Twas the Run Before Christmas

10 PAX… well ok, you can’t really count Sister Act (right Mayor?) showed for an unusually warm morning run on Christmas Eve.  Then it was inside for a cup of coffee and short lesson on the 12 leadership principles of Jesus Christ.

Mo Rons

7 Mo Rons showed up in the pouring rain Sunday morning at Crossroads and got in a ruck. I’m not sure anyone was really better for it to be honest. We had some good conversations though. Slaw was not there to pickup the 6. Hate to see it. Freight 2024. After  we discussed influence and how you do it. Blart joined for that part.

Not all failures are the same

10 Pax posted at Crossroads on Sunday morning. Some ran and some rucked. Some stayed for Q Source and some left to go make a joyful noise at church.

We continued our discussion on leaders. I brought in Abraham Lincoln but specifically talked about his failures. He lost businesses, jobs, and multiple elections and still went on to be considered one of the best presidents we have had in the United states. This lead us into discussing how we look at failure. Freaconomics podcast recently did a 4 part series on failure. I recommend listening. It part 1 Amy Edmonsin talks about the Spectrum of 6 failures. These range from blame worthy to expected. I thought it was helpful to categorize your failure to see how much at fault you are and to help determine the reasons for it.

The Greatest Leadership Lesson Ever

Light crowd for Crossroads on Sunday morning. 3 alliance members were out early for a run. 3 showed up at normal time. 1 ran, 1 ran then walked, and 1 rucked. Afterwards we meet in Ingles where Blart joined 4 of us for the single greatest Q-Source ever where I bestowed such great knowledge on these men that they will be forever changed. It’s probably good many of the regulars weren’t there as they likely wouldn’t have been able to handle it.

COT:

Announcements-2nd F lunch at Papas and Beer, Half Marathon ruck, 24 hour run 11/4, Trail relay run 11/18 get signed up, Christmas party coming.

The Forgotten Highlander (Crossroads 9-17-2023)

Great to have fall weather back!  Some ran and some rucked I think but we all got better hopefully.  Small crowd but quality was abound!  Afterwards we moved inside for a lesson on the luckiest (or unluckiest according to your perspective) man in WWII.  We reviewed The Forgotten Highlander by Alistair Urquhart a Japenese POW that actually built the bridge on the river Kwai.  This was a story about the ultimate in human will and survival and I would highly recommend you check it out.

Crossroads 9-10-23

9 made it to log some miles this morning.

Following our run we discussed how in 5 different stories in the Bible people had  to do hard stuff.

Ruth stayed loyal to her mother-in-law

Noah spent a lifetime building an ark

Peter chose not to let his failure hold him back

Mary chose to listen

Paul admitted he was wrong

Sometimes we are put in situations that aren’t easy , what will we do?

Pray for one another

JJ5k coming up
