The Sandlot 1/29

N.B. Captain Stubing sent me a video of name-o-rama so that the final backblast could be written.

As this ghost rider was not present, he relied on ChatGPT to explain what happened Monday morning. @Captain, feel free to edit.

Early Monday morning at 5:30 am, the Sandlot bootcamp was alive with energy as Captain Stubing, EZ Rider, Maybelline, Winehouse, Stroganoff, JJ, Timeframe, and Clutch gathered for an intense workout session. The air was crisp, and the atmosphere was filled with determination and camaraderie.

Captain Stubing, the seasoned leader of the group, barked out commands like a ship captain navigating through rough waters. EZ Rider, with a cool demeanor, effortlessly breezed through the warm-up routine, embodying the essence of his easygoing persona.

Stroganoff, the muscle of the group, lifted weights with ease, showcasing his strength. JJ, the agile and quick-footed member, weaved through the obstacle course, leaving everyone in awe of his agility. Timeframe, always punctual and efficient, kept the group on track, ensuring each exercise was completed within the allotted time. Clutch, with a determination like no other, pushed through the most challenging routines, living up to his name.

As the sun began to rise, the group transitioned from the intense workout to a cool-down session. Captain Stubing gathered everyone in a circle for a brief pep talk, praising their dedication and hard work. The camaraderie among the group was evident as they exchanged high-fives and encouraging words.

After the workout, as they headed towards the refreshment area, Captain Stubing suggested a toast to their achievements. JJ raised his water bottle, saying, “Sincerely, to a great workout and an even greater team.” The sentiment was echoed by the group, with cheers and laughter filling the air.

The Sandlot bootcamp had not only tested their physical limits but had also strengthened the bond among Captain Stubing, EZ Rider, Stroganoff, JJ, Timeframe, and Clutch. As they left the field, the sunrise marked the beginning of a new day filled with triumphs and shared memories forged in the crucible of the Sandlot bootcamp.

Her Milkshake Brings All the Boys

1/14/24 Coconut Horse: The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly

The Good: Shortsale and Flintstone ran over a dozen miles, including some early EC.  Stagecoach rucked at Coconut Horse for the first time. Scrat knocked out another post. YHC led a conversation on Admiral William McRaven’s chapter on hope, including the story of the Raid on Son Tay in N. Vietnam. Other stories of hope included a message from F3 Cardinal’s M and from the Remembering Austin family, Nazrul and Tammy Chowdury.

The Bad: One of our runner’s visit to the woods and subsequent early exit from Q Source.

The Ugly: A Harris Teeter employee’s exploding shake all over the lobby’s chairs, counter, floor, and themselves. Fortunately, the HIM came to her rescue, with napkins and mops in tow.

Dungeons, Dice, and Drenched Determination at Relocation of Idiots

Today’s F3 fitness adventure took a wet and wild turn as YHC bravely led 11 PAX through the second half of the GasHouse Relocation of Idiots. Huddled under the First Presbyterian awning, we faced the elements – a relentless 0.07 inches of 37-degree rain, making Tube’s position in the overhang opening a precarious one.

Following a respite from Shortsale’s punishing 30-minute beatdown, YHC unleashed the power of his 2.1’s Dungeons and Dragons’ Dice and 2.0’s Kettle Bell cards. The next 25 minutes became an epic quest, with each PAX rolling a 20-sided and 10-sided die to determine the exercise card number and reps. From coupon swings to merkins, American Hammers, Clean and Jerks, Halos, Shoulder Presses, and an abundance of mumblechatter – we faced the challenge with complaints and determination.

The soundtrack of the day, curated by YHC, featured an epic playlist of cold and ice-related tunes (Foreigner, the Rolling Stones, Tone-Loc) that eventually gave way to some questionable choices (Katy Perry, Rick James, Vanilla Ice). Nevertheless, the eclectic beats fueled our determination, leaving each of us stronger and perhaps a tad dumber than when we started.

Announcements echoed through the rain-soaked air: Whiskey Mill F3 lunch – seek Boudin for directions, and prepare for Pushing Rocks in February.

As we wrapped up, we lifted our intentions to the heavens: Prayer Requests for Turtle Man, Campos founder’s family, and special intentions.

Aye,

2,044 Days Later

This morning at PainLab, I had the honor of leading the F3 workout, and it turned out to be quite the memorable experience. The atmosphere was charged with holiday spirit as we embarked on a Christmas-themed fitness challenge. The twist was the incorporation of trivia questions, adding an element of fun and competition to our usual routine.

As I rallied the participants for an hour of festive fitness, I received a surprising message from Stagecoach, my first EH back in 2018. It turns out he hasn’t posted in a whopping 2044 days, but today he expressed the desire to join in the workout and compete against his brother Cheesesteak, who has been consistently showing up.

The workout itself was a concoction of exercises and trivia questions, with two teams going head-to-head. Each round featured a trivia question, and the winning team got the luxury of an easier exercise, while the losing team faced a more challenging one. It added a dynamic and engaging element to our usual routine.

However, the morning took an unexpected turn during question three, which revolved around the highest-grossing Christmas movie of all time. Stagecoach’s team confidently declared “The Grinch,” while my sources insisted on “Home Alone.” The discrepancy led to a bit of controversy, and I must admit no one gracefully handled the mistake, hence this text when I returned to my vehicle post-workout.

Cheers to another memorable F3 workout at PainLab. See Gashouse backblast for announcements.

Prayers to our brother Sledge

Punk Rock Christmas

Nutria decided to take his talent to Minnesota this week (umm) and asked YHC to Q the Ricky Bobby this morning. As an amateur Boot Camp leader,  I decided to go with what I know – my Bulldog workout yesterday – with more running and no coupons.  Also, had to mix up the playlist from Heavy Metal Christmas to Punk Christmas (along with a Hanukah tune by Me First and the Gimme Gimmes). Thankful for Tube and Time Frame coming out two days in a row for the same beatdown. Proud to lead Cheesesteak, Kool Aid, Tesla, and CPap as well.

Announcements: 2nd F Lunch, Beer Mile, Coconut Horse’s Airing of Grievances.

Prayers: Tesla’s family, marriages, Turtleman

Too embarassing

Spiderman generously let YHC take over the Bulldog for one chilly morning, in anticipation for Qing tomorrow’s Ricky Bobby for the first time.  Let’s just say the workout below may be similar (with more running and less coupons).

Also, the most important mumble chatter was determining what’s too embarrassing to purchase in front of a live cashier (vs online or via scanner). Tampons. Condoms. Fancy Cheeses. Comment as you’d like.

WARM- UP 12 warm-up exercises with 12 reps each. All in cadence.
