The Ricky Bobby 4-5-23

Courtesy of Nutria, it was my first Q at the Ricky Bobby. It was a lovely morning in the gloom to share with some fellow PAX. Roscoe showed up for a solo ruck around the track while the rest of us did the boot camp thang. Let’s begin.

Warm-up:
SSH X 25 IC
IW X 25 IC
Toy Soldiers x 10 IC

Merkins x 20 OYO

Mosey to the back parking lot behind the school.

We had four folks, including YHC, at the bootcamp so this nice and even number worked well for partner work.
Partner 1:

100 Merkins
200 MTN Climbers
300 LBC’s

Partner 2: Run to the end of the parking lot and back to pick up where P1 left off.

Good work, let’s head to the bleachers at the baseball field for two rounds of dips and two rounds of a core exercise.

Finish with a couple of core exercises and TIME!

The Storm 3/28/2023

A good crowd as usual showed up for a Tuesday morning Bootcamp led by the Stinky Bird, YHC.

Warmup: SSH x 25 IC, Imperial Walker x 25 IC, Mtn Climbers x 25 IC, Big Boys x 20 OYO.

Mosey around the parking lot to the school. Two rounds of Hip Slappers x 15 IC and 30 LBCs OYO.

Zombie walk to the center of the parking lot for some CountDown. 15 Merkins on one side, 14 Big Boys 2 poles away. 13

Merkins at the start… you get the idea.

Once complete, head over to the baseball field concession stand for a short blast of Mary, 5 men called exercises and counted IC for 10 reps without a break. Followed this with some step ups.

Head back and take a lap around the parking lot to the school for some Dips and Derkins, 20 each OYO?

Head back to the start for another round of fast Mary, skipping the 5 guys that already called.

Deja Vu

The last (and only) time YHC Q’d at The Goat was a week or so before the COVID shutdown. We had a few PAX and one Virus. Well, let’s do it again! This time around, the date was 01/26/2023. Let us begin!

MOSEY 1.5 laps to the gazebo for some good mumblechatter. And exercises.

Gettin’ late, starting at the traffic light, sprint to the next pole, walk to the next. Repeat this all the way to the fire dept.

The Storm – 11/1/2022

It’s been a while since YHC has led a workout, so thanks for the push Breaker Breaker! Let’s get started!
This was YHC’s 26th Q, but first ever at The Storm. Most have been at The Sandlot. Why not use this number for a little workout fun?

Warmup
SSH x 26 IC
SQUATS X 26 OYO
MERKINS X 26 OYO

BURPEES X 3 OYO
Repeat Burpees per request of Bouqet

MOSEY to the bottom of the parking lot, I guess the football stadium entrance?
American Hammers x 26 IC

DORA – Partner up. Some confusion about landmarks, but the Partner 2 ran around two islands while Parter 1 did the following:
100 Merkins
200 LBCs
300 Flutters

After that fun, MOSEY up to the school for some upper body:
DIPS x 13 IC
DERKINS x 26 OYO
REPEAT 1x

ELEVENS in the parking lot
Big Boys on one side, Jump lunges on the other.

Mosey back to the start after this for 3 minutes of MARY.

The Sandlot of Love 2/14

Didn’t mean to get your hopes up….. like Flintstone did mine. YHC received what I thought was going to be a sweet wake up message from Flintstone at about 4:40am on Valentines day, but he just wanted me to take the Q… an honor that YHC gladly accepted! Short notice and no Stinky Weinke means we are going to put in a little distance! To learn more, YHC was told by all of the PAX that YHC just needs toby refer to JJ’s backblast from a few weeks back. Easy out for me! SHOW to KNOW! SHOWN to KNOWN! SHEW to KNEW.

Oh yeah, and Flintstone led a few PAX out for a morning ruck where I’m sure they put in some good, solid work. Do work son.

The Labyrinth 1/19/2022

Flintstone, with the Q. He called a triple nipple or something like that, but then gave the birthday boy the birthday gift of somebody else’s dreams…. he passed the Q to YHC! The Stinky Bird is now 35. Halfway to 70. Do all of these numbers play a part this birthday bash? Yes!

