Got to Old School this AM to find a 12 Family Yard sale setting up shop in the parking lot. Oh well I didn’t plan on being here long anyway. Everyone mustered up in the upper parking lot to give the yard sale folks the space they needed. At 0700 on the dot we started the warmup with 1 SSH. That’s right 1 and we’re off running and gunning down through the D Blok hitting a few leg exercises along the way. We made it to our destination in about 12min. or so. That’s when errbody saw my intentions. You see at the first of May I said I wanted to have a few special sport related Workouts. This was my opportunity. We have the perfect number for a 4 on 4 Basketball Based Beat Down today. So we played Make It Take It with a bonus. If you make it you get to watch the other team do Burpees. We shot for captains and it was me and Leppard Legend picking teams. I say that because you give the old man a ball and his alter ego shows up and shows out. He was head faking and shooting Js like nobody’s business. That’s until Wiki decided to put that lock down D on him. It was either that or the hips and knees giving out on him one or the other who knows. I do know that the burpee count was close but I’ll give it to the Legend his crew probably edged mine out by a couple of scores. On the way back we stopped at more random locations in The D Blok this time we did 10 Merkins each while a Chosen PAX did his 10 on the basketball. By the time we got back we’d completed 160 Merkins each.

Had a Great Time out here today guys thanks for the participation. Looking forward to the next one.
Went to The Ricky Bobby this morning with a special rep and workout scheme in mind. Today everything is going to involve a 21 count or 25 count as my family has hit two very different milestones this week. You see earlier this week my youngest child turned 21 and today is my 25th anniversary. My goodness that woman is a saint. She’d be out of prison by now if she had just went ahead and had me put down like she should have all those years ago. Anyway now you’re filled in on the numbers let’s see how it all went down. Quick warmup disclaimer not necessary as there aren’t any FNGs and quickly to work. Triple Nickel in the front parking lot. Burpees on one end and Mike Tysons on the other. That’s 25 of each exercise so far. We get in a quick stretch to limber everything up now that we’ve been moving for several minutes now. Next we move over to the bleachers for some leg work. We did this with a 21 count split between two different movements. First round was 20 Jump Squats followed by 1 Bulgarian Split Squat per leg. Next round was 14 Jump Squats and 7 Split Squats per leg. We followed that pattern and did 7Jump Squats and 14 Split Squats each leg. Finally we finished with 1 Jump Squat with 20 Split Squats per leg. This was brutal and totally unnecessary but it makes the foundation strong. From there we made our way to the rear of the bleachers for some more recovery work and deep stretches. At this point the legs were trashed so we headed down to the longest maze of hand/guard rails I’ve ever seen. Here we got back to the 25s this time with 5 reps of Inverted Rows and 20 reps of Incline Merkins. We worked our way full circle same way as we did the legs finishing up with 20 Rows and 5 Incline Merkins. We’ve got about enough time for a 4 corner 21s Core Finisher. We did 21 of each of the following: Big Boys, Flutter Kicks, Mountain Climbers and finally Hillbillies. stacking the movements along the way we finished back at the flag just as Whoopee and his Misfits showed up from their Ruck. We all caught the pledge together and that was it.

Goodbye
I noticed 6/17 spot at Lifeline needed a Q so I sent a DM to Hot Corner and he said it’s yours. So I planned a short warmup and an even shorter workout that would have the legs ready for what I really wanted to do which was play a little UF Rules Football. Warmup was full of SSHs, Merkins, and lots of mobility work. Whoopee and his band of misfits exited stage left at this point to get in a good ruck while the rest of us got in a quick workout. The workout consisted of lunges, bear-crawls, high knees, but kickers, jogs, and sprints. Now that the legs are juiced and ready to get after it we’re all ready for some football. Mayor complained about team selection process but ever since he’s been on IR he’s been quite the whiney b!+ch anyway. After a few scores between teams the ruckers showed back up and I let Mayors team choose 2 players since they were down a man in the first session. My team picked up Tiger while the lesser squad picked up Whoopie and Roscoe. This seemed to appease any discrepancies in team selection previously mentioned. We still got in a little work while playing. You see the rules were if your team scored then your team does 10 squats. On the other side of the ball if your team is scored on your team does 10 burpees. Team Uno (my squad) did like 60 squats to only 30 burpees. That ratio alone tells you everything you need to know about team Dos and how good Mayor McBrickhands and Slickdigits Stagecoach’s team faired in the game. As a matter of fact if not Mr. Whoop Ass Whoopee himself showing back up the game wouldn’t have been that close. He would be my MVP vote for today if we were doing such a thing. Nothing like getting the game ball for the Altlanta Falcons Superbowl Squad right Whoopee. All jokes aside we all won today because we got in good workout and had some fun while doing so.

