HIMS of Midoriyama

14 HIMS posted for another Pizza Man delivery.  This delivery had a little bit of everything.  No FNG’s so short disclaimer and lets begin.

Warm-Up:

SSH, Don Q, 10 Burpees OYO

Lets mosey…the PAX moseyed throughout Midoriyama and at every parking lot opening we did 3 exercises.

These exercises were:

  • Merkins, LBC’s, 5 burpees OYO
  • Incline merkins, Flutters, 5 burpees OYO
  • Derkins, Butterfly sit-ups, 5 burpees OYO
  • Mike Tyson’s, American Hammer, 5 burpees OYO
  • CDD’s, Freddy Mercury’s, 5 burpees OYO

Along the mosey we stopped at the bleachers for a set of dips and continued on to my favorite hill for Triple Nickel.  Each HIM was to run the hill do 5 squats at the top and run back down to do 5 WW1’s at the bottom. (Rinse and repeat 5 times)  Good work men and way to push each other!!  On our mosey back we stopped again for more dips then QIC wanted to get the PAX heart rates up so we lined up along the sideline of the soccer field for an all out sprint.  Damn these men of Midoriyama are quick!!!  We continued our mosey through Midoriyama performing exercises at each opening but did not forget the 5 burpees at each speed bump.  With time running short, we lined up for zombie walks with a  added burpee back to the flag and finished with Oompa Loompa taking us out with 22 for the VETS.

Until next delivery Pizza Man is OOOOUUUUUUUTTTTTTT!!!!

Mental Toughness…

14 warriors posted for a Pizza Man Q on mental toughness.  Today felt a little different at Midoriyama with the humidity and heat down.  17:30 hit and  it was time to get this thing rolling.  With no FNG’s, still a short disclaimer due to some injuries at Midoriyama over the past weeks.

Warm-up:

Seal Jack X 20 IC

Don Q’s X 10 IC

And now to get the mental toughness started…

10 burpees OYO on every minute X 5

Thang:

Now with the heart pumping lets mosey to the soccer field but remember 5 humpees at the speed hump.

Circle up for some Tabata work:

The PAX were to perform each exercise for 30 sec. and then go to the next.  We did this for 3 sets.

Exercises were:

Merkins(Regular, Wide, Walking Hand)

Squat to calf raises

LBC’s

With that complete, lets go…mosey to the hill at the dog park for a little TRIPLE NICKLE.  PAX were to run the hill, at the top perform 5 American Get-ups(We aren’t Turkish) then run back down and do 5 WWI sit-ups.  With it being called TRIPLE NICKLE, that means repeat for 5 times.  Good work men…this is when mental toughness was needed.  QIC explained that when your body is saying I can’t or wants to stop, that’s when you need to tell yourself you can and to push!!! Look around at all the HIMS around you and feed off of that.

Lets keep that heart pumping…mosey on to the playground for some more Tabata work.

This time the exercise were:

Pull-ups

Windshield wipers

Planks(Rows, Alt hand lifts)

We modified to 2 sets due to time

With around 6 minutes to go lets mosey back to the flag for real mental toughness.  With your body worn from the previous 40 minutes, tell your body to push and you can do it!!

That’s right…circle up for 10 burpees OYO on every minute X 5

Time!!

Much respect to Oompa Loompa for posting for the COT…Get better brother!!

Good work men!! Way to be strong and push through!!  As I mention throughout the workout, the reason all the HIMS post is to not only better themselves but be there to push each other.  Just remember going forward that when you think you don’t have it in you, dig deep and tell your body you can!!!

Until next time Pizza Man is OOOOUUUUUUTTTTTTT!!!!

Keep pushing that ROCK…

14 HIMS showed for a Pizza Man delivery.  It was my first post at Midoriyama in two weeks so DL gave me the Q and I wanted to make sure that everyone missed me.  With that being said, I knew there might be a little mubblechatter with what QIC had planned.  Pulling up to Midoriyama I was thinking this was going to be a soggy pizza delivery but then the rain subsided and it got HUMID like Midoriyama always is!!!  Well it’s 17:30 and time to begin.  Short disclaimer….

