GD Daddy is back!

First Q for YHC since the arrival of Lil’ Nugget in January. Been too long!

Kept it simple today, nothing unusual to write home about. Show to know. You could ask Sister Act about it, but he wasn’t there.

Prayers for Buckeye’s friend in Charlotte, college roommate, and sister.

Until next time,

GD

What an Ugly Bunch

6.5 PAX (ask Leppard) gathered at Midoriyama for a GD beatdown last night and looked so happy to be there that YHC had to comment on their striking appearance. Should’ve known better as Freight replied with: “Says the guy in short shorts and a leg condom, plus a turtleneck!” (that last bit was a special dig from Blart). Well it was on from there. Seeing the small crowd upon arrival YHC had considered taking it easy, but not with this unruly crew. We proceeded to put in 45 minutes of solid work, which seems to have been every bit as much a mental and emotional struggle as it was physical. Be warned, don’t piss off the Q workout even begins…

Hollywood Improv

Either you guys don’t like dry and 60 degree weather on the smoothest parking lot in Gaston County, or you just don’t like me. Definitely must be the former.

Anyway, the 4 brave souls who deigned to join me were probably pleasantly (or not) surprised to stay on said parking lot for 45 minutes of joy/pain.

It was so much fun/not, that one not-so-brave soul left early.

Despite the mutiny, YHC had a good time.

If you care to know more, come out to Midoriyama tomorrow (10/27).

Until then,

GD

Single Banana

8 PAX ignored the forecast and got in some miles at Crossroads. Seuss and Roundup threw caution to the wind and ran down the highway in dark clothing. Broke and Freight were feeling European today and ran 5 kilometers, while Haze, Loveboat, and YHC were far more patriotic and finished out 5 American Miles. And I’m sure Mayor did something equally reckless.

For QSource, the main takeaway was that you can, in fact, purchase bananas 1 at a time. After that, we might as well have gone home, because the lessons had already been learned.

Usual announcements and prayer requests.

Until next time,

GD

Cultured

After multiple attempts to introduce 2000’s rock to a bunch of 50 year old curmudgeons, YHC decided to turn back the clock and culture said curmudgeonly crew with some 1840’s rock. More precisely, with the Symphonie Fantastique by my man Hector Berlioz. If you thought Motley Crue and AC/DC were off the chain, you need to read the story of Monsieur Berlioz…

Anyway, the workout was great, the music was better. Show to know.

In the words of everyone’s favorite cop Roscoe: “If you ain’t got culture, you ain’t got shit.” And I believe all present would agree, there was plenty of the latter.

Until next time,

GD

IPC1 at Midoriyama

Some were prepared, others were less so, for the pain that was the Week 1 edition of the 2020 Iron Pax Challenge. Everyone gave it their all and some improved their already strong times on a second attempt later in the week. Can’t imagine doing that one again. As Tiger put it: “I’m glad that shit is done.”

Until next time,

GD
