song voice, turning the mundane act of running into a fantastical tale. “Through the site, in the night, we take flight,” he chanted, his words bringing a smile to his friends’ faces despite the early hour.

Golddigger, known for his relentless pursuit of success and wealth, was a sharp contrast to Dr. Seuss’s whimsical nature. His nickname, initially a jest, had become a badge of honor. He approached life with a pragmatic mindset, always on the lookout for opportunities. This morning run, however, was a rare deviation from his usual routines, a chance to bond with his friends away from the hustle and bustle of his ambitions.

Sargento, the steady and reliable one, was the glue that held the group together. His nickname, derived from the Spanish word for sergeant, was a nod to his disciplined nature and leadership qualities. He ensured their adventures were not only fun but also safe. As they navigated through the uneven terrain of the construction site, Sargento kept a watchful eye on his friends, guiding them through potential hazards.

The construction site was a maze of freshly poured concrete and scattered machinery. The smell of wet cement lingered in the air, mingling with the earthy scent of early morning dew. The ground was uneven, and the path was illuminated only by the faint glow of distant streetlights and the occasional flicker of a construction lamp. It was an unusual place for a run, but it was precisely this peculiarity that made it exciting.

As they ran, their laughter echoed through the deserted site, a stark contrast to the usual cacophony of construction work. They dodged piles of gravel and leaped over trenches, their movements fluid and synchronized like a well-rehearsed dance. Each of them brought a unique energy to the group, creating a harmonious balance that made their friendship special.

The adventure culminated as they reached the far end of the construction site, where the first light of dawn began to break through the darkness. They paused, panting and exhilarated, to watch the sunrise. The sky transformed into a canvas of pink and orange hues, a breathtaking reward for their early morning endeavor. In that moment, standing together amidst the unfinished landscape, they felt a profound sense of camaraderie.

Their run through the construction site was more than just a physical exercise; it was a celebration of their friendship and the unique bond they shared. Quiche, Dr. Seuss, Golddigger, and Sargento, despite their differences, complemented each other perfectly. As the new day dawned, they knew that no matter what adventures awaited them, they would face them together, with laughter, creativity, ambition, and unwavering support.

Sargento out!

I Just Wanted to be on the Missing BB List

Most ran, some rucked. As of right now, since this BB is way past due Purple Haze is visiting Italy to learn to talk with his hands, so stay out of arms reach when he gets back as he could be dangerous. Or perhaps he will just lean to one side.

The QSource topic was Meeting. It was epic! Just ask anyone that was there.