Warm-Up:

SSH x 20 IC

Don Q’s x 15 IC

Various merkins- 5 reg, 5 wide, 5 diamond, 5 right hand out front, 5 left hand out front, 5 reg (PAX really loved this!! Thanks to the Fighting Mongol)

Moroccan nightclubs for Lil Sweet’s arrival

Thang:

Enough with the warm-up…let’s mosey  to the soccer field but not before 5 burpees at the speed bump.  The PAX grabbed a spot on the bleachers for 20 dips IC.  Now that the arms are pumping partner up.  Partner 1 grab a coupon from the woods and Partner 2 plank until they return.  The PAX lined up on the sideline for some DORA 1,2,3.  The exercises were 100 merkins, 200 curls, 300 LBC’s.  While one partner was doing the exercises the other partner ran across the soccer field.  Good work men!!   Now that we have the blood flowing, the QIC wanted to get the cardio up so the PAX lined up on the sideline.  There was a lot of mubblechatter about sprints but that didn’t happen.  We burpee long jumped across the soccer field reminding the PAX about the Burpeethon on Sept. 16th.  With everyone out of breath, half of the PAX put the coupons up while the others planked.  Everyone ready?  Let’s mosey…to the hill we went for 11’s.  The PAX completed WW1’s at the bottom and squats at the top.  There was a lot of mubblechatter here and that’s when QIC explained that you have to be mentally tough.  Your body tells you that you need to stop but your mind and F3 brothers tell you to keep pushing that rock.  Good job pushing that rock!!  With about 5 minutes left it was time to mosey back to the flag.

Thanks to Blart for not letting me forget to do 22 for the Vets

It was nice to get back out to my Midoriyama brothers.  As I mentioned earlier, we all need to be more mentally tough.  No matter what stands in front of you, with the faith of the Lord and being mentally tough you can conquer anything.  Just keep that in mind when your body is hurting and your F3 brothers are yelling to keep pushing!!

Once again, thanks for the opportunity to lead this group of HIMS.  Until the next delivery Pizza Man is OOOUUUUUUTTTTTTTTTT!!!

SPEED for NEED themed delivery…

After a nice family vacation and taking part in the inaugural SPEED for NEED event on July 4th, I reached out to Midoriyama site Q, Def Leppard, for an opportunity to Q.  Lucky for me and the PAX Tuesday was open.  After being a part of the SPEED for NEED event, my heart and mind has been thinking about this great cause.  I can’t explain the joy and emotion that I felt seeing Owen smiling and having such a good time in the 4miler.  I’m sure you are like myself and often take for granted being able to lace up my shoes and go for a run or even post at an F3 AO.  I thank the man above every day for giving me the ability and opportunity to do the things I love.  With that being said, F3 Gastonia is hosting the SPEED for NEED event at The third annual Christmas Town 5K will be held on Saturday November 25 @ 6pm.  Since I had Q, I felt like it would be a great time to let the PAX see what it is like to push a chariot. (Well, I don’t really have a SPEED for NEED quality chariot but my 2.0’s running stroller will work.)   Something in my head (well really the man above) told me to come up with 19 exercises plus the one HIM pushing the chariot.  Never at Midoriyama have we had 20 HIMS show for a workout but for some reason I felt and was told it was going to happen on this day.   I loaded my Ruck Bag with about 60 lbs. for the chariot and was super excited about this Q. I knew it was going to be a special day!!  I arrived a little early at Midoriyama to write the exercises in the parking spots.  WeeWee came to give me a hand and we could see the PAX coming in.  One after another they kept rolling in; I looked at WeeWee and said this might be the day!!  5:30pm rolls around so it was time to begin…a short disclaimer… Pizza Man’s an idiot!! Wait…3 more PAX rolling in hot so first exercise is Moroccan Nightclubs as we wait for them to get out of their cars.  As I looked around I wanted to do a quick count off to make sure I counted in my head correctly.  YES, I was amazed 20 HIMS posted for this SPEED for NEED themed workout!!!  As I mention all the time and in some of my past Back Blast, things happen for a reason and GOD IS GOOD!!!  Nobody knew what the Q had in store for them but something told them to post today!!  With that being said it went like this….

Warm-up:

Seal jacks X 10 IC

Don Q’s (ToolTime’s) X 10 IC

Enough with the warm-up let’s roll……the PAX had a short mosey to the parking lot but not before 5 humpees. After a short explanation of SPEED for NEED and the Christmas town 5k each PAX picked a parking spot with an exercise wrote in it.  The exercises were….