YHC did a little night before preparation for what turned out to be a good crew of HIMs in the gloom.

Mosey! Towards the former Dr’s office. BUT, stop at the first light pole and Zombie Walk to the next one. Mosey down to the Dr’s office for some parking lot fun! Playtime with Chalk! Gus (my 2.0) and I went on Sunday night to write a unique and never before done exercise in 9 different parking spaces. Here is the list of the new and revolutionary fitness moves:

1.) Big Boys x 25
2.) Burpees x 15
3.) IWS x 20
4.) Merkins x 20
5.) American Hammer x 30
6.) Mtn Climbers x 30
7.) Jump Squats x 20
8.) LBC’s x 40
9.) Jane Fonda x 15 each leg

Between every exercise, run down to the bottom of the driveway for 10 squats. Then run back up to the next parking space for some heavy breathing fun! Finished one round and then planked for our 6. After that, start again, but do half of the prescribed quantity. EZ Rider was the keeper of the time and reminded me to cut it short and head back to home base. Good work, men!

Mooooooosey towrads Gastone’s Hill! Not a great Monday morning without some Zombie Walks between the first couple of light poles we come to.
Moooooosey in the same direction. Stop once or twice for some Merkins + Overhead Claps. Repeat again at the bottom of Gastone’s Hill. Aaaaand UP! 40 LBCs OYO.
Mosey back down to the bottom and turn towards Dollar General. Stop there for a round of …… American Hammers?
Mosey to the Food Lion parking lot and grab a seat in the People’s Chair. Overhead presses IC. DONE
Grab your partner for some Dora fun! 100x merkins, 200x Squats, 300x Flutters.
And the ole Weinke disappointed again, finished earlier than expected. Let’s improvise! Head over to the Planet fitness parking lot and do some Big Boys OYO x 40! Follow these with poor understanding and execution on some booyah merkins! Oh well, I can handle the Mike Tyson! Do some at the other corner, then head to the wall near Pelicans. 15 each leg on some Bulgarian Split Squats. And of course some dips IC. Back to Pelicans with a couple minutes of Mary.

Matters of the heart

It was a gloomy Wednesday morning at the Labyrinth with a crew of honorable PAX. Let us warm up!

Let’s Mosey! This is where matters of the heart were addressed. We were on the precipice of a life changing conversation about love and women and then we had run past two young and vivacious women of a mature age when Whoopee, being one of our cherished love doctors, blew our minds with a life altering challenge of the heart. Whoopee knew that the only way we could really fulfill our purpose in life (really just of the morning) was if YHC, the valiant leader of the morning, procured a kiss from one of the goddesses of the gloom. An inrush of emotion, panic, euphoria and the thrill of the chase all rushed in. Which prompted the next exercise at beginning of the path to the concession stand.

Mosey to the concession stand and repeat. Lunge walk 3/4 around the concession stand then repeat again. Mosey to the parking lot, hang a left and turn mosey to the place of the first set. Upon arrival, opportunity knocks. Flying in on silent wings came the beauties of the morn. Whoopee encourages YHC to make my move, but alas, nervousness prevailed. YHC choked. Matters of the heart were left…. well, unresolved. Hopefully Oh well, let’s torture ourselves as punishment.

Run to concession stand and do some lunge walks then repeat. Mosey down the path towards the road then turn left around the field towards the batting cages, but end up at the playground. Failed attempt at Strava art, but backtrack nonetheless.

Repeat exercises! Mosey to the playground! A little Murph training happened here. Baby Murph. 5 sets of 5 pull ups, 10 merkins and 15 squats. Good work. Leave the playground and do a little countdown workout as we work towards Pelicans.

25 of each OYO: Merkins, Squats, Plank Jacks.

Drop 5 reps of each until we get down to 5 reps at the entrance of Martha’s River. Mosey back for a little Mary!

We had to cut it short on the last round, so one burpee instead! Head back. We make it back about one minute late… maybe 1.5 minutes…