6/13 Folsom got its monthly dose of Wirenut this morning. I didn’t even double book myself either. That means they got my full undivided attention.
We got started with a lengthy warmup and stretch. Then we moved on to the new playground for some timed sets with the timer being pull ups. 1 PAX does 10 pull ups while the others do the exercise called by me.
Next we moved to the upper parking lot between the ball fields for the Death By Burpees WOD. It is a 20 min. AMRAP that goes like this.
5-Burpees, 15-Squats, 4-Burpees, 15-Big Boys, 3-Burpees, 15-Merkins, 2-Burpees, 60 sec. Plank, 1-Burpee, rinse repeat as many rounds as possible for 20 min.
This was a killer but we’ve got a little more time so back to the playground for a little core work. First up hanging knee raises followed by Big Boys. Next hanging straight leg raises followed by flutters. Last 3 min. so we did 1 min. of Burpees followed by 30 sec. rest then we hit 1 min. of squats followed by 30 sec rest.

It being the 80th anniversary of D Day I used Stats from the day for reps and sets I used for the work that was put in most in attendance. We had a good turnout and a FNG Parkay. You owe penalty burpees Tiger you can show up to Oldschool and do them for EC the next time you Q there.

5/31. Downtown crowd was pretty good as usual. We started with the Pledge and got straight to it. Good warmup with a lot of cardio stretching and several rounds of burpees.
Next we headed down Main Ave. for Route 66 with HR Merkins followed by a 20 min. AMRAP starting at Oakland St. heading back towards MLK we did work at each light pole on the right.
P1 – 5 Burpees –
P2 – 10 Bonnie Blairs
P3 – 15 Big Boys
P4 – 20 Bungle Boy Squats
P5 – 25 Chuck Norris Merkins
P6 – 30 LBCs
Run back to Oakland and rinse repeat for 20 min.
When we finished up we moseyed on to the Torture Rack for a Triple Nickel of Pull-ups and Step-ups. There was a lot of crying about this as there usually is when it comes to pull-ups but it is the King of Bodyweight movements for a reason. They’re supposed to be hard and they’re supposed to suck. So quit the crying and get to work.
We’re coming up on quitting time at this point so we head back to the Pavilion just in time for 5 more rounds of 5 Burpees OYO. We took a 10 count between rounds for recovery and everyone that showed up finished strong. Even the ones that checked out early.
Good Work Men
Thanks for the hard work today.
Prayers and Praises were spoken. Announcements were announced.

3 showed to Old School this AM for a bully beatdown. I guess they didn’t get the memo that everyone was gonna be at Folsom kissing Freight’s anus today;) Well that’s OK cause misery loves company and what I’m doing today will be miserable but worth it.
Being Mike Tyson is scheduled to beat up a Vine Video kid next month I figured we might as well get in some good ol’ road work all over Dallas. Wile doing so we might s well stop every few minutes and get in some Mike Tysons. We did this until we came to the dreaded Brookgreen and North St. hill. Once here we got to work on Merkins, Big Boys and Squats on the bottom of the hill and Burpees at the top. We finished up with a good amount of time left on the clock so we got back to the road work this time stopping every few minutes for Bonnie Blairs. Once off those nasty hills and back on some nice smooth Kyrie style Flat Earth we had just enough time to go Southbound and Down on Route 66 with Seal Jacks IC. We moseyed back to Old School just in time to get the Pledge and call it a day.
Prayers: Turtleman and his family, Anchorman, PAX traveling, each other, Country
