Maybe Man Nipples Are Not Useless

I saw Round Up after my run this morning. He was quickly heading to the truck to get home to help his babies up and ready for the day, but I did get to ask him briefly about some ‘interesting’ Facebook videos I saw of him and his baby last night. You will need to friend him on Facebook or ask him in person for more details. He and his M are 2 of the funniest people around on Facebook so you should check him out. They’re like a little reality show or something.

Great crowd this morning. We had 17 running or rucking various distances. Great work men!

Announcements: Q vs Q final at Folsom Saturday @ 6:30, Community Foundation Run also Saturday at the basseball stadium in Gastonia. Painlab-style workout before the run at the stadium if you’re interested. See Ball Joint or Flintstone if you are interested in the 24 hour run at the White Water Center.

Brrrrrrrr!

Temps dipped into the 20s for the first time in a while. That didn’t keep the men of F3 away as 14 posted to put in some miles. Shout out to Pall Bearer who continues to push the rock and logged 7 miles this morning. If I’m not mistaken, that’s a personal best. If only his beloved Tar Heels were willing to push and go the extra mile rather than pack it up for the season and skip the NIT. Good to see you men out there this morning. If you’re interested in joining a team for the 24 hour run at the White Water Center, hit up Ball Joint. He’s looking for a 12 man team.

Prayer requests: Wirenut’s family, Ratchet’s 2.0, Huck, Chubb’s friend’s child, Montross’ coworker, Ball Joint’s friend. Praise that Tooth Fairy’s 2.0 seems to have done well after surgery!

Mayor was gracious enough to take us out in prayer.

Old Weinkes Still Pop Up From Time To Time

I’ve had many Qs over the years. I like a good ‘theme Q’ and try to come up with stuff that I like or that I think will be fun. A few standout in my mind as my favorites and I like to bring them back from time to time. As I was walking the dog on Friday, I started thinking about this workout and decided to bring back the Trail O Tears. A little research took me back to March of 2019. It was a bit of a revenge Q to try to put as much pain and suffering as possible on the PAX of Folsom. I decided to bring it back and see how it holds up. 10 men were present for the $h!t Show!

Warmups – some stretching, Side Straddle Hops, Moroccan Cherry Pickers, and a few other things…I was fumbling a bit as I tried to stretch it out to waitng for a few late arrivers. Let’s mosey!

We make a quick run to the old dog pound. Everyone grab a block and rifle carry it to the courts. Set them in the corner, we’ll use them later.

Route 66 Mike Tysons – Lunge Walk the courts. Do reps at each sideline, increasing Mike Tyson up to 11 reps. Wirenut called an exercise for the 6.

Route 66 Low Squats – Bear Crawl the courts. Do reps at each sideline, increasing Low Squats up to 11 reps. Bat Dolphins were encouraged to do Jump Squats or Jungle Boys. Ball Joint took me up on that offer. I couldn’t see the other side of the courts to see if anyone else did, but I’m pretty sure GearWrench did NOT.

A quick break to work on abs and rest the shoulders for a few minutes. On your butt for 2 circuits of:
LBCs – 20 IC
Flutter Kicks – 15 IC (and at a slow pace)
X-Crunches – 10 OYO (been a while since I have done these, they hit hard!)

Grab your block

Carry the block across the courts. At each sideline, do 10 curls and 10 overhead presses. Squat thrusters were given as a Bat Dolphin option, but I don’t think anyone took me up on that. Wirenut called an overhead block hold as the 6 finished up.

Carry the block back across the courts. At each sideline, do 10 kettlebell (or cinder block, in this case) swings and 10 bent over rows. About halfway through, I hear those famous words – “3 minutes Q!!!!”

We shuffled back across the street to return the blocks and then moseyed back to the parking lot. Time!

Prayer Requests: Wirenut’s mom and 2.0, Ratchet’s 2.0, Huck, Chubb’s friend and child, Tooth Fairy 2.0, all of the PAX dealing with ‘life’.

Good work this morning men. It was great to be back in the saddle and Q’ing at Folsom again this morning. Without much running planned, I was dreading the cold and wind this morning. Fortunately for us all, the weather wasn’t quite as bad as expected and I was actually stripping layers when we got to block work. I think this workout has held up over time pretty well. You’ll be seeing it again.

Weather So Good, The Rhyne Alliance Made An Appearance

What a beautiful morning in Dallas for a run. It was so nice out that 2 members of the Rhyne Alliance made an appearance! We continue to EH Sparky and his crew in hopes they will one day rejoin F3 full-time. Of course, if I’m being honest, he could probably say the same for me!

Most guys seemed to be be running around the college and it was nice to pass a few groups of PAX as I made my way around. A high five and a bit of encouragement is always nice!

It was good to see Pappy back out there with a ruck sack this morning. He has fought a lot of injuries the past 2 years but he keeps fighting back!

