Some Summer Fun

It’s been a hot summer and workouts at the end of the day can be rough in this heat. I know I’m always wondering what kind of beatdown the Q has for the day and wondering how I’m going to make it through it. So today would be a good day to have some fun.

Quick disclaimer and a few side straddle hops to start it out, then off for a mosey toward the soccer field.

We stopped at each light pole along the way ( since this seems to be what we do now) for some “Core Time”

1st Pole. Ash Pond called out American Hammers of course.

2nd Pole. My favorites the X-man Crunch.

3rd Pole. Freight with some Little baby flutter crunches.

4th Pole. Some squats to warm up the legs.

Get to the soccer field and tried to put some fear in the guys eyes by calling out 22’s instead of 11’s. I don’t believe anyone was scared so on to the reason we are there. ULTIMATE FRISBEE TIME!

Split into teams and played our hearts out!

Back to the flag for some Veteran 22’s, the pledge, and Leopard taking us out. Hope all had as much fun as I did!

Blocks Blocks Core

Today was a good evening for a workout with little to no cardio but yet still a lot got done.

The group performed 10 reps of each exercise throughout the round. 3 exercises per round and 5 rounds. Then went on to the next round. Blocks were used when able.

First round consisted of…

Merkins

Lawnmowers

X-man crunches

At this point to most this was just a good warm up.

Next round was…

Block curls

Sphinx

Leg lifts

Found out the Sphinx exercise was not a liked one.

3rd round…

Squats

Calf Raises

American Hammers

Everyone seemed to be in a better mood that round. Some even attempted American Hammers with blocks. Good job Tiger and Ash Pond.

Last round was a shoulder destroyer

Standing forward press

Overhead raises

Upright rows

LBC’s with blocks

I believe that was a solid finishing round of work for the men.

Ohhhh, and Slaw called out 22 for the Vets.

Pledge and announcements. Tool Time led us out. Thank you sir.

Thank you guys for letting me lead once again. I am proud to be a part of this great band of men.

The supposed beatdown

Well this being my first workout that I lead my goal was to make some people sore. I don’t believe I accomplished that but I gave it a good try. Thanks everyone for following along!

Warm-up

SSH X 15 IC

Burpees X 5

DQ X 15 IC

Burpees X 4

PJ X 15 IC

Burpees X 3

Count off 1’s and 2’s then Mosey to soccer field. Found out after getting to the field people forget things easily and forgot what number they were…

1’s grab thin block and 2’s rolled out the tires.

1’s performed Curls X 15, Bench Dips X 15, then overhead press X 15 all with a 4 second negative.

2’s flipped tires 4 times each down the field until the other group finished.

1’s and 2’s switched and repeated twice.

1’s then bear crawled to far side of field and crabwalked back.

2’s burned out the shoulders with a 3 superset exercise.

Switched and cleaned up the field.

Mosey back to the flag for some core work.

LBC X 15

Penguins X 15

Side plank raise X 15

Finished with 22 for the vets and the pledge. Thanks for not giving me grief and will make sure the next one is a little tougher!