  1. Merkins
  2. LBCs
  3. Squats
  4. Incline Merkins
  5. Flutters
  6. Calf raises
  7. Decline Merkins
  8. American Hammers
  9. Mountain climbers
  10. CDDs
  11. WW1s
  12. Lunges
  13. Mike Tysons
  14. Freddy Mercury’s
  15. Rocky Balboas
  16. Dips
  17. Plank shoulder taps
  18. Side Straddle Hop
  19. Burpees
  20. Stroller push around median

PAX are to complete AMRAP of exercise until the stroller run is done, then rotate to the next parking spot

Never underestimate the warriors at Midoriyama!! I thought that this work plus the cool 95 degrees temperature, that it might take up the whole 45 minutes but I was wrong. So another count off just to hear that great record number of 20 and now let’s mosey. We took the long route to the soccer field for a plank burpee bridge. (Our former Gastonia Natan, Whoopee, made this up.) This was definitely a crowd pleaser. With 45 minutes nearing, time to mosey back to the flag. One more set of 5 humpees and 22 for the Vets and this workout was complete.

Seal jacks X 15 IC

It went like this…The PAX were to perform each exercise for 40 sec and rest 20 sec.  After the set of 3 exercises were completed, the PAX were to complete 5 burpees and run a lap around the island.  After the 4 sets were complete it was time to rinse and repeat.  The exercises were:

During the COT Freight mentioned that F3 Gastonia will have its own site thanks to the work of our own Floppy Disk.  Thanks Floppy Disk for the work you have put into this and creating the site.  Can’t wait to see it!!

Once again it’s always a pleasure to lead a great group of HIMS and thanks for sticking through the storm.  There was a minute when the lightning was pretty fierce and had me a little concerned.  Thanks to the man above for keeping us safe and giving us the ability and strength to push through.    Welcome FNG Coach K!!!

Until the next delivery Pizza Man is OOOUUUUUUTTTTT!!

Cure for soccer arms plague….

13 men posted for a throw back Thursday delivery from Pizza Man.  Throughout the day I kept thinking about what this delivery needed and I figured that we need to try to find a cure for soccer arms plague.  With that being said 5:30 was upon us….

Warm-up:

SSH X 25 IC

Don Q’s (For our brother Tool Time) X 10 IC

Squats X 25 SC

That’s enough warm-up…

Let’s mosey….we moseyed through Midoriyama doing different types of merkins and ab work at every parking lot opening.  Along the way we did 5 burpees(humpies) at each speed bump and of course we stopped by the playground for some work.  We continued to mosey to the shed where the we knocked out 1000 dips (LOL..see who reads this).  The mosey continued to the stairs for calf raises.  While doing these we noticed ToolTime’s vehicle pulling in with Mrs. ToolTime driving.  It was great to see our brother that had surgery earlier in the day.  What better way to greet him than Monkey Humpers.  Felt sort of bad about it with his M in the car, but then Def Leppard reminded me she was married to ToolTime.  The PAX moseyed back to the flag for Pizza Man’s finale 22 merkins for the VETS.

Exercises:

Merkins, Incline Merkins, Decline Merkins, Werkins, Diamond Merkins, Mike Tyson’s, LBC’s, WWI, Flutters, American Hammers, LBFC’s, Sandy V’s, Pull-ups, and plank

*Should’ve showed to know how many reps were done*

Pledge

COT

Once again, It was great to see ToolTime after having surgery earlier in the day.  God is good!!! As always, it was a pleasure to lead a great group of men!!!  Thanks to each of you for making me a better husband, father, and man in the community.  Until next time Pizza Man is OOOUUUUUTTTTTTTT!!!

EGGcellent Good Friday…

Since I don’t get to many opportunities to Q or even post at the morning F3 Gastonia AOs, I wanted to take the opportunity and Q downtown. With it being Good Friday as well, I really wanted to bring not only an EGGcellent Pizza Man delivery but a meaningful one as well.  I had a couple things in mind like EGGs and parking deck.   With that being said it went like this:

Warm-up:

  • SSH X 20 IC…wait train so 5 burpees OYO…Now SSH
  • LBC’s X 20 IC

That’s enough; let’s mosey to the parking deck.