We also had an FNG. Good job Beatle Bailey for EHing our newest PAX – Coleco!

There were so many prayer requests out there today but I’d like to especially ask for prayer for the Hayes family, who lost their 17 year old son in a car accident Monday. I had talked to him a few times as he worked the concession stand at rec basketball games. While I didn’t truly know him, he seemed like a very nice and respectable young man. My kids knew him and said really nice things about him. It’s about as bad of a tragedy as you can imagine for that family!

Prison Break 4/15/23

Maybe the weather has turned for good? Yet another dry Wednesday morning with nice temperatures. There isn’t much better weather for running. Bedpan has picked up the Hal Dopey plan so he may begin turning into version 2 of Sarlacc. We’ll see! In the meantime, it was nice to get in a little over 3 miles with he and Oompa this morning. Other guys ran further and a few rucked. Mainframe has become a consistent rucker the past few weeks. Of course, Camelia has been doing the same for a while now. If you are looking for a spot to ruck on Wednesdays, Prison Break is a good choice.

Announcements – Trail Run @ Poston park 2/25 (see Mayor if you want to run…he was trying to give away a spot) – 2nd F lunch 2/22 at Venicia (the old Shoguns) – 3/4 Extinction Run at Primal Brewery – Community Foundation Run coming up on 4/1, sign up under F3 Foundation or No Brainer Foundation. No Brainer is a charity started by Ratchet raising money for families of children going through cancer treatment. His son is a survivor and is currently going through some some treatment for some concerning spots on his brain so this is near and dear to Ratchet as well as myself and many others in the Dallas/Folsom area.

Prayers – Tooth Fairy and his family, Ratchet (MRI for his son on the 20th), Radar’s sister, Clavin’s M, Termite’s brother, Huck, Wirenut and his family

No Rain In Sight

For the first time in what seems like 6 months, it wasn’t raining or wet this morning at Prison Break. PAX came out of all corners of Gaston County to enjoy the fresh February air!

Prayer requests: Wirenut and his family, Tooth Fairy’s 2.0, Ratchet and family (praise, his 2.0 is out of the hospital!!!), Radar’s sister, Clavin’s M, Rabbit Ears, Round Up and the new 2.0, Huck

Pall Bearer took us out in prayer. Also, shoutout to Pall Bearer who ran 6 – yes 6 miles today. Impressive!!!!!

What Is With All Of The Rain?

As I was running alongside Purple Haze this morning, he had quite a few things to talk about (imagine that LOL!!!!). Though it was hard for me to talk a lot because I was trying not too slow him down too much, he was talking about how much rain we’ve had on Sundays and Wednesdays…Crossroads and Prison Break days. He said something like ‘It feels like we’ve been running in the rain for months’. I got to thinking and, though there’s been a few dry days here and there, it has definitely been raining a lot on the Dallas-area running AOs. I guess you could say it’s that much more impressive that men keep showing up despite the (often cold) rain.

I want to say thanks to Haze for running with me this morning. It pushed me to run faster than I would have on my own. Main Frame was looking for someone to ruck so props to Oompa & Bedpan who decided to ruck with him. That’s just 2 examples of this happening this morning, but I know there’s plenty of other guys who do this on a weekly basis. Ball Joint even slowed down a bit this morning so his son Sister Act could keep up with him. It’s guys like that who can run much faster paces, but slow it down a bit to help pull others along – picking up the 6 – that make F3 great.

Say a special prayer for Huck as he’s going through some struggles right now (you can see the details on Slack if you haven’t already). Continue prayers for Gumby, Wirenut, EZ Rider, Broke and myself. All have family members with different ailments and could use the support and prayer.

Getting Back After It

A few days since the the 24 Hour/50 Mile Challenge aka The Redneck Rooster, I notice many of the guys who put in the most miles were representing and putting in some miles this morning. T-claps to Round Up and Hacksaw as that event continues to grow each year and support local charities. Those guys are HIM for sure!

Oh, we also had an FNG! Welcome Crop Duster! I have actually seen him running down Cloninger Rd before and he was seen running with Ball Join this morning so I suspect he will be just fine.

Announcements: Lunch next Wednesday at Hillbillies, Convergence 2/11 @ 6:30 am @ Folsom. Keep Huck, Pappy, Wichita’s family, Wirenut’s family, and Slaw’s M in your prayers. Montross, Mayor, and Broke all had praise reports. Sparky kindly took us out in prayer.

The Rain Held Off

Rain was all around us but the Lord decided to give is enough of a break from it to get our run in this morning. It was nice to see ol’ Rabbit Ears out there for a Kotter post. Hope to see him again! Other than Ball Joint and Sister Act causing a collision, it was a pretty good day. Be sure to search Dallas Town Talk for “douchebag runners” for more details!

Pray for Wirenut and his family as well as my wife’s family.