Thang:

Not too many opportunities for parking deck work in F3 Gastonia so I wanted to use it in my delivery. The 15 PAX moseyed to the 1st floor to wall sit for 1 minute and were informed that we would then bear crawl up each ramp and mosey to the basket of EGGs that were placed on each level.  In each basket there were 6 EGGercises and 2 bible verses to read on each of the 4 levels.  We did 3 EGGercises and read 1 verse on the way up and on the 5 level QIC informed the PAX that we would wall sit for 1 minute while a verse was read.  On the way down the PAX were to crab walk down the ramps and mosey to the basket for the other 3 EGGercises and other bible verse.  Once the PAX were back on the 1st floor we did one more minute of wall sit and then moseyed back to the pavilion for the pledge and COT but, not before we used the hand rails for horizontal plank walks into the pavilion for 22’s for the vets.  The EGGercises and bible verses were:

  • 10 Burpees
  • 25 merkins
  • 10 hip slappers
  • 1 min wall sit
  • 25 LBC’s
  • 20 LBFC’s
  • 10 Mike Tyson’s
  • 25 Diamond merkins
  • 25 Wide merkins
  • 30 Flutters
  • 15 WWI
  • 20 Sandy V’s

Isaiah 53:5  But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was on him, and by his wounds we are healed.

John 3:16  For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

Romans 4:25  He was delivered over to death for our sins and was raised to life for our justification.

Romans 5:8  But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

1 Peter 2:24  “He himself bore our sins” in his body on the cross, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness; “by his wounds you have been healed.”

2 Corinthians 3:17 Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.

Psalm 121:7  The LORD will keep you from all harm— he will watch over your life;

1 Corinthians 6:14  By his power God raised the Lord from the dead, and he will raise us also.

TarHills??

14 HIMs posted for another Pizza Man delivery at F3 Gastonia’s top AO, Midoriyama.  I knew this delivery was going to be a windy one and it didn’t let me down.  Earlier in the week the Tarhills won the Championship and being a DUKE fan I knew I would catch some grief.  With this Q, I wanted to incorporate some good HILLS in the workout for the TARHILLs.  With that being said it went like this:

Warm-Up:

SSH X 20 IC

Windmills (for the wind) X ? (There was too much mumble chatter from ToolTime)

Heck with the warm-up, time to mosey.

The Thang:

Partner up for DORA 1, 2, 3 at soccer fields:

  • 100 merkins
  • 200 squats
  • 300 LBC’s

*During this Freight heard a train in the distance, so 5 burpees it is*

After DORA the 14 HIMs moseyed to the hill at the dog park and did:

  • 10 merkins at the top
  • 10 LBFC’s at the bottom

*Rinse and repeat 4 times*

Mosey to the soccer field for Rugby sprints. The exercises were:

  • LBC’s
  • Merkins
  • WWI
  • Moroccan nightclubs

Well time to mosey to the other hill. Along the way we couldn’t pass the playground and not do anything so we partnered back up and partner 1 did pull-ups while partner 2 planked it out.

*Rinse and repeat*

Time to mosey to slider hill for some work and it went like this:

  • Run the down the hill and back up. At the top of the hill do 1 burpee, then repeat but next time do 2 burpees, then 3, 4, and finally finish with 5.

Well it was getting close to 45 minutes so let’s mosey back to the flag and finish the way Pizza Man does with 22 merkins for the VETS. I forgot to mention that at Midoriyama when Pizza Man has Q, every speed bump that is passed the PAX does 5 burpees(humpees).  We passed 3 speed bumps along the mosey, so that’s 15 more burpees.

Second day of spring?? Ut oh…

Well it was only the second day of spring and the 10 HIMS that posted at Midoriyama got a taste of what’s to come during the summer.  I had the Q and informed the PAX last week that there was going to be a good bit of moseying due to the P200 this weekend.  With that being said, it went like this.

Warm-Up:

SSH x 20 IC

Don Q’s x 10 IC…heck with the warm-up let’s mosey.

The Thang:

In preparation of the P200 this weekend, I wanted to get one last little run in. The PAX  started moseying to newly constructed trail and continued throughout all of Midoriyama.  Along the way we did 5 burpees (humpees) at each speedbump and added in some exercises that were:

  • Merkins X 10 IC
  • LBC’s X 20 IC
  • Calf Raises X 10 each step
  • Incline Merkins X 10 IC
